  1. I know this thread is over a year old, but I've just had the same issue! You can't appear to be able to use the raised boot floor and the cargo net at the same time, if the boot floor is "open". With the floor flat you can stretch the net from the wheel arch hooks behind the back seat to the big chrome hooks that hold the sides of the raised boot floor down. My car doesn't appear to have all the hooks as per the manual however. Looks like some along the plastic trim that runs under the window in the manual. You can take the raised boot floor sides out but then you've got painted boot floor exposed. Cheers Paul
  2. I've just messaged a mate of mine who might be interested
  3. Re - turning it into a VAG day - I'm more than happy to tie up with No-Rice if you guys are?
  4. Zaino Clear Seal is superb on wheels as it dries clear and you don't have to buff it off - ideal for nooks and crannies on wheels.
  5. Welcome Johnny. Surprised you weren't on here already. How's the VRs?
  6. I'm amazed at this thread! I happen to know the guys that started DW (one of which happens to also be called Bill Rogers!) and they are a great bunch. If I can help with your refusal, please let me know. As for the abuse you received Chris, like any forum, newbies can come under unnecessary attack from keyboard warriors. Don't take it to heart.
  7. just got my first Skoda! Picked this up tonight: Random petals in the scuttle: Detailers heaven: Crazy boot floor: Mouldy badge: Random deep scratchs: Bumper scuff: Wing mirror scuff: Random polish residue: Laurin & Klement: Smoke chrome alloys: Full leather: I'm a keen detailer, so obviously it's going to get the full monty very soon! Cheers Paul
  8. I'm doing nothing, it rained yesterday so the car looks mint again!
  9. I've seen something similar on my car. I think what happened was someone had lobbed a bottle of coke out of the window of a passing car and it had splattered up my paintwork!
  10. there are filters available for AFTER the outside tap. got some good reviews but seemed pricey to me.
  11. Not got supagaurd etc, but do have very clean, very polished, very sealed paintwork (it's currently wearing Duragloss). I do use Last Touch as a drying aid and it doesn't affect the sealant.

  13. I was having a clear out of the car the other day and was amazed at the amount of stuff I've accumulated over the years - warning triangles (yes, more than one!), screen wash, de-icer, hi-vis vest, bungee straps, luggage nets, random tools etc. So what's in your boot?
  14. The AA everytime - never had an issue, always turn up within reasonable time and have always got me on my way. Highly recommended.
  15. Last touch is very good as a drying aid. You can get really OCD about it and wash one panel at a time which will help. I just usually wash the car properly, then rinse the whole car down, then spray last touch on a panel at a time and whizz rund with a plush drying towel. I can just about get round the car before the last panel has dried. If it has howver, I just re-rinse and continue. Top tip - I spray Optimum No Rinse on the car after I've washed it and it makes drying a LOT quicker!
  16. Keep a packet of "sensitive" baby wipes in the car - these don't have alcohol in them and are therefore a lot kinder to interiors. You can get clear plastic seat back protectors from Mothercare etc - they look "ok" but do the job of keeping feet off seats. I just take the kids shoes off before they get in if they are really muddy. Boot liner - eBay will be fine. The worse thing is pram wheels on the carpet / back of the seats. I'd also go for a bumper protector across the top lip. Prone to scuffs regardless of how careful you are. You'll be amazed at where dirt will end up when you've got kids though. I found some sort of mash on the roof lining the other day. Now the kid in question can't reach the headlining and he'd had dinner 2 hours beforehand. Turns out he'd dropped some mash on his trousers, which transferred to his hand between the house and the car and as I put him in his seat he reached up and spread the mash.. Thanks son...
  17. if it's free, take it. then keep it topped up. stop using fairy liquid, buy a mild shampoo
  18. I had something very similar on my Passat estate. The solenoid had siezed in the "open" position, therefore the flap wouldn't click shut. Assuming your's in solenoid operated, you'll have to get to it from the inside, take it out and repair or replace. I took mine apart, cleaned it out, reinstalled and it's been fine ever since.
