the truth about electric cars
Claiming back £50 for £47.50 is very different from £50 for 60 x 6.9 pence, so £4.14.

the truth about electric cars
^^^ Agreed, a total pith take those getting mileage allowances and actually paying for very cheap off peak electricity. But all a nonsense the very high public tariff and 20%, but then business users getting to claim back on the 20%. A charge to use a charger like where the first kWh is £2, then the following kWh price being a fair price could work. The issue is where the charger cuts out as some can and you are paying again to start a charge.

The Door Locking is a Recall Action Software update & free gratis. £4,500 was someone taking the pith even if it was the Haldex service, it would not have been the DSG or a Cam-Belt, but maybe they did quote on that. Even the rip-off for 4 discs and pads could not have got it to 1/2 of that figure, Oil & Inspection Service, Extended Scope, Pollen Filter, Brake Fluid replaced.

Which engine/trim level would you have?
Maybe less issues with no DPF or AdBlue (SCR) but then a PHEV has a petrol engine with a GPF, the DSG and a Small Battery and plenty computery bits that have been causing issues. Then there is a 1.5 TSI ACT with a DQ200 DSG. A 2.0 TSI seems to have the KISS principle. The thing to consider is the DQ381 DSG, simply because VW are not admitting to fundamental design, manufacturing or material faults yet.

the truth about electric cars
Landfill can produce methane gas which is captured and then generate electricity. There is a ban coming on biodegradable waste into landfill and there should be processing & recycling. There is a ban coming on new incinerators in Scotland but before that comes in there are new plants approved. The ban has been suspended in England.

the truth about electric cars
There is. In and out of 2 doors. Maybe 2 in the back or 3 and luggage if the Driver does not put cases / luggage in the kerb side front door. The point is that Autonomous Vehicles say at Airport Parking or Events taking people to the terminal or event might well be just 2 or 3 seater vehicles. Public Transportation on or not on the Kings Highway in the UK in the not too far distant future. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-65175447 http://bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cr5nvg9nr4ro http://bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cewljvg7jr0o

the truth about electric cars
At the Airport i was able to see a Hybrid Black Cab (White) and a Diesel Black Cab. (Maroon.) Drivers door for the driver and the front door passengers side for Luggage. No seat. So basically 2 doors for passengers, and the front doors are not emergency exits. If there is no driver in the cab then no need for a door for the driver. .............. Part of the Issue for some regions / areas were the requirement for Wheel Chair accessible vehicles for Taxis / Private Hire an the purpose built TAXI people carrier EV,s or Converted People carrier EV not passing some councils rules, or not being suitable for the operator because of the lack of public charging even though the council in that region would allow the vehicles use as a plated vehicle. (Lack of range as they were back with a Nissan NV200.)

? Could you have set in error in Personal settings that the heated steering wheel will come on when there is a certain ambient temperature. I had a MINI Countryman Hybrid loan car a few weeks ago and the regular driver had the Heated seats and heated steering set to come on when it was 10 Degrees C or lower. I had to start the car on GUEST to not have these on automatically.- the truth about electric cars
Dundee Council encouraged EV Taxis, allowed use of Council Car Parks and Chargers, while next door Angus Council were years behind approving EV Taxis. There were Dundee Licensed Taxis taking passengers out of Dundee and to Angus. Angus Taxi Drivers with an EV had to hold a Licence / Plate for Dundee and go from their home location to do their trade in Dundee. It was a farce. ................ There are still Limo Bike / Taxi services, and then there are like this.- the truth about electric cars
Please remember differences with England / Wales & Scotland, and Taxi Licencesand Private hire / Uber. Differences between London and other Cities or Councils. Much the same but sometimes quite different rules and regs. But a cars a car, but not all suitable, 4 passenger min and 4 doors and sometimes no window tints, and sometimes Executive Transport with total privacy glass, and stretched limos. Then Motorbike Taxis, transporters but they appear to be having Insurance issues with paying customers. But then we have Trikes doing Tourist / Visitor trips into the countryside in the 4 countries of the UK. ................ On the radio this morning was a discussion over very large Pick Up trucks being imported to the EU and UK on an industrial scale. Not EU Type Approved vehicles brought in under the IVA which is intended for Individual specialist vehicles, Agricultural, Emergency services, Custom, Modified, Kit builds etc. There are authorities or organisations concerned about the loop hole allowing vehicles in that will not meet EU / UK emission tests, safety tests etc. Radio 5, Wake up to money. @46 minutes. http://bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0023xrn- Particulate filter light in my VRs 245
You are running Long Life oil with cleaning additives, Super Unleaded with detergents, how much cleaning does the engine need. Rhetoric. ? Is there no record of the Spark Plugs being changed. (40,000 miles) PS. The thing about 'Seek the help of a specialist garage'. Well they might think that includes Main Dealerships in the UK, they specialise in taking your money. Lets hope that Forced Regens can do it for GPF,s. Still waiting to hear how much Main Dealers want to replace a GPF.- Just picked up new SEL DSG - some minor unexpected differences to MY2021
@NottsIan Sadly Owners manuals might not get updates. Proof of the pudding will be when you look under the bonnet.- the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher You just take things too serious i think. Open your eyes and your mind, and think before mentioning the rest of the world. Uber cars were allowed up to 16 years old. Things change.- the truth about electric cars
& what if a 6 seater turns up. No driver just a Bouncer. There will be no Pubs or 11 pm or 1 AM in the morning pick ups. No Smoking outside either while pubs still do exist.- Particulate filter light in my VRs 245
I would get E5 Super Unleaded in & run the car. Do not put Cleaners into your tank. Getting a Forced Regen on a GPF is an error i think. Did you speak to a Technician or just a Service Desk Person? Has the car had new Spark Plugs fitted yet?- Just picked up new SEL DSG - some minor unexpected differences to MY2021
If there is no dipstick which is quite likely you check on the screen. Best look at the coolant level and see where that is now. The 2.5 bar (36 psi) is not the recommended pressure for light load or heavy load is it, is there not different pressures shown?- New Renault 5 EV
It is a nonsense if the WLTP figures given keep being something like 4.7 - 4.8 even 5 miles a kWh. ? @lol-lolWhat is the sort of figure you are getting with the Scenic?- the truth about electric cars
& when eventually there are Autonomous vehicles and Private Hire / Taxi / Hackney Carriage / Hansom Cabs there will be a brave new world. No Licensed TAXI DRIVER in a LICENSED AUTONOMOUS CAB. So that is one seat not required. Who knows if there will be 2 passenger or 3 passenger vehicles with 2 doors and a rear hatch. Or 2 doors, one at the front and one at the rear and the car can pull up at a pavement front on or back on. Actually who knows anything about the actual future of personal or public transport maybe 20 years on? PS, Haymarket Media Group / Autocar / What Car have no idea what Elon Musk or TESLA might or might not do in the future. So anything they say or publish is from what they are told or find out. Actually as far as factual stuff their journalists and editor gets lots wrong even with cars they actually are driving and not driving long enough or trying to see how stuff works. PPS. @Graham Butcher Maybe TESLA will not sell them, they might just run their vehicles and own them and place them at suitable locations. They do not have to be as they are now when the Laws an Councils Rules on Hire Cabs, or Delivery Vehicles are changed in the UK.- Just picked up new SEL DSG - some minor unexpected differences to MY2021
Do you have compulsory speed limit warning? (Compulsory in the EU and Northern Ireland, not yet in Great Britain.) Did you get a dip stick? ? Have you checked the tyre pressures it came with and reset the TPMS?- Particulate filter light in my VRs 245
- New Renault 5 EV
Just posted here instead of a new thread on the Renault 4 EV. Looks just like what many will need to get from A-B with passengers or stuff or both. Also back, maybe with a charge needed depending on how far you are going and how much charge there is already in the battery. Maybe not if there is a Nuclear War or the car parks over and underground have been targeted with drones, bombs or Bunker Bombs.- Spare Wheel instead of repair kit?
