  1. Nice photos and also a nice looking car, I do like the black arch trim on the Monte's.
  2. I have a sunglasses holder in the last 3 cars but the Fabia one is more of a spectacles holder I think and my Oakleys just don't fit.. shame as I like to keep them out the way so they don't get scratched. I am the same with the parking sensors as far as not quite trusting them, I have got out a couple of times to see how accurate they are and found I had a fair bit of room left directly behind me. I love the SatNav, the display is great in both the radio and media mode and of course if you have the bluetooth like I specced the phone address book bit is really good to use. The armrest is also a great extra to spec in my mind as when in auto and the cruise is set for relaxed driving the car feels so comfy with my elbow sat on the rest.
  3. My car holds at 1100rpm in both Sport and manual modes. I also hear a bit of a noise when shifting between modes but I am guessing that is like any gearbox as it selects the relevant drive. One thing I have found is if you do a paddle shift whilst in Auto mode the gearbox stays in manual until you push the gear lever over to manual and back to auto... anyone else found that to be an irritation?
  4. It's maybe like a mason's secret hand shake.. driving a fast Skoda earns a little respect
  5. What ever you do dont order the sunglasses holder.. you will never ever use it.. unless you wear a monocle that is!!!
  6. My experience of running in temps above say 10deg is they feel very floaty and actually loose grip just like a summer tyre in the cold and wet. The wear can be pretty rapid too, I ran a set of Nokian's on my 1st Stilo multiwagon through the spring and summer and they were shot after 5000 miles... that was an expensive experiment!
  7. Like mentioned before, you get what you pay for. The materials used, the quality of manufacture, the development into the product, customer service and back up all contribute to the cost of engineered items! I am an advocate of never go for the cheapest and don't expect massive improvements from the top of the range compared to the 2nd from top! I bought the KW's for a number of reasons... the stainless bodies on the front struts, the finish of the spring seats, the proven track record of KW products on other platforms and at motorsport level. I hope to find the car is much more composed with mid corner balance pinned down a lot more from both the lower ride height but also the slower damping rates matched to the heavier springs. Of course proof is in the driving and that is eagerly awaited. I have a Whiteline rear ARB on order and will get that fitted as soon as it arrives from Austrailia.. not sure yet if I have to mount it on upside down in order to make it work on a European car
  8. Wibb are you expecting the sub 7deg temps before me? Don't go wishing it on us too soon!
  9. I will have my KW variant 2's fitted on Wednesday so will post some pictures of before and after and will also go for a drive on the night to be able to provide an initial report of my findings. I have a thread already started HERE that you can follow.
  10. I did a run from from Guisborough down to the NEC yesterday with 3 guys all about 80-90kg each and sat on the cruise at about 75mph with the odd burst to get past people and get up to speed from junctions etc and averaged 40.7mpg on the trip! thats with only 600 miles on the clock!
  11. I've had it flashing in 1st, 2nd and 3rd up to now, I get a chirp off the tyres then a flash of the light as a drop of power is felt... I just lift off a little then bury the pedal again to carry on accelerating. Out on the moor roads round here as you go over the crests of some of the rolling hills it will go on for a good second or so but that's only because the car is airborne and I've not lifted!
  12. That's class, I wonder if they do Alcon versions too.. now thats Chav in the know!

  14. Yea I got all that plus a deep tissue massage by a blonde german lady.
  15. £990 from e.buyer.co.uk, they have shipped from Germany as had to be assembled to order. Next in line is the milltek turbo back system once it's out along with a filter and remap. Then a big brake conversion, maybe the gorgeous ones from BZ in Chech.
  16. Well the KW's have arrived and the car is booked to get dropped next Wednesday. Until then I guess I will have to just put up with the roley poley little beastie.
  17. Same here.. I told them where to park that suggestion!
  18. Here are my rear flaps fitted to the estate.. a bit tight getting at the Torx bolts with a cycle multi tool but still only took 15 minutes to fit and are working very effectively! The fronts incidentally took a bit longer as have some tiny little tabs that have to be clipped behind the wing's seam.
  19. Well my visit back at the dealer this morning seems to of been painless. My dash rattle appears to of gone... the service desk said that the instrument pod was moved a bit to get a tighter fit. I also had a bit of water leaking at the front bumper and a seal to the headlamp washer is going to get replaced. As well as those issues I had noticed a bit of the rubber seal around the passenger front door was cut so I am getting a new one of those fitted. I should get the replacement bits fitted next week and also some packing material added to the dash to prevent any further rattles. All in all a pleasant experience really. Derek Slacks perhaps do deserve 'Best Skoda dealer in the UK' award after all.
  20. does that mean a huge discount for me ??? lol. Am I right in thinking the ITG induction is getting redesigned somehow? Also once the KW coilovers are fitted does the camber need to reset as well as tracking plus the rears alignment adjusted?
  21. When I've got my 1st 1000miles out the way and the credit card recovers from buying the kw suspension I will be pestering milltek about the exhaust and then will have to come and see you Shark! Midrange grunt is what I would want out of a map as well as more linear top end... Is that possible?
