the truth about electric cars
A Record of Servicing or Inspections at a TESLA Service Station might give buyers a feeling of security. The same at an ARNOLD CLARK Service Centre where it might just be the Brakes that were supposedly given a Brake Fluid change and a Look See and report and a Wash and Vacuum if they bothered to might be a warning. 'Buyer beware'. & not only with BEV,s.

- the truth about electric cars
A FMDSH / Full main dealer service history has never and still does not mean that a vehicle has been Serviced to the Manufacturers Service Schedule, Guidelines, Specifications or advice. It just means there is a History of what Main Dealers have or not done. Often the History can show what was not recorded being done. eg Skoda / VW Approved Used Cars with a FMDSH.- Should I put them "in the bin"?
North East Scotland this week , Royal Deeside and across the Cairngorms, but people often just drive to the conditions in what ever, many visitors from anyplace will be on Summer Tyres.- Is this signalling the end of high performance cars
We have had FIAT,s and other putting on Hazard Lights when there is heavy braking or actually light braking for over a decade now. Also now Skoda PHEV & BEV,s and other manufacturers cars putting the brake lights on just when the vehicle does slowing down with strong or not that strong regenerative braking / retarding speed.- the truth about electric cars
@PetrolDave they allow you to floor the accelerator and over-ride the system. Let you accelerate and pick up speed into an accident allowing you to then blame the driver of the Red Ferrari that you did not consider was going to do an overtake as well.- 3 karoq - awaiting delivery what's the issue?
Good, that should show as an Action on the vehicles history then for future reference. Delivery miles on the vehicle, then PDI and Service Campaign / TPI actions before or during the PDI. Lest we forget in the future, or Skoda UK do with their selective memories.- 2020 2.0 TSI 190 Sportline 34k miles saloon service woes
@Vlady Was that Henry Skoda Glasgow? Not actually Skoda just a franchised dealership.- Is this signalling the end of high performance cars
Skoda have produced cars since your 2020 with gash IT & still failed right up to 2024 to fix many faulty cars and even cars they have delivered in 2024. It will be interesting to see if June 2024 on Skoda,s have Fit for Purpose systems installed or if they will need to delay First Registrations & hand overs. They have been allowed by the DVSA / DfT to get away with putting on the road faulty cars and not doing Service Campaigns let alone Recalls.- 1.5 tfsi dada remap

The introduction of Speed Limiter technology on vehicles should really make some difference to those interested in the higher performance of BEV,s. The acceleration is there but the Government should maybe be looking at just what performance there is available to those with a driving licence or even no driving licence in the UK. Limiters which actually do not allow vehicles to exceed 80 mph on the Kings Highways in the UK seems like simple enough to be activated on all New BEV,s from June 2024. Flaggged markers for over the speed limit exceeded counts should be easy to pull up on vehicles rather like a tacho on HGV,s. That DATA could be available for the vehicles insurers for when a vehicle is due to have the insurance renewed. It will just be relevant to the vehicle as drivers do not log in and out of vehicles, but that tech is available..- Is this signalling the end of high performance cars

Motability own about 5% of BEV,s in the UK & around 13% of new cars registered in the UK each year were bought by them. They now offer for lease to customers over 115 BEV,s and no doubt the manufacturers are offering them better a better deals on new BEV,s to help them get to their 22% first Registrations. The Nil or Low Advance Payments are certainly good, and the Free Installation of a Home Charger for those that can have one. There are those that have got a BEV from them and then regret that once they experience Public charging with them. Remember that not all leasing are drivers of the vehicles. Not all will be doing the charging of the vehicles. It might be & is for many just £11 a day to have your car sitting available, no other expenses other than the Electricity or Petrol / Diesel. No Insurance, Servicing or VED to pay. Even some money back if the car is in a good condition after 3 or 5 years, or when handed back. 34,000 BEV,s & 83,000 Hybrids at the time of this. (They should really say how many PHEV,s from that 83,000 Hybrids.)- 2020 2.0 TSI 190 Sportline 34k miles saloon service woes
@BPL Do you not have a Service Plan Warranty Policy to read the T&C,s and exclusions rather than having to go by what someone says? They can surely show you a copy since they apparently knows the terms.- Paris to Dakar (and back)- oil cleaner in petrol tank, problems in high gears…
No idea what you have already on your car. With the plug leads maybe put a picture up here. @xman is who can maybe tell you part numbers.- Coasting & ECO Mode
'Urban' as in Town / City very much depends what type of town or city roads those are. As to a manual put into Neutral that is one thing that many might never do when moving where the 'Coasting Mode' is part of the Type Approval of the vehicle and something anyone might activate and feel totally comfortable doing.- the truth about electric cars
Now we know what the number of BEV,s that will be going on the UK roads or sitting registered and not on the road with new registrations in the UK will be at the least 22%. There are not going to be manufacturers having more than 78% of ICE cars first registered. & it will be at least 10% of Light Commercials that will BEV,s. As it is in the UK the Government Agency , Local Authority & various Tax Payer funded passenger cars should all be required to be replaced by BEV,s as they get replaced. The Car Parks and Lots where they are kept as fleet vehicles should have enough chargers installed and Wind, Solar & Battery Storage installed.- the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher He was driving past Shell Recharge & Ionity, BP Pulse & Porsche chargers at various trips in and out of Scotland, and repeating again and again. He was sometimes spending the night less than 1/2 a mile from 100 + kW chargers. A member here says he knows him. He is playing a part. Well true, playing as being a prat.- the truth about electric cars
Things have changed lots in Scotland in just 12 months as far as 100 kW / 100 + kW chargers, but they are expensive. The MacMaster was totally missing Ultra Rapid chargers lots of his trips in Scotland quite obviously for affect. The MacMaster did charge at expensive chargers when he could have used his 'preferential charge prices' at Porsche Chargers or Ionity. It was Tesla Superchargers i was meaning as being near Cities & Towns and lots travel not on trunk routes so do require the CPS which are nearly all 50 kWh chargers for cheapness. Those days are over, they are not cheap and can be time restricted which is an issue when also the chargers perform poorly.- the truth about electric cars
I have never watched him before but will go through his vids now and follow.- Would 6.5J x 16 ET46 Octavia wheel fit 2020 Karoq
Welcome. @Carlston might be along to help with the scores on the doors. Until then maybe have a look at the many threads on the subject just for Karoq,s and changing from 19" rims on this forum.- the truth about electric cars
Just looking at my Home Charging @ 22.03 pence a kWh then 4%-100% is taking 32 kWh, and getting 100 miles as a min, that is 400 + miles, 128 kWh for £22.03. 40 mpg would be 10 gallons 45.5 litres @ 145.7 pence, £66.29 Pity i have to Public Charge quite so much when doing more than 400 miles worth from home charging in a month. 50 pence a kWh is OK though. Paying 65 pence a kWh @ PodPoint for a 50 kW charge so so, but then 69 pence and higher is just crazy.- Coasting & ECO Mode
@Gabbo What messes up your theory is that the Test Conditions with the NEDC and then WLTP does favour 'Coasting' and the cheats that VW had with DSG,s / S-tronics and cars during and after the Emissions Scandal. But then using Coasting there are people that can get more range from a tank of fuel than when not using it, and over and over again when comparing the same journeys in different seasons. If people can not do that, or be bothered to check if they use less fuel, that does not mean that others do not do it and know they can use less fuel, maybe even emit less emissions. Same with Stop / Start, or ACT / COD, in the real world 'many a mickle makes a muckle'.- Air conditioner buttons not lit or working
