Leaky ad blue injector???
Best re-read your warranty, know the T&C,s and go on and get the car you bought fit for purpose. Ie, not faulty. Get them to sort it or to have people that know what they are doing sort out the faults. Their pre sale inspection was not up to much if it came with the leak. Why did you clean it up and wait 8 weeks?

Real world recharge rates - what is people's experience?
Those with an EV like you have are best placed to comment, Best say what size of Battery / Car you are talking about. Is it an Enyaq 80? Max charge rate and which vehicle or chargers are relevant. There are vehicles that can max charge only at 50, 100, 125, or greater kW, then 200-350 kW chargers for cars that can take that or it is about amps The 20-80 sweet spot is a nonsense. If you have big battery then getting down to 10% left and the battery pre-conditioned or not has the charger ramping up faster, then the charge might still be fast enough up to 90%. But 10%-70% might be quicker than 20%-80%. You getting the same amount of electricity. So if you want range, 5%-75%, or to 8%, or more. If the charger is only putting out 48kW then maybe best take enough tio get to an Ultra Fast charger. As to power use, you might just be in stop / start traffic for miles and never getting above 10 mph or even 15 mph and using almost none of the charge in the battery. Then the difference of going 65 mph compared to 70 mph, or 75 mph can be surprising. For poorer efficiency. But then it is vehicle dependent, and if there are uphills there are down hills and regening, coasting and going quicker and regening can be good on the range. EDIT / PS Sorry, i see that you say your EV has a max 90 kW charge rate. ? What car is it? Comparing charge rates, or average charge rates of a Tesla & a Tesla on a Tesla Supercharger as in the roadtrip thread is not much help for many other cars / batteries or Chargers of 100 & 100 plus kW. I am away to charge to 98% with a small battery and at 37 pence a kWh because the next charge will be 79 pence a kWh and i will just charge at that cost enough to get me on a Tesla Supercharger non Tesla and paying around 50 pence a kWh. Next charger might be 63 pence a kWh. If i can use less use of expensive charging for me that makes sense. It still is costing more than running a diesel. This is me with a Max 50 kW charging rate and some are good until pretty full at a high charge rate and can be on 50 kW chargers, and some 50,s or 100, 100 plus are not great even from a low battery state and might not ramp up much above 30 kW,s. PPS. Pithed off as DC CCS charger and the only one out of service and had to use the 11 kW AC. Not in a hurry luckily. Horrible horrible weather with high winds and rain so can expect maybe 35 miles for each 10 kWh. That is ok when 37 pence a kWh but not 79 pence.

Trouble starting on cold mornings: ASR Error
This should not be affected by how you lock the door. When you open the drivers door after being parked a few hours the fuel pump primes the system ready for starting when you open the drivers door. Before any key in Ignition or keyless starting. Listen closely next time as you open the door.

Moist Fabia again :(
@Crucian There are threads in the Fabia Mk2 section that might help if you search, and if it is a Mk2 Fabia you are dealing with.

Another engine oil question.
The Skoda / VW Recommended Oil for your engine, variable or fixed service intervals is to VW508 00 / 509 00. So that is 0w 20 FS IV, (Not 0w 30 FS III that was still recommended for some TDI,s after Skoda VW mostly changed them from VW504 00 / 507 00) From 2018 on sort of thing, for the WLTP coming up.

New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
Of course it is not a level playing field. Nobody was encouraging you into ICE vehicles ownership for the past 13 years in the way the Scottish Government was with EV,s. The 60 plus million £ in Grants and loans went part and parcel with those getting grants for public charging to encourage the use of them. The loans and grants for vehicles were for businesses and companies to go to EV,s and the general public and it did use public funds from the EU and the UK. Like farm subsidies and so much else. Common Markets, Common Good, economic unions. Some get much more than others. Some have their hand out more often. Londoners maybe more than most when it comes to the British Isles. PS. Many of us are paying for energy companies to pay EV,s to be charged at times at people's homes. Those with Smart Meters on Schemes that had them getting money or credit many times the actual kWh tariff that others all around the country pay to buy electricity.

1560 miles road trip London to Isle of Skye during Bank Holiday in EV (and in convoy with a diesel)
Nail on head. Many hours for you. Others might get their battery full in 3 or 4 hours on a 7kW charger. And go out and move the car. Somebody can arrive and the 50 kW charger is available, start a charge, go out in an hour or 2 max and move the car. Use their loaf and not assume that several of more other EV drivers will not turn up in the next 10 hours maybe. The chargers might be out of view but really should not be out of mind. Think of others. 10 hours to get under 70 kWh is only too common around Scotland with big battery cars. Too common that the 7kW AC is cheaper than the 50 kW DC might have cost but would have been over and done in 90 minutes.

Examples I give are normally repeat offenders who locals know and usually have my posting there car on a website. Especially if a Company Car /Taxi with a name on it. Or a Van.

@Luckypants others might want you to move your car after you get settled in even if you are just on a 7 or 11 kW AC. If you can get a 90 mins rapid charge and then move the car great because there can be people that need on the AC and not someone plugging in for 10 hours. At Premier Inn I have a choice of Osprey or Genie point within 100 yards and a reduced rate between 7pm and 11 pm. 63 pence instead of 79 pence. Means nothing to many but when tight, short arms and long pockets it is worth the bother. Or no bother. As it is loads of chargers popping up now are around the back, not showing in all Apps and not getting used much.

