  1. It was comprehensively covered here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/176012-anyone-fitted-a-reversing-camera-to-their-yeti/?hl=%2Byeti+%2Breversing+%2Bcamera#entry2898958 The kit mentioned above looks to be similar to what was recommended there. I bought it all then but due to health issues it never got fitted..
  2. It's EA 189 not AE189 Wiki lists the following as used in the Yeti. As the Yeti shares the Octavia platform I presume that to be the same. Engine designation Production Engine code (family) 1.6 TDI CR GreenLine 77 kW 2010–2015 CAYC (EA189) 1.6 TDI CR 77 kW 2013–2015 CAYC (EA189) 2.0 TDI CR 81 kW 2009–2015 CFHA (EA189) 2.0 TDI CR 81 kW 2009–2015 CFHF (EA189) 2.0 TDI CR 81 kW 2015- (EA288) 2.0 TDI CR 81 kW 2015- (EA288) 2.0 TDI CR 103 kW 2011– CFHC (EA189) 2.0 TDI CR 103 kW 2009– CFHC (EA189) 2.0 TDI CR 103 kW 2010– CFHC (EA189) 2.0 TDI CR 110 kW 2015– (EA288) 2.0 TDI CR 110 kW 2015– (EA288) 2.0 TDI CR 125 kW 2010–2015 CFJA (EA189)) 2.0 TDI CR 125 kW 2013–2015 CFJA (EA189)
  3. The government fines will just be the start. Presumeably VAG are also open to thousands of actions from owners claiming the car has been mis-sold.
  4. Had to change the battery last month as it wasn't holding a charge, only done 35000K (about 1000per month..) Is it worth getting diagnostics run? Everything seems OK although there is a slight turbo lag
  5. Skoddy makes annoying low speed noise. A sort of metallic vibration. Can't find it anywhere. I wonder if it's part of the underteray or the exhaust
  6. Never had one, system is different here. I find the ticket holder annoying as well, although I do use it. Everytimre I get in the car I think there's a craack in the windscreen
  7. Just got V10. Why don't they add speed cameras? I followed the guide on this site but could only get it to load one type of camera per folder so soon ran out of possibilities to add POIs. Not much use when you travel all over Europe, It's not illegal, except in France and Switzerland, to have this info.
  8. I'd be interested to know how they fit.
  9. Just looked at Gizmo's location on Googoo maps. Do you live in the air raid shelter? (I used to have a place in Sandpiper Road) Might finally manage to make this one - M1 and M25 traffic willing
  10. If the factory won't offer it, I know a man who can :sun: Burnham Autos http://www.nyssa.ltd.uk/Y10/My_Y10.htm The big yellow thing in the background of some photos is my Chevy
  11. Rockhopper; I've got all the bits to fit a reversing camera but unfortunately have done my back in, can't bend or get down onm my knees to fit it all
  12. Looking at the new BlackVue DR530W-2CH Wifi 2Channel Lite and wondering as it can send the picture to my Phone via wifi can it also be used to send a picture to the Columbus during reversing?
  13. Sorry, to me it looks a bit military surplus. Maybe you should add some grenade launchers and a pair of .50s on the top?
  14. Finally got a scanner again, so here are the before and after figures. PK is horsepower, torq is torque Fuel consumption continues to be slightly worse but not alarmingly so 15SZN1 PK metingen.PDF 15SZN1 Torq metingen.PDF
  15. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-11-14/volkswagen-issues-global-recall-of-1-68-million-vehicles.html "Volkswagen is recommending that mineral oil be used in dual-clutch gearboxes on 1.6 million cars and vans in place of synthetic oil" Will this affect the DSG box?
  16. A bit sluggish starting this morning. A solar panel charger looks like an option. Illegal to do away with them so have invested in a spray; the ultrasonic device I had before didn't seem to worry them
  17. First frost here last nigh. Appointment mad with garage for the 27th to put winter boots on,
  18. Bearded since my 21st. Most GFs reckoned it tickled their fancy
  19. Big for Skoda Assist. They sent a mechanic along within 20 minutes. Fortunately nothing had been eaten however the battery was completely discharged despite having taken 6 amps for about 7 hours yesterday. Started on the booster, just made my appointment and drove it around for an hour afterwards. Having seen the eggshells and the lights I jumped to a conclusion. Feeling a bit foolish, but I'm sure nothing was left on and the battery should have been over half charged.
  20. Anyone else had problems with these little sods? I've been laid up for a couple of weeks and found out yesterday that the battery in Skoddy had discharged. Hooked up the charger and all seemed well until I tried to start him half an hour ago. Al the warning lights started to flash but nothing more happens. When I was hooking up the charger I found a couple of egg-shells under the bonnet so initial guess is one of these has had some wiring as a dessert.. Now waiting for Skoda Assist.. Not at al happy as it's a missed hospital appointment. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beech_marten Protected species, would make a nice warm pair of slippers

    Weather!

Got Skoddy down to just on 30mpg from Calais to Maastricht; motorway all the way, except round Brussel, but it was 0300 and I know where the speed camera are
  22. The Recaro should fit no problem. It pays to shop around, I see DemonTweeks even do them on the never-never. When pricing it don't forget the frame is normally extra.(about £60 per side) Big advantage is you can usually move it to your next car and put the original, probably unused, seats back - might even increase the trade-in value
  23. Took Skoddy to Vagtechniek, near Eindhoven, for a day. I was originally planning to go to Shark but no longer have accommodation in Alfreton. 312mm front discs fitted, updated software to th DSG6 box and the motor management remapped. All for a very reasonable €1380. Torque is up from 315Nm @1950RPM to 388Nm @ 2000RPM and HP from 142.2 @4300RPM to 177.7 @ 3950 Feels a lot smoother and quicker on acceleration, Turbo lag seem less. Will have to wait and see what the fuel consumption's like over he coming months.
