  1. No Derren Brown or Mystic Meg stuff. Just observing the reality.
  2. As Mac said, he's trying to cause an argument where there is none.
  3. "Care home vote theft is more prevalent than some people might imagine" "There's likely to be little hard evidence of this, as having your postal vote "stolen" doesn't leave bruises." So something happens lots but there's no evidence of it happening. 'Dogs eggs' was a great analogy.
  4. Lots of conspiracy theories about Soros for those who are hard of thinking or just like falling down rabbit holes or maybe even internet trolls who go on social media or even forums to wind people up. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Soros_conspiracy_theories
  5. Ouch! I wonder if this might lead to calls from even Tory quarters that the FPTP system is outdated and unfair and call for Proportional Representation? There was a referendum on the matter in 2011 but that wasn't about FPTP Vs Proportional Representation - it was about FPTP Vs the Alternative Vote system. It's not looking good for Reform btw lol https://yougov.co.uk/politics/articles/49061-yougov-mrp-labour-now-projected-to-win-over-400-seats https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_United_Kingdom_Alternative_Vote_referendum
  6. Facebook Marketplace is no better in Germany - it's a Facebook problem and Facebook Marketplace is worse than any dodgy car boot sale. I was looking for a telescope last year, I saw the same one advertised by at least three different sellers in different locations.
  7. What he gets up to in his house is his business but if he's been practicing yoga to keep supple I couldn't tell you.
  8. Sunak's so week Wragg's had to sack himself
  9. List of MPs standing down ahead of the next GE as of 26/3/2024 https://www.instituteforgovernment.org.uk/explainer/mps-standing-down-next-election
  10. Si King Re the above GPTOCBqwYHZtyP0HAD2C_5VEPtxAbmdjAAAF.mp4
  11. An interesting thread on why the tories deserve to be wiped out whenevr the GE is called. https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1775854592992923697.html
  12. Hope not Hate have hardly smeared anyone - all they've done is read SM posts by prospective Reform UK candidates and published them. They smeared themsselves. I think it's five so far who were found to made racist, homophobic or obscene posts. 'Smear campaign' - 'a plan to discredit a public figure by making false accusations.' FTR I don't think Sunak is 'far right' at all but I do believe he's being held hostage to those in the tory party who are a lot further to the right than he is. I can point to the exact date the real rot set in. I've said in previous topics that Brexit would be the tories poisoned chalice.
  13. Scoop. Netflix. Gillian Anderson playing Emily Maitlis to perfection and Rufus Sewell plays a dead ringer for Randy Andy. Billie Piper as Maitlis's assistant who still has a career. Unlike her deadbeat ex.
  14. Battery stations - Chinese car manufacturer Nio has gone to scale with it in China and is now trying it in Europe. The idea is to cut down waits at charging stations and stop EV buyers from worrying about battery life. But I wonder if it could also be an answer for people who have nowhere to charge off-road at home? I've always thought that swapping out batteries would be far easier not to mention quicker cutting journey times. Of course there'd need to be a consensus on the standardisation of battery types but if Apple etc can be made to swap to USB-C then anything's possible. https://restofworld.org/2024/ev-battery-swapping-china/?fbclid=IwAR3y1u5FKEBh_0ZQjA58RitEEKh-5TL7g9CuL2dAIibcVdW_zjlfAY_Ij8U
  15. I was watching one of them on Secrets of the London Underground a couple of weeks ago. Theirs was only used for shunting carriages in the yard though. Quite old as well so I doubt that one could pull/ push anywhere near that weight.
  16. I've wanted a Unimog for years now but no way I could justify the purchase. See loads here doing all sorts of tasks with all the attachments they can be fitted with. I saw one with a pair of roller brushes (like a car wash but vertical) on a hydraulic arm. It's purpose was to clean the snow poles
  17. As an MP he shouldn't have ended up where he did in the first place. Being an MP comes with certain amounts of responsibility and Wragg failed to meet them. If he was/ felt he was being pressured to give out details of other MPs he should have ceased all communication with whoever it was he was communicating with and saved all the messages to pass on to the Met and the relevant Parliamentary offices in confidence. That Sunak hasn't sanctioned him is beyond the pale IMO and yet another sign of how weak he is as a PM and MP and how utterly knackered the whole government is. The thing is, if they remove the whip from Wragg, they'd have to remove it from those he compromised. But perhaps they don't want it to get out who else was involved other than Wragg hence he keeps the whip 🤷 It's not as if the Tories are allergic to sex scandals is it. Anyone remember the Hamiltons plus many others.
  18. The thing is a potential security breach has occurred yet the MP responsible for passing on contact details of other MPs without their authorisation has received absolutely no reprimand or sanction whatsoever 🙃
