  1. Yeah, I agree that the warranty SHOULD start from when it was registered (yesterday) but the only bit of paper with the car said the 5 year warranty ran until the 20th October 2025, and I know it was built on the 21st. Hopefully I'll be getting more details about the warranty - ie what is covered etc - in the post and it will clear it up. I was wary about the 19 inch wheels too, but in practice they seem fine. The 4x4s run on 225/45 R19s rather than the 225/40s fitted to the FWD cars, so that might give a bit more flex. And mine are Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sports, which even as new seem to grip well, but seem noisy on some surfaces. Perhaps they'll quieten down as they wear in. I've got the Dynamic Chassis Control / Progressive Steering option on mine too, but so far haven't needed to try the Comfort mode; (I'll probably keep it it Eco mode for the first thousand miles until it's run in.) The steering works well though. Chris
  2. My Karoq Sportline 2.0TSI has made it through lockdown to me, and initial impressions are very good. Some oddities though... I'd opted for the 5 year warranty, but see from the minimal sheet describing my car that my dealer gave me, it expires 5 years after it was built rather than when it was bought. Others might like to check theirs to ensure they don't get caught out. In my case the two dates were only a few weeks apart but if your car's delivery has been delayed it could become more significant. I'd also chosen for the 'Personalisation' option - primarily because it was a cheap way to get a third spare key. So was disappointed when the dealer only gave me two, and insisted that MY21 cars only got two now. But when I got home and investigated how well my phone fitted on the Qi charging mat, I was pleased to find a third key sitting inside it! And it works on my car too. Finally, others have complained that the Isofix covers are no longer fitted in MY21 cars, so I kept mine back from the Golf I was P/Xing. Only to find them already fitted in my back seats. Let's see what I find tomorrow when I start setting up the Infotainment system, Connect, etc... Chris

It can identify faults for you, but I don't think most people buy it for that as most will still have to get a garage to cure the fault. It's main attraction for me is that you can customise the car's software with it - such as changing the volume of the Soundaktor gimmick, changing the number of flashes when you flick the indicator, etc. You can do this with the basic Mk1 version as long as you are happy to use pre-programmed 'apps' to do it, and are willing to watch a few short adverts to earn 'credits' to use the app. Or you can buy the PRO version at an extra cost which lets you do your own programming of the software. You can check what it will do on your cars by going to their website: https://obdeleven.com/en/
  4. But it must be available as spare parts surely, to replace any that fail? But I accept it could get expensive if there are wiring implications as well as the hardware itself.

Horses for courses... try getting the 2.0TSI in any other trim. And I much prefer the look of its painted bumpers, and seats.
  6. Regardless of whether or not Boris imposes import duties on 'foreign' cars in January, Skoda UK have just added this statement to their website: "We guarantee not to pass on any post-Brexit tariffs to orders placed with your Retailer before 17.30 on 2 December 2020. Retail customers only. Excludes Motability. Subject to taking delivery on the date communicated by the retailer. Talk to your Retailer for full details. Final price is at the discretion of your Retailer." So if you're thinking of buying a new car, do it before December! Chris
  7. You're asking us from Greece, and the majority of us on the forum live in the UK so are not familiar with Greek law. If you read the small print in your warranty, you'll probably find that you're only allowed to have your car serviced in an approved Skoda dealers, and unauthorised modifications of any kind are forbidden. In practice, IN THE UK, modifications that could not have affected the fault that you wish to be covered by the warranty will be overlooked. For instance, fitting different wheels will not disqualify a claim for defective paint. But you will be relying on Greek case law, and the Greek Skoda importer,

