  1. I can remotely lock / unlock but never have needed to in anger tbh. Good point about security, not had any issues personally but had to disable the wi-fi on my old Outlander as they could be hacked! I did find on checking the app late one night that the mother-in-law had left her door wide open all evening in the rain, so I suppose that was a help (make up your own mother-in-law joke here). Thank god for rubber floor mats and a wet vac to sort it out (the car not the mother-in-law) - no damage done fortunately. I was on a cruise (remember them?) and could see the car had been moved in Southampton Docks and was left unlocked (secure compound one hopes). I was sorely tempted to lock it remotely, but who knows what fun and games that may have caused. The car was fine (and was subsequently locked a couple of days later) on pick up, I went over it with a tooth comb. Not tried to remotely lock it if the Kessy key is inside, common sense says it won’t lock - I think a test is required. I’ve not had the app mis-report the vehicle status as others have said, just that it wouldn’t update (server down), which was quite frequent but much better lately. Anyhow, Happy New Year to all Briskodians, may 2021 be a better year.
  2. Yes, not good is it? Cannot get any service data from my current or SWMBO Yeti. Only advantage I can see is that it’s not logging me out every time I try and use it (compared with the old connect app), and if that’s the only improvement it’s saying something. What is the “log book” about? It sounds like the V5C (not possible I know) - hoping it was the service record, but no, it’s a log of journeys - business or personal. Have to have the car play plugged in. Seems much more of a faff than the small WH Smith diary I keep in the door which I fill in for business miles (with built in low tech pencil no less).
  3. Same rear wiper blade on my Kodiaq, juddered and noisy from new, fixed at last by fitting Bosch Aerotwin A331H (same as Karoq). Fronts OK for now. Terrible to bin ‘new’ blades. Seems to be a common theme.
  4. Service history has not yet been carried over from the old My Skoda app.

  6. @Squaddie1980 As others have said welcome to the forum Where and how you drive can make a massive difference, I can tell you as a guide that my 2019 TSI 4x4 190 over 31k miles has averaged 36 mpg at the pump. It can go as low as 28 when in an urban environment (or if I have a lead foot) or up to 48 mpg on a long run on the motorway being very careful (but this can be boring!). I very rarely change out of normal mode to eco or sport. You may see the eco symbol appearing on the dash if you lift of the throttle lightly as it coasts, if you lift off quickly or brake it does not. I have used the fuelly app to monitor the consumption, so I’m sure that is accurate. I can also see that the mpg goes down a bit when colder. It’s always worth just checking the basics like tyre pressures and removing weight / roof bars, minimising use of accessories etc. to ensure you are getting the best mpg, but I’m sure you’re aware of this. I have also tried higher octane fuel (momentum 99) over a long period but nothing to note on mpg really (different debate) I went into ownership expecting a lower mpg than that of other models, but with the trade off of the bit extra grunt and the 4 x 4 which will inevitably reduce the mpg. I hope you get it sorted to your satisfaction and enjoy the car, the Sportlines do look very smart.

Max speed with park assist 25mph when looking for space, not when maneuvering, and yes, I had it on a superb and realize (as I said) it had side sensors, and no, they don’t always pick up the kerb, all to do with the drivers skill levels and comfort zone I suppose? If you like it use it, each to his own.
  9. +1^^ It lines up on the other vehicles so it can and will kerb your alloys if you are not careful, but it will get you into a small space that you may not attempt yourselves, - but quicker - not from my experience. You can’t drive too quick, have to go past the space till it’s ready (at this point the people behind are covering the space) etc.... It may be for you and it’s very novel, but in my humble opinion it’s not something extra I’d pay for again. ACC on the other hand is, but not everyone likes that.
  10. +1 on the park assist, very novel but used it about 3 times on a Superb I had. I can do a much quicker job with mirrors, reverse camera and sensors (front and rear on the SEL), though it might be handy having the extra side sensors - but expensive. Hope you enjoy your Kodiaq after the long wait.
  11. Just phoned SUK customer services. They are very aware of the situation, and the very pleasant lady on the phone knew what I was going to ask as soon as I said “My Skoda”. She told me it was handled from the Czech Republic and it’s therefore not under SUK control. She told me that their understanding was that the information would have been migrated all onto one app (good idea in principle) and they’ve raised this as an issue, and they are expecting an update within a couple of weeks, if not to phone back, so watch this space. (luckily, I have all my service reports, but it’s not the same as a stamp in a book with the little boxes ticked, looking back nostalgically......)
  12. Not well rolled out is it, I have (had) the My Skoda App and Skoda Connect. I always thought it peculiar to have the 2 apps and thought that the info that the old My Skoda app had was going and the Connect app was being re-named to My Skoda with the data from the old app, particularly service history and manuals. it appears that all they have done at the moment is shut the old app down and lose all that access to service history and manuals. Hopefully they are just incompetent and haven’t rolled the updated app out yet, but I’m not holding my breath. Perhaps I’ve misunderstood something?
  13. Can I start off by thanking those above who have helped me quickly diagnose and repair this fault on SWMBO Yeti. For those of you are afflicted with the same issue, the part number is the same but is revised or made by a different supplier as it’s now 5L6-827-505-E and cost me £42.25 from my local dealer (they had one in stock) I was also quoted £80 labour to fit for those who aren’t happy doing this themselves. (The price from a local independent to supply and fit was very comparable) The hardest part is removing the tailgate trim, which isn’t for the feint hearted and requires some brute force and levers (I found wooden spoons to be handy when it started to move) and you only really need to open the bottom part up and not remove the whole trim to gain access to the lock. The whole operation of replacing it takes just a few minutes when you get the trim separated. Beware the size 8, 3 square spline headed bolts, I managed with a good T40 torx bit - but was getting ready to go and buy one which wouldn’t be a bad idea. From failure to fix in 12 hours. The mechanism had failed exactly the same as above, and there are plenty of YouTube videos on this failure on a range of VAG cars to be found. Anyhow, thanks again.
  14. I’m not really surprised. On the Outlander PHEV I had the range depended very much on the temperature and the way it was driven. I think it was advertised as 31 miles and didn’t get more than 26 while I had it and I was careful. Motorway speeds would rapidly deteriorate the range, much better at urban speeds. Using the heat pump (or air con) used to take 5 miles off the range immediately, so perhaps the combination of less output from the battery when cold and the heating of the car from the traction battery are the issue. As said, try finish charging just before use, and preheat the cab if it’s available on the iV. See if the heating makes a difference. Hope you get it sorted.
  15. @Scot5 The Columbus was standard by the time I got my 2019 SE-L I have and I don’t think I’d of paid extra for it over the Amundsen. All agreed on the buttons being on the wrong side, and I much prefer a mechanical volume / on off button compared to the touchscreen type, I normally use the steering wheel controls now. Shame about the cost cutting, it was always about getting more for your money to me rather than just paying for a budget specification, if that makes sense?

  17. On my 2019 SEL with LED pack as an optional extra, there are rear foot lights too and all the interior lights are LED not incandescent.
  18. The big rectangular hole in the Jack kit insert is for holding a bulb kit, not supplied in UK but SWMBO Yeti now has one after purchasing one for some Mainland Europe travel.
  19. Sometimes the fan runs on on my 2019 2.0 Tsi 190, I’m guessing either it’s hot or it’s part way through regenerating the OPFs. It’s also been common on my previous VAG diesels with DPFs.
  20. I have a Kodiaq and it’s the right hand side that pushes in on my right hand drive vehicle (ie operated by the thumb), the left is static. I wonder if it’s the interlock stopping you pushing it in or perhaps it is already in and springs out when connected? Sorry I can’t be more helpful.
  21. Nice, I had a mk3 vRS estate in the same race blue colour, the water pump and belt change should remove that worry for many miles. Hope you enjoy it, looks great!

I’ve never used any of the inbuilt ice scrapers as I feel they may scratch the glass (I may be wrong) I prefer to use tepid (not too hot) water, and never had an issue, also unfreezes door seals. Got to say though that on the Outlander PHEV you could pre heat or cool it, but the set up of timers or wi-fi app was awful. So if they’ve implemented it well in the Skoda it’s a great thing. IIRC the heat pump is an extra, but I would say well worth having for the power savings / longer range.
  23. +1^^^, 2014 Yeti 1.2 TSI with timing chain, never needed to top up between services from new, 6 - 8k miles per year.
  24. The TPI did exist as I had it applied some years ago to my vRS Tdi. It only worked for a few months though as whatever was causing it came back. Possibly a software fix to a hardware problem. What I would say is though that’s it’s normally reported as quite intermittent and (my one was twice a week, say 1 in 7 journeys) not the 9 out of 10 times you say you are experiencing. This will hopefully help a technician diagnose it easily. There are many suggestions to what it may be, injector drift, fuel pumps, non return valves, batteries, the list goes on. My car never showed an error code but I videoed it long cranking and this was enough for the dealer to act. Hope you get it sorted, perhaps the diagnostic fee is an annoyance but may be worth paying to get a result (possibly) Hope you get it sorted as they’re a nice car and this sort of thing lets them down badly.
  25. Looks nice, lots to like, many features similar to my Kodiaq and many other cars of course. Not a major department from mainstream vehicles and very nicely styled IMHO. But that grill is going to be a bit ‘Marmite’, not for me I’m afraid, plain option please, very garish and grills have little function (battery cooling and ac / heat pump) on EVs, well not as much as an ICE so why emphasize it? Very much style over substance. You pay your money and you make your choice though. Nice big display high up on dash but software operated heating and vent controls will put some people off, difficult to adjust on the move (lots of debate on this elsewhere (see Octavia mk4)). Binnacle small but great with heads up display (optional). The Panoramic roof appears to be the same standard VW unit that many people enjoy (also repairing), so again not for me. Shame as they look so nice and brighten the interior. Hope the drive is nice and quiet, and not too many rattles which will be much more obvious. No transmission tunnel will please the rear mid seat passenger. Good beginnings down the EV line, would be seriously tempted with the low running costs, just issues around my usage pattern and fast charging. Though things are hopefully changing from a couple of years ago, the infrastructure isn’t quite there yet for me. After retirement though, one car - low mileage - no issues. I’ll be interested to see this section in Briskoda develop with real user reviews and early adopter issues.
