  1. As far as the introduction of VED on the EV,s and people home charging off peak then 250 miles or charging for £5 means that you are not doing 250 miles and buying 5 or 6 gallons on petrol or diesel. Your savings in a few weeks of a 500 miles a week has covered the cost of the VED. Business users & Businesses are laughing anyway with the saving running a company BEV rather than an ice and plenty run them with high weekly mileages. It is the Public Charging and private users that are not maybe benefiting financially once paying over £5 for 10 kWh of electricity and not getting 4 miles a kWh. Paying £6-9 for getting 40 miles or less is just not 'Simply Clever' unless there are other benefits, free parking or such.
  2. The Manufacturers give the not clear what the battery size is to potential buyers. Gross or Usable. Nobody is checking their homework among the EU Commissioners. The World Wide Harmonised Testing, is that ridiculous that the World other than EU / Europe -UK could not care less about the cheaters.
  3. Maybe like the the websites for ICE vehicles where people put in their fuel use there is something for EV,s in the UK. Where people log miles and the vehicles efficiency, Real World. It would be great to see which of the EV,s on UK roads that exceed WLTP figures over days, weeks, months, the seasons. Obviously there are some magazine / publications doing Team Tests, Convoy journeys showing how much less than the WLTP published figures they get not driving to a WLTP regime & out on roads.
  4. It was Driving Licence renewal time for me. I will be interested in what classes still have on the new licence, my entitlement to Mopeds, full licence for Trikes, Bike & Sidecar but not Solo Bikes as i have a disabled class. Various other vehicles, provisional or full, but basically Automatics. I could not apply on-line for Renewal. This is £14. Apply by Post is £17. I thought i had to do at the post office & supply the new photo. £21.50 My local Post Office only has the extra staff on a Monday. Never had that for a past month of Mondays. So today the girl can not do it. As on her own. But she had no customers so said lets see. I was sending my Licence in so did not need a picture & she is not DVLA trained but ticked the correct boxes i have missed, the ones probably on eyesight i could only see with glasses and a magnifying glass so had missed. She put in the envelope and addressed it i had to get a Postal Order to pay for the licence. I asked for recorded mail as a couple of documents in with the application, so total £27.45 But better than fingers crossed and a stamp. As to total muppetary. I had got a Photo taken at ASDA £6. Thought i would accept the offer of 2 sets, thinking that meant a discount. No i am am Idiot, i press approve payment, & i got 8 pictures for £12. That was from not having on reading glasses while in the photo booth.
  5. The Tyre Section of Briskoda is pretty useful and has the subject of Winter & All Seasons pretty well covered, and brands and types.
  6. @domhnall I did and do know all about how for comparisons. Pretty much all the BEV WLTP,s are battery gross or net, say 50 kWh and say they do 5 miles a kWh. So 50 x 5 =250. But as we know that might really really for many not even be 4 miles a kWh, so 50 x 4 = 200. But really really the average is 3.7 miles a kWh, so 185. maybe at worst in UK cold weather 3.5 miles a kWh. 175 when doing OK. Great to compare once you know which are nearer to the Possible, Tesla, your Skoda or what ever, and Stallantis vehicles maybe nothing like the WLTP figures.
  7. Not sure on your car but i thought the rev limited was at around 4,700 rpm. As it is since you say the dealership has a good DSG mechanic, they should keep you right. Be sure that all is well or maybe just be full of BS. They will be able to explain the fault codes you have, and if you have not cleared them they can and try the car again.
  8. If someone says a full service history that really means a history of everything done. So just a history they had the car in means nothing. When was the air filter changed or inspected, the fuel filter changed. That should be in the service history.
  9. That might be. Why rev the nuts off it?
  10. Was that the DQ250 DSG getting an oil and filter change? No way should you be manually holding it in gear and taking a TDI to 5,000 rpm. There are DSG, that ignore commands or driving behaviours that would damage them. Hold to too high revs, or dropping 2 or 3 gears ., but there are DQ250,s that do not. My 2016 Alhambra would drop 2 gears if I selected and near stand in its nose.
  11. Has the comprehensive service history got DSG oil changed every 64,000 km or sooner. At 200,000 km when was the last DSG service?
  12. 5,000 rpm? Really you are revving to 5,000 rpm before you shifted! It is not an Automatic, it is an Automated Manual. This is about a TDI and the DSG not a TSI.. the DSG is gubbed at present.
  13. At least who ever said it is protecting their backside and their employers. Taking their Corporate Responsibility seriously. What a shame some send people out with cars that cut out and say to comeback if it does it again and your are not dead. Paraphrase.
  14. @celli What is the warning about on your dash? EDIT. Is this them all?
  15. WLTP Way less than predicted.
  16. VW / Skoda went to VW508 00 / 509 00 for the WLTP Certification. You might have read me saying with Euro 5 or 6 TSI,s to stick with VW502 00, 5w 40 FS & fixed service intervals rather than long life oil, But the 2.0 TSI 245 is not made of chocolate. 0w 30 FS III is fine, but go 5w 30 FS III is you want rather than 0w 20 FS IV.
  17. They have just been facelifted. The only new models coming are BEV,s with the Elroq & Epiq.
  18. There are threads in the Superb section and links and videos There are members of the forum with faster ones, but since it is Jonny Smith i will put this one here.
  19. ^^^ All since 2009, unless some run out model diesels had not as produced well before. Which will not be Yeti,s.
  20. Welcome. If you want to but i would use 0w 30 FS III, VW 504 00 / 507 00 VW 504 00 or 508 00 is the TSI, VW507 00 or 509 00 is TDI.

Probably smart people with a degree, note books, slide rules and computers came up with them. Now just the computer and AI can do it. They can maybe also bother actually checking the tyre pressures and adjusting them which is more than many drivers do.
  22. If only Skoda were as good as getting a new small petrol or EV produced as well as Spoof Video Producers were using AI. They seem to have missed Skoda are using letters not round badges on the front.
  23. The indicators look a bit lacking in design and execution for letting other road users or pedestrians know your intentions. ***The new Abarth 600-e more likely to be the competition rather than 3 door Abarth 500-e.*** I do look forward to getting to drive one of these and maybe even having one as my daily drive. Again i just have a problem with the shiny black plastic trim. Then what is important is how the controls are to use in a right hand drive car as a right handed person. So many oversea road test videos of right handed people in left hand drive cars have them failing to mention how the cars in the UK or Ireland will be different to use. There are many videos of right hand drive cars showing the reviewer with the car stopped and them using their fingers on the right hand to show how easy the controls are to used rather than them driving, watching the road and selecting stuff on a screen in the centre of the car. White. Since we never got to see ^^^^ (eg The Electrifying reviewers, Video / vloggers.) Not just the ladies on that team, the male and many other Vlogger outfits not saying how awkward the car might be to select stuff in right hand drive cars.
  24. You are right suspecting that it needs the clutch packs replaced, but maybe it needs just a reset of the DQ200 bite point. ? How many miles has it done? Was Service Campaign '34H5' ever carried out since 2017, this was a Software Update as a preventative against the issue you had with pressure and cracking / leaks or failure of the accumulator?