Similar reports here: Some replies of "They all do that, mate", but perserverance got new seats fitted.
  9. No, the Sportline has the Amundsen as standard, unlike the Edition (and perhaps the SE L?) which have the Columbus as standard. And the MY21 cars also have the new steering wheel and USB-C sockets, and no SD card port.
  10. I only had a quick look, but it only seemed to explain how to clean and prepare the surface to stick the new one on. But I've already read that you get the old one off with fishing line or dental floss, and a hair drier or hot air gun. My car was built on the 21st October, and is now parked somewhere in Northern Germany, waiting for a ship to get it to Grimsby. But the lockdown seems to have furloughed all the car transporter drivers, and we're waiting to see how Skoda UK will get them to the dealers. So my delivery date could be mid-November, or early December.
  11. Just got my Race Blue front Skoda badge from SuperSkoda ready for when my car arrives. (The colour range seemed to be a bit variable, so I decided to get one while I could!) I was interested to see it has three studs on the back to fit in the bonnet. Do these cause any problems when removing the old one? I was also a bit surprised to find my bits came in an old disposable nappy box! Luckily nothing fell out of it on its travels although it was a bit battered, but as it was still quite clear what it was, the postman gave me a funny look!
  12. OBDeleven have just added the Soundaktor control as a one-click App. Now I just need my car to use it on! (Built 21st October, presently somewhere between the factory and Emden. Why doesn't 'Just-in-Time' get applied to deliveries as well as production??)
  13. Hi Phutters, I don't want to hijack this thread, but do find it surprising that can manufacturers are so keen on Just-in-Time when it comes to stocking the components for their production lines, but then let valuable cars sit around between the factory and the customer! My car was built on the 21st October, and it's only an 8 hour drive to Emden. But it is still parked up somewhere in Germany! Why is it OK to spend weeks transporting the cars to the dealers, if it's not OK to have warehouses full of tyres, sunroofs, engines etc??
  14. Update: Skoda UK tell me my car is still in transit between the factory and Emden (after nearly two weeks for an 8 hour journey!) so I'm a way off seeing my car yet! Could be a Christmas present the time it's taking
  15. Great news! I emailed my sales exec last Friday to gee him up a bit, but I've been getting most of my updates by Twitter DM from Skoda UK. My sales exec promised to phone me back when he'd found my car, but not replied yet! I'll have to chase him again and see if he wants his commission in November or December
  16. Evolving software in the cars has resulted in 3 generations, designated MIB1, MIB2 & MIB3. These get badged differently in Skodas, SEATs, VWs and Audis but are fundamentally the same internally. And then you get different price levels - like Bolero (with sat nav), Amundesn (with sat nav) and Columbus (top of the range) in Skodas, or other names in SEATs, VWs & Audis.
  17. Yes I well remember driving with open quarter-lights to keep the windows clear, and the rear window totally misted up (only after-market stick-on window heaters fitted)! And buying clip-on plastic window gizmos so you could drive with the side windows partly open to get a draught.
  18. My order was probably delayed by adding the MY21 Area View option, but at least it's been built now and is on the way. Now if it arrives during lock down, can the dealer still sell it to me as a 'Click and Collect' purchase like other non-essential retailers? The workshops will still be operating I should think so they can prep it for me, so I'm hoping I won't have to wait until the 2nd of December (or later).
  19. The owner's manual certainly suggests we should get internet radio - which has annoyed my wife as I've found Dylan Radio on the web!
  20. What does your owner's manual say?
  21. I just leave mine on the Auto setting throughout the year, with the internal temperature set to 21 or so.
  22. Previous methods of disabling start/stop (by changing the trigger voltage via software changes) apparently don't work anymore. So it's either get used to it (although I understand it's a bit more aggressive than it is in my 2014 Golf) or press the button every time. Most VAG cars hide their wipers under the bonnet to reduce air resistance, and to lift the wipers you have to flick them to the 'service' position first - where they stop at the end of their travel, parallel with the roof pillar. Can't comment on the fuel flap as I'm still waiting for my Karoq to arrive - and despite it being on the way at last, may well get delayed by the lockdown now.
  23. Hi Arsen, yes it looks like you are right. In that case the SSP doesn't mention them, but they also look as if they adjust the beam in some way.
  24. Re adding the News and Weather apps to your car... The Skoda Storyboard website added this page on the 1st of October: https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/press-releases/for-weather-and-news-skoda-launches-infotainment-apps-in-scala-kamiq-karoq-kodiaq-and-superb/ But this also says that the apps are only available for Karoqs with the Columbus infotainment system. So if you have the Amundsen like I will, we are out of luck it seems! Chris
  25. According to SSP116, in the picture below, the left-hand screw is for the low beam side adjustment, the centre screw is for the fog light height adjustment, and the right-hand one is for the low beam height adjustment. A previous thread in this forum linked to the SSP116 and SSP117 documents which are the Self-Study Programmes for the Karoq. PS: Link here:
