  1. It's good to hear you've got a local service franchise But no I've no connection with the motor industry except as a long-serving customer! Or were you wondering about my local dealers? I've got a choice of 4 scattered around me, between 11 and 17 miles away. So it's quite handy to be able to compare deals and cars. Chris

As long as it's before the 1st of January when they will get loaded with a 10% import tariff thanks to Boris!!
  3. Several dealers have closed following covid, presumably the owners have been looking at their profit margins like shops and cutting out the weakest performing. But It's a long way from Inverness to Edinburgh! If I'm up there on holiday, I'd be hoping to find at least a service garage up in the North East! I'd have thought there was a big enough market between Inverness, Perth and Dundee to make a dealership viable? So hopefully Skoda UK will find a replacement for you

So that's five weeks now from build to handover! That'll push mine back to the third week of November then from a build week 42 :(

I was doing that in 2015 too awaiting my Golf SV
  6. I had an email from Skoda UK saying my order had been accepted, and indicating that future emails would tell me when it was 'in production', 'on its way', and 'at retailer'. I'm assuming this was because my dealer recorded my email address and then passed it on to Skoda UK. If you're not getting these emails then your dealer should certainly contact you to ask you to pick it up and collect his sales bonus In practice mine will need to contact me anyway to arrange to have it registered on a personal plate, and I'll then be asking for it to be set to annual servicing, and transferring money into my current account!
  7. Is that a USB-C adaptor though? I'll have a look but surprisingly USB-C drives are actually a lot bigger than some of the old USB drives I've got for my PC. PS: Yes they are! Thanks I'll have to get some
  8. Odd... presumably there's a setting in the radio menu that is telling it to use the DAB rather than the FM (on my Golf I know there's a setting that tells the car to switch to FM when a DAB station fades out). Isn't there a way to store a preset on the FM band so it chooses that? Can you confirm that the SD card reader (and CD player) are not fitted to the Amundsen now? From the manual, it looks like \i will have to transfer my media files from an SD card or CD to a USB drive instead (and put up with it sticking up in front of the gear lever :(

Should do as that after the changeover to MY21 spec.

Titan Covers at https://www.titancovers.co.uk/skoda-karoq-raised-floor-with-varioflex-backseats-2017-onwards-custom-boot-liner/ make various boot covers for differing spec Karoqs. They seem expensive to me, but I don't have a dog to transport, and may meet your needs. I think I remember threads on this forum talking about them, but can't find it t present. Chris
  11. Build week 34 was w/c 17th August, so if that was achieved, 4 weeks on takes you to w/c 14th September. No confirmation from dealer or Skoda UK that it was built then, or transported to the UK??
  12. CJJE replied to KaroqHenry's topic in Skoda Karoq
Right so we just have to wait to see if MY21 cars still have it or not.
  13. CJJE replied to KaroqHenry's topic in Skoda Karoq
We seem to have lost the removable boot torch for MY21 according to the German Karoq forum. But this wasn't listed in the standard spec for the MY20 cars either so I don't know if it had already been removed.

The provisional UK configurator is athttps://cc.skoda-auto.com/visualizer/gbr/en-GB/trimline-scenic?activePage=trimlines&color=K4K4&configurationId=&extraEquipments=&id=GBR%3Bskoda%3B2021%3B5AZFF2%3B0%3BGYE2YE2%3Bmda20200331104014%3Ben-GB%3B%3B64001%3B64001&interior=EO&modifiedPages=&snapshotVersion=d2d1e087-7243-4019-bee4-efdf27f8c33e&trimline=5AF|606400164001&visitedPages= But it's VERY easy to exceed the $40k VED limit (although this doesn't seem to apply to EVs) if you want to match a decent Karoq/Kodiaq spec. And there's no spare wheel option either (: Chris
  15. Enter your postcode on this webpage to find out if it's available in your area: https://getdigitalradio.com/your-stations/ Chris
  16. If you're getting yourself genned up on your new car, have you discovered that you can download an owners manual from https://manual.skoda-auto.com/210/en-gb/Model/Karoq_NU ? It defaults to the latest version, 2020/05, and is the complete manual while I'm told that the car comes with an abridged version of around 170 pages.
  17. If it's 'coming soon' I presume that will be a MY21 car with the new MIB3 Amundsen. There's no mention of this facility in the owners manual, but drivers of the Kamiq which already has the MIB Amundsen software (but with different hardware to the Karoq may be able to advise further
  18. @zhaotielin Fair enough, sorry if I misunderstood your post.
  19. If you already have a Kodiaq, surely you can measure your existing hooks and make them that way? But are you just trying to evade Skoda's copyright design and market your own cheap knock-off copies???

According to Wikipedia, European Karoqs are built at Kvasiny and Mlada Boleslav (and for a time at least also at Osnabruck). Production in 2019 was around 150,000 vehicles (say 3,000 per week). But the cars have to be allocated to Skoda distributors in each European country, and then to each dealer within that country, so the orders have to be managed so as not to favour any particular market or dealer. Although I have seen users of some of the other European Karoq forums (fora??) complaining bitterly about the time they have to wait for their new cars! So perhaps UK buyers don't do too badly
  21. I'm really surprised by this problem as I haven't noticed the marks on Karoq Sportlines in a showroom, and you'd have thought their seats get well used by would-be customers getting in and out of the cars. I'd have thought they would have more bums on seats than most privately owned cars? So is it limited to a particular production period I wonder?
  22. Just had a look at the updated 2021 Ateca pricelist. Don't like the way you have to buy their mix of features with no choice of options... and not impressed by the paint colours. Just how safe would a car in Dark Camouflage be?? Does it come with an insurance surcharge???
  23. One of the weird cars is the Toyota RAV4. If you try configuring it you find that adding a sunroof deletes the option to have a spare wheel! (Presumably due to the weight and CO2 levels?) My local dealer did say he could fit a spare wheel to it anyway, but I took it off my shortlist for other reasons anyway.
  24. No email from Skoda UK saying it's In Production yet??
  25. That's why as far as I am concerned, a spare is essential, and not an optional extra! Any car that can't be fitted with one is of no interest to me as the tube of gunk just ruins the tyre and prevents its repair. It's worth noting that as far as I can see the new Enyaq has nowhere in the boot to put a spare wheel 😞