@Luckypants there are greedy barstewards that will drive a little bit from home to charge for hours at free to use visitors attractions leaving the car and the location. Now I have used many a free charger for an hour's or 2 to get maybe 20 miles range or 40 because that is what I need. But as for not being with the car and obstruction those actually needing a charge I just do not do it. My last 4 charges have been 3x 20 kWh a time at 79 pence a kWh. And 15 kWh for no cost and the next charge will be at 37 pence a kWh but not until I need the £5 minimum it will cost me. So maybe 1 charge at that, then the next charge to 100% will be 55 pence a kWh. It is Bl00dy expensive charging and some cheaper to bring things back near using an ICE car. PS crazy when 7/11 , 22 AC costs the same as 43ac / 50 DC like at a Grid Serve, or Osprey / Genie point. Or even a council like Angus and 55 pence across the board.

@Graham Butcher stop expecting that someone does this or that. Scottish national trust entry is expensive, a rip off unless a member really which I am. As to the Robert Burns Museum car park, actually one that you can drive into without any cost to. But this is like the Falkirk Wheel grounds, or using the Falkirk Wheel with a canal boat.. National lottery funds or part funding projects can then mean free facilities maybe like access or parking. Not to all parts of things, partners might charge for events or serviced. Again Scotland is no England. There can be difference. Crown Estate, Common Good Land, Council or Trust funding. There is a welcome in the hillsides and not just in Wales. Well also not everyplace now for motorhomes.

Actually the £21 million or whatever the Robert the Bruce Museum was to cost back 13 years ago had lots of funding from lottery, or Scottish Heritage or South Ayrshire council etc and for a SNT property. @Graham Butcher when I say Free charging I mean free to the person getting the charge. Obviously the electricity costs, and can be costing people without cars. But so does pollution and emissions and the Triple Lock and much else cost them. But as this is Scotland and the Electricity keeps costing us all that use electricity or pay bills then so be it. I would rather someone gets a free charge in Scotland than down south on the UK the likes of yourself has a low home tariff yet your getting expensive imported electric.

Stone chips on bonnet - a lot more than I would expect to see.
I see a stone chip to the left of the picture but with picture enlarged that looks like 2 touched up bits or blobs on paint, imperfections.

Has anyone disabled start/stop on their mk4?
@john1952That must be in town where you are in 40 or 50 or 60 mph limits because the lane assist does not operate under 37 mpg.

Two annoying and unusual faults. Help appreciated.
The service plan is a Skoda and is it not and not just with Henry's? Is the service plan not fixed / annual so at 1 year just and oil and filter service?

ULEZ and other similar schemes we are being told are all about clean air for everybody but are they really just a means of making money from motorists?
There must be a car event near Edinburgh today and plenty older, customised and loud and quick cars still around from the last Hoorah in Edinburgh before the LEZ came in. PS. Bo'ness car show.

the truth about electric cars
The thing is @KenONeill/ AKA @Paws4Thot you can turn off the sounds. As for being where others are making the noises you can stick your fingers in your ears, that is just much like 'Blocking members'.

Victoria garage Maud is 180 miles by road from Glasgow. @moomaloo Where are you actually? Is going to Perth or Inverness out of the equation? Best not put off have warranty work carried out. When or where are you going to get the car serviced, or are you not having that done on a Fixed Service Regime or at an Approved Repairer / Main Dealership.

Engine oil ?
With the TDI i would stick with the 0w 30 FS III VW 504 00 / 507 00, and when the warranty is up still stick with it as no need to go to the 5w 30 FS III. http://opieoils.co.uk

the truth about electric cars
Many people say that very same thing. Reason it is not only 5 litres though is they do not come off the Transporter at the Dealership with the reserve light on. So more like 8-10 litres is put in.

the truth about electric cars
Skoda did not sell many Mk2 Fabia vRS hatches new in the UK, under 3,000 of them and not many world wide. But the Hatch is 9 3/4 inches shorter than the Estate, would have had better performance times and efficiency than the Estate or the Polo GTI 3 or 5 door or the Ibiza Cupra, and the same VED band as the more expensive sister cars. VW cunning stunt and Skoda,s is to design, test and manufacture 25kG of Ballast weights and bolt them to the rear crash bar. Result being the Kerb Weight is given as 5 kG more than the estate, the car goes light under acceleration and there is more wheel spin on the narrower tyres the sister cars have. The Polo got the battery in the boot, the sister cars spare wheel was an option, so that is 19kg less for the test cars for the official Kerb Weights. (Which were later revised because they were false. The sister cars can have a tow bar and tow, the Skoda Twinchargers can not. While others 'Add lightness', VW sand bag the car rather than just fit appropriate springs and dampers. Vorsprung Durch Technik. Save a few grams, and add many Kg and materials to be sure the lighter and faster car which is cheaper is that no longer.

Remote fob not working after battery change
? Who would the manufacturer of any batteries branded with Skoda or VW be?, because Skoda do not manufacture batteries.
