  1. I drove the New Cupra Born VZ last week but only for 6 miles. Did about 4 standing starts. I liked very much.
  2. I read this morning of Volvo (Geely) suspending sales of vehicles and giving compensation or buying back. Software issues, charging issues, safety issues basically. This is very very much the issue with the latest of vehicles, BEV or ICE. Computer says no. Or can not even communicate with the vehicle. When the screen is where the driver has to do even basic stuff to be able to drive the car then total failure is really really as issue. Then not being able to charge an EV is 'Play stopped'. At least they appear to be a bit better at doing something than the VW Group.
  3. Compulsory 'safety features' on a new car now in 2024 are different from even safety features on a new car from 2023. Speed limiter etc. So they might or might operate differently and 'turning off' or disabling them might be different, so you need to be in a car First Registered from July 2024 in the EU /UK before you will know. & vars in other World Regions might be different again.
  4. No. With the same average speed and time taken for both journeys. Driving the same way does not work, for coasting the toe must be off the accelerator.
  5. The wheels fit. So just fit with the appropriate sized tyres,
  6. @Geoff1959 has not signed in since last year. He might get an alert now though.
  7. And backwards up a slope with a rear wheel drive can help and has for decades. Vans etc. 'Simply cleaver' with a FWD Skoda vehicle on Ice or slush or snow or grass in TC OFF. XDS or XDS+ off if you can holding the button a few seconds because really it can be hopeless as you move and a wheel spins and it nips a brake and sends you off coarse. This is also why reversing can help. That Traction Control / Anti Slip Regulation is not a hindrance in reverse.
  8. An Estate & a Van / commercial version and really have a place in the BEV & Light Goods BEV market.
  9. The last time i weighed a 15" Steel Wheel and tyre to fit a Mk2 or Mk3 Fabia and the Jack & Tools in it that was 19 kG.
  10. Do a search. briskoda dsg second thermostat . Just so you can be aware of this possible issue.
  11. I really could manage with a 22 kW AC charging EV. The issue for me was the seat height and hardness, & no arm rest, so really the cockpit. But if i was to go with cash money to buy an used BEV the Zoe would be top of my list.
  12. Locking Diffs on any of the models, Haldex you might have had, or XDS or XDS+ (nipped the brakes, / cut power) & on vRS you could have the VAQ front diff. Still comes down to what tyres are on the car, and looking for grip / traction.
  13. 'coasting: is when the gears / drive actually disengages and the vehicle is freewheeling. So different from just no load or light load on the engine and an ACT going into 2 cylinder mode. Maybe just do a search 'briskida DSG coasting'. Plenty theads on it, but different engines DSG,s and age of vehicles do it differently as far as modes etc.
  14. A Fixed Service Interval or Regime. Oil & Filter changed at 9,400 miles / 372 days or sooner if you want. Use the Long Life oil if you want but still do the Annual oil changes. Variable / Flexible Oil & Filter Service has Long Life Oil only used. 18,000 - 20,000 miles / 24 months or sooner if you want. This is what the Fixed Service Regime recommendations are.
  15. Bump for @JBez Welcome to the forum.
  16. Time will tell. The truth will out.
  17. I assume it is XL tyres fitted. But the proper All Season XL in my experience even though reinforced sidewalls can by more compliment than Tyres. I would call the everyday tyres cars even SUV,s come on as SUMMER tyres and XL. But truth be told they are fitted to cars in the UK and are supposed to be for All Seasons. Just not all seasons or all weathers suitable for many.
