Superb Mechatronic issues
They do make millions and Skoda produce millions of DQ200,s for the VW Group Models. But this is a DQ381 with a growing percentage of MCU failures globally and still nothing from VW Group accepting any fundamental design, manufacturing or material faults. The problem is that you are only hearing of the issue on Social Media / Forums because Motoring Journalists appear to be ignoring the Elephant in the room. Still a 80,000 miles Service / Schedule for Oil changes, but many are failing before 40,000 miles or even in the 1st year.

Please help. About oil consumption on Kodiaq RS 2.0 TSI 2024
Welcome @Mironeb76 Maybe read the owners manuals that tells you that it May consume 0.5 litres in 1,000 km (621 miles) so 1 litre in 2,000 km ( 1,242 miles) Maybe more in the first 5,000 km. That is what has been said for 2 decades for all VW Engines from 44 kW, petrol or diesel, 3,4,5,6,8,10 or 12 cylinder. ***First check is when you get the car and where they had the oil at. Cold check & then at Normal Operating Temperature. Reason being it might not be at the full capacity, often they are not. So check, then you might know how much oil is used in 1,000 or 5,000 km.***

My first car was..
@Kenny R Snap. Almost. I had a 1959 Morris Minor first which had been my uncles before i had a licence and it was stripped ready to be customised but it was rotten. Then an Anglia that had been my sisters and still no licence. Then the IMP that had been my dads & was green and i sprayed Navy Blue with White Stripe ready for getting my provisional. But i lost my leg and had to get an automatic so a 1970 mk2 Ford Cortina 1.6 Deluxe auto that the secretary in the garage i was serving my time in owned. Crashed that before passing my test and having just replaced wings & resprayed it so repeated.

Karoq Brake pads and discs
Welcome. Others can help hopefully with part advice. Dingbro Paisley will be better at making sure you leave with the correct part rather than ECP.

Is the Karoq 1.5 DSG any good
As i said, different DSG,s even though both 7 gears. Different weight as well. Lighter front FWD with no rear wheel drive going to come in. Sitting in D stopped and into S with a DQ200 dsg and the RPM rises and it holds just a bit more to going to 2nd then 3rd, but then maybe some wheel spin. Driving back to back is the best way to compare.

Is the Karoq 1.5 DSG any good
FWD & AWD are different DSG,s and then behave a bit different, and there is S maybe for jumping briskly in fast moving traffic, or even a 2.0 TSI.

Welcome. Advice on petrol or diesel will usually come down to how or where you will drive and how far, then age of vehicle, how much your budget is and what size of car needed. The for Sale section is worth a look.

Is the Karoq 1.5 DSG any good
The Manufacturers warranty on a New car covers the DSG including clutches. Best you read the Warranty. If keeping beyond 3 years then extend the Warranty before the car is First Registered for 4 or 5 years. SKODA_Warranty_Terms_July_2023.pdf

Correct Tyre Pressure?
& the ice scraper in the Fuel Filler Flap was not Simply Clever considering the Central European manufacturer never managed so far that the Fuel Filler flap might not freeze closed. That comes from Testing Vehicles in very cold air conditions, dry air rather than like an Island Nation like the UK where there gets lots of slush and condensation and maybe freezing.

Driving modes and gearbox behaviour
@Kaoli Have you done brim to brim checks on similar or identical trips using the different modes to know what gives the best economy, lowest fuel consumption or are you just assuming. Getting a move on and lifting off the accelerator and going into 2 cylinder mode when no load on the engine might be more economic than ECO and coasting. It all depends on roads / location / traffic etc. Different strokes for different folks.

2015 Fabia 31.2 TSI 110 DSG - does this have Hill Hold?
Hill hold assist is only holding the car for 2-3 seconds as you go from the brake pedal to the accelerator. ? So is it doing that, if not then no hill hold assist, but pretty sure it has got it. If not activated / working now then there are threads to check out.

EV used car prices plummeting ,what's your experience?
- Hi from Scotland
@daviemck2006 I hope you said all that to them. It will be read here anyway. There are people that know nothing about cars and do nothing between Services or MOT,s so unless told they will never know what needs doing or might need doing within the next year. But as long as a person has no hearing or talking disability, as in they have a tongue in their mouth they should talk over advisories and any stuff pointed out to them. Then if they think or find out there was Up-selling or trying to take the p!ss tell the person responsible. That is the Manager, Director or the owner.- the truth about electric cars
Is the TESLA Warranty like others that has an Exclusion for Race Tracks or Off-road courses? BMW and VW have that, but then the Media cars were launched with Journalists and others driving them on tracks then those cars were sold to people.- Hi from Helensburgh
Welcome. They might have to get in a man or woman that can. What a bunch and to think the own the colleges. Not always even a case of all the gear and no idea, sometimes not the gear even. http://gtg.co.uk- Tyre change from 215 to 185
@Ben645 What tyres are on the car and have you tried different pressures?- Yeti 2013 1.2 auto DSG failure
If 34H5 was relevant to your DSG then if the car was going into a Main Dealers they should have made you aware of it. It did not always show here. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions Hopefully not a major failure.- Yeti 2013 1.2 auto DSG failure
Welcome. I assume a 13 plate / 2013. It not only needs an Auto transmission engineer but one experienced in DQ200 DSG,s. Could be the MCU, the Clutches, the clutch forks so the diagnosis is required. Checked for leaks. If it is a 2013 it was not part of Service Campaign 34F7 which was 2009-2012 DQ200,s. It might have been part of 34H5, 2013-2015 which was a Software Update. That was a preventative measure because of Pressure Issues and failures. Check if that was ever done between 2017 & now. The common issue there is the Actuator. Repair Kits are available. MCU repairs are as well. Clutch Accuator Solenoid etc. It might even need Clutch Packs replaced. Get the specialist to diagnose.- Tyre change from 215 to 185
Welcome. That is not a wider tyre though, it is a narrower tyre with more Profile (taller sidewall.)- the truth about electric cars
Performance even when reduced might well beyond anything anyone in the UK ever needs or uses. 0-30 or 40, 50, 60 or even 70 mph. Reduced range / miles available with a BEV from a charge also might be as much as many need.- Upgrade brake calipers
Maybe best say what Model of Mk3 you have as a starter. Engine / Gearbox / Trim.- Has the UK market for classic Skodas died?
@Skodle Why was this not the first place you advertised on? - Hi from Scotland
