the truth about electric cars
The world does need the oil, but not necessarily to run Pick Up Trucks as an image booster rather than as work horses. But then there are places that want the oil from elsewhere, like the UK. From Russia still via other countries where it goes to be refined. Oil & Gas from the UK heads off to other countries and then maybe comes back or just leaves and oil from other world regions comes back. High time England got the oil out of the ground that is supposedly there, and frack the f**k out of where ever the gas is, coal gas etc. Get on with getting the lithium needed as well. Good luck with the drinking water then. Good luck with clean air as well.

^^^ & VW Group were behind others in getting engines WLTP Certificated and had to delay delivery of vehicles. Bunkering them. The 1.5 TSI ACT Manuals were a problem from the old testing to the WLTP, so they do a Engine Management tweak for the WLTP and stuff the drivers buying the cars and getting landed with a Lack or Torque and 'Kangerooing'. So they eventually had to admit to cars being unsafe, take some in and lend other cars for months. Then come up with a Software Update that still has some ars running like sh!te. They never had to Retest vehicles with the Re-map though. VW are the ones that get away with whatever, because the German Authorities answer to the EU and who is the boss in the EU?

the truth about electric cars
This weeks i watched the Native Americans riding their horses across the very beautiful sacred lands that are going to have lithium mining on them or near them. I watched a longer version later on and there was there Pick Up Trucks and Horse Trailers. Built from materials mined at other people lands, and maybe from fuel from there.

the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher The video under his (London to Edinburgh) where the Scottish person drives from Lockerbie to his home in the south of the UK in a Renault EV with some charging sessions including at a Porsche Dealership The MacMaster uses, but using a Shell Recharge card. (As i used a Shell Recharge card yesterday at Ionity.) I posted the video below the BMW i3 vid where The MacMaster is with the people who are collecting a New Skoda Enyaq. (His titles are usually click bait.) When we use chargers so often even though they are different with different providers anyone with a bit of a memory remembers the sequence. As to the 1/5 th of EV,s needing to be First Registered it is more than a 1/5th, 22% this year in the UK. Hard to believe he has not ready that and has no need to be asking other, and repeating and repeating. But Clicks means prizes. 10% of vans.

Finally media journalist reviewers get to show them being driven. Left hand drive though and controls to your right. Very different when you get a right hand drive, and you might be right handed and the crap on a touch screen is to your left. & then.

As to Youtube and clicks and peoples opinions. Pre Youtube videos, really pre Internet / World wide web, there were people that paid attention to things and their vehicles and remember what happened when. If you got a new Toyota in 2010 in the EU / UK or other world regions you might remember, or really not give a damn. Leave it to the dealership, they know best. Well some worked at dealerships and not just out front where the BS is at it,s greatest. Or in the Media Department of the Manufacturers, or in the Motoring Press where adverts are more important than impartial reviews or tests. eg Haymarket Media Group. Heycar.- Toyota: 0w-8 Engine oil. Test results might be far off real world. the old EU /European testing & WLTP. But still VW Group & others needed to cheat the testing. The Motor Manufacturers are Global and there is the EPA in the USA, and in other World Regions they could not car less about the WLTP because the World Harmonised Test is not accepted all around the World they way that is done. Toyota did have to act on the figures they gave in the change from Euro 4 to Euro 5 and did do a change of oil spec after the Euro 5 cars were already with customers. So as much as it might be a nonsense there are those that might not bother to look into things talking nonsense. It was not just fuel consumption figures and the cost to owners, it was emissions figures that were false / inaccurate / fiddled / cheated. http://bbc.co.uk/news/business-29887117 This was after the reveal of the 2015 defeat device scandal. This was VW, SEAT tested at VW,s chosen facilities, not any Skoda,s. http://autocar.co.uk/car-news/business/vw-emissions-scandal-nine-vw-vehicles-have-false-co2-ratings Euro 6 emissions cars. Only 'scrap value' Valuable used battery, and maybe parted out it is worth more than trade in or to buy offers.- the truth about electric cars
I posted his videos in case someone might not know the context of the 2nd video. Sir Arnold Clark got where he was selling many thousands of used vehicles over the decades and many many have been faulty. The Group since his death continue in the same vein of total incompetence at all levels but really some mud and senior management. Sales and Service staff can be really really hopeless.- New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..

Was that a drug dealer taking their own product, or maybe someone on the Service desk that never bothered expanding on the TPI, or was it a technician that could not be bothered. Ask what the TPI is all about and is your nearly new TDI part of this. PS The filling station staff will know if the dozens of customers that buy their diesel have been getting dodgy diesel from them. As would local Garages or Dealerships. Highly unlikely that but then 'DEALERS STAFF' make it up as they go along.- the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher Really not guff. A guy came up to me and asked if it was the NEW Electric MINI and how far does it go. I told him it was not the NEW one not yet out and about 110 miles but more in this weather. Then he went on about the MacMaster. I told him b0llocks to the MacMaster.- the truth about electric cars
I was being told today by a guy that EV,s are no use and i i seen this guy with a Porsche that is not worth anything now and he can not sell it.- New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
Exactly. Heat can be a waste product and no need to to take it into the cabin when available if cold. It can be with EV,s as well but heat is no use without ventilation and for many a decade people had no AC but also not damp interiors. We know he is doing stuff for affect and might not always be a d1ck. Sometimes he must sleep...- DSG recall !!!
@Superted What is all done? New engine cover on 'tick'. Was any action needed on the Heat Mat or just checked and no action? Was there anything else?- New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
@Graham Butcher Thanks for that on AC. But again teaching egg sucking. We (some Briskoda members) all the time each winter on this forum explain about using it when people speak about frozen interior glass windscreens to reduce moisture left in the vehicle and it freezing. People thinking saving fuel is more important than safe and comfortable driving. It does not work on your car if it is 2*oC or lower, or maybe 3*oC on your car. Too many EV,s are driving about steamed up inside. the main man on Fully Charged Robert Llewellyn has been guilty of it often when filming driving EV,s. Steamed up side windows and unsafe driving IMO. Too many Motoring Journal Roadtester are driver or driver a 1 other in a car. That is maybe not important for the weight difference rolling along, but it is different from the sears occupied, the passengers comfortable and the car not steamed up and freezing overnight, or until preheated & windows maybe open. EV,s really can benefit from Wind Deflectors for cracking open a widow. Passengers, Animals in cars, not only when driving but in the car while charging, maybe having a nap. Not all charger hubs are sheltered, or near places with food, or toilets, or if they have they might not be open. Then not all can afford to travel and eat in places with crazy prices. BP Filling stations with BP Pulse chargers being stupidly expensive to buy munchies at. & to charge at.- New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
@ Greggs / Starbucks Westhill Aberdeen. ESB 6 X 300 kW Dual Charger. 12 plugs. 74 pence a kWh. @ McDonalds, meters away, Ionity 12 350 kW chargers, 71 pence a kWh. @ Tesco PodPoint, Rapid 62 pence a kWh.- the truth about electric cars
Well good Charging hubs are going up nicely around and about Aberdeen. Aberdeen By-Pass route to Airport / Inverness A96 route. Westhill has beside McD,s 12 Ionity 350 kW @ 71 pence, & 6 x dual Alpitronic 300 kW chargers (12 plugs on the ESB Network at Greggs 74 pence a kWh. PodPoint Rapid at Tesco 62 pence & not that far away the Park & Ride @ Kingswell 47 pence rapid and 4 or more hotels near with chargers installed or going in. including Holiday Inn. There are a selection pf places with AC chargers about as well. I did 55 mpg from the Turbo diesel, & then had the new old Style MINI Electric to drive for 50 miles and put it on an Ionity charger before handing it over to the new owner. I was getting 6 miles to the kWh on the OEM tyres which were at 45 PSI. 8.3 kWh to charge @ 71 pence was £5.90. Or would of been i was using a Payment card.- the truth about electric cars
Diesel is a good choice. I am setting off to do 160 miles in a diesel. I will get 53 mpg on the route i am doing, 70 mph Average Speed cameras half of the distance. The thing is about the 800 mile trip in cold weather in an 03 V8 diesel Audi having put in 19.8 litres of fuel. (Top gear Magazine article said 19.7 gallons. Just for a matter of actuality.) Cold breath to show how cold.... Not letting heat out of the heater vents is for daffties. You really do not AC to stay warm do you, you can have 16 or 17 even 18*oC inside the cabin of a diesel and not be using fuel the can not be saved by going 1 mph slower. So if i do 400 miles in the BMW Estate i am driving today i would use say 9 gallon, less than the 50 mpg i can get. 41 litres. @ 160 pence a litre. £65.60. If i get 40 mpg like Jeremy Clarkson might, then 10 gallons. 45.5 litres. £73 .......................... If in a Tesla with it getting 4 miles a kWh then 100 kWh @50 pence a kWh. £50. 1 stop to Ultra Rapid charge. A Tesla having to use a BP Pulse @ 69 pence £69.00 @79 pence = £79. If the Tesla got 3.5 miles a kWh @ 55 pence charging Tesla Super Chargeing, for 400 miles. 114.3 kWh. £63. If i was in the MINI Electric i would need to spend 50 minutes each 100 miles to charge to do the next 100 miles.- the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher the readers likely got the idea a long long time ago. You really are pointing out the obvious. Pages and pages of how EV,s are not as good as ICE vehicles, and cost more to run if needing to pay for public charging. This is a car forum, we know how many miles a gallon or litre cars can do and how bigger tanks hold more litres and efficient ones go further. The other day i was ready to stop charging before 50 minutes and went to help someone get charging and forgot about time, went back to stop charging and it was at 99%. Charger showed £17.20 & when i get home and check it is £21.20. I went to 54 minutes so charged £1 a minute extra. .......... 14 gallon tank not 19 gallons. 15 and an ickle gallon in. Heating, de-misting or AC used as needed. No radio on part of trip because you do not get it over The Lecht... - Toyota: 0w-8 Engine oil. A vid.
