  1. @Graham Butcher I have the photographic memory. i know. If you are going to post miles / years, then learn them. But from the correct source. Cam Belt Guidance change (1) (1).pdf
  2. 5 years / 50,000 miles. As i said, UK unique. Dust free country. But then the Water Pumps were and still can be ****e.
  3. It is not about plans. That is what has Dealerships changing vehicles from Variable to Fixed. Because there is a Service Plan, or a Maintenance Plan for the Owner, or the Fleet or whatever. It is the OIl & Filter Service that is on Variable other than with the ones i just posted about. Servicing and Maintenance Schedules / Plans are that Servicing & Maintenance, consumables, adjustments. Much of which never done. An Oil & Filter change might be just that, and some look sees. Fixed Regimes as were. Used to be Minor / Major, time about, then became called by Skoda Interim / Major. Then 2018 this turned up with the Oil Change, and cheaper. When on Variable / Flexible & first Service was at 2 years people were ripped off charged for a MAJOR Service when it was a Interim / Minor only but with a pollen filter change. (The Cambelt stuff 5 year / 50,000 miles was the UK being treated different from the rest of the EU / Europe.)
  4. @Graham Butcher In the EU they all leave the factory on Variable / Flexible Service Regimes, 24 months /18,000-20,000 miles, any change is done to fixed at the PDI. That is other than the 1.4 TSI or 1.5 TSI in the PHEV,s. The Citigo / Mii / Up! also were on Fixed Service Oil & Filter changes. Maybe the TSI in the UP! was on Variable.
  5. Plenty idiots seem to think a Hybrid is an electric car. They can be amazingly efficient, if driven efficiently. PHEV,s are the absolute kidology vehicle for many. But then can be perfect for those running within the battery range on cheap tariff or free to them electric. The Internal combustion engines of the VW group models require Fixed Service Regime Oil & Filter changes though. Engines that might occasionally over a year fire up and run for a few miles only.
  6. The state of the new legislation is that New Type Approved vehicles now require to have as standard the new SAFETY stuff. Cars leading up to the New Legislation were the Test Beds, & R&D for the stuff that was coming and is now here. Not all New Cars are New Type Approvals though, as a All New MK3 FABIA when launched in 2014 was not a New Type approved car from a Mk2.
  7. We can all use them as a comparison. Also comparisons when it was pre WLTP, and cheating went on. But @Luckypants while you might never match or better the comparison figures in a petrol or diesel there are others that can as they did with the NEDC, and they were done on rolling roads. Tyres over inflated, maybe VW group diluting the Diesels engine oil with diesel. etc etc.
  8. Yes sadly you are. There might be different WLTP figures and Adblue used but DPF,s still get choked, Warning lights show and they can stink doing regens. (Before 30,000 miles & 2 years my 2016 2.0 TDI SCR DSG was just sipping Adblue and doing great mpg on runs, and 5 days or 5 miles of driving with cold starts was doing 25 mpg if that and the DPF light would come on.) But there is something far wrong with the 2023 TDI with 34,000 miles if there is diesel diluting the oil. (That was the VW trick that they did at the NEDC, put diesel in the engine oil...at test facilities of their choice.)
  9. Really it is the EU and the WLTP that is the nonsense. Not actually Worldwide Harmonised Vehicle Test Procedures that might relate to driving vehicles in places on roads to anything other than to how a WLTP regime has a vehicle driven. Not real world use. Plenty people can drive an BEV in a manner to get the figures given. But that does need ideal conditions, and much of a lack of speed. If the cars can not do the EPA range, or what might be given as the range in South Korea or other world regions then there might well be court actions in those global regions. PS BEV Cars or Vans starting as default in Normal Mode, Mid Mode or what ever might well not be as a driver then drives. Just as with an ICE vehicle that has Stop / Start on and the driver turns Stop / Start off for their Town / City / Urban Driving. Then starting BEV,s the Regen might well be as a default at Max and the driver changes that. PPS Given today's weather and i have the tyre pressures high or the narrower option tyres i could head out now with a full battery and exceed the WLTP Range for the Mini Electric. If i could be bothered doing the 145 miles in around or over 3 1/2 hours and not just 3 hours. ................. He does not have the heating off. It shows as at 16*oC on the heater nobs. He has the AC off. There would be - - on the heater if in GREEN+. So he is in GREEN mode or he said he selected that. He could be in GREEN + and then the Heating and AC would be off and performance reduced but you can still do 70 mph. You can still do 93 mph. There is SPORT , MID, GREEN & GREEN +.
  10. @Boki02 Is the car right or left hand drive, and what country are you in?
  11. OT. But i have new seen a few people charging their new BYD,s and they were cars leased from Motability. They will get a good few thousand sold to them, as will the other manufacturers of EV,s because they must be letting them buy them very cheaply.
  12. @Boki02 Do we assume that you are in a right hand drive car and driving on the left, like in the UK. It is just that usually the posts are ' My car pulls left' as to the kerb / verge. ? How long have you had the car, has it always pulled to the right? Are you paying money to these people to check the alignment and make any adjustments required and are they actual mechanics or Tyre & Exhaust fitters. Tyres come with run out stripes. (Not a lot of people know that #Michael Caine)
  13. @J.R. Really. It is like people do not have cars and need telling what they have. Mine do, that is how they are fitted, cut to slide under a bit to protect the carpet. My hammer is in the elastic of the Holder on the Sun visor were my cards for starting chargers is. It has been there for decades on 4x4,s or under the drivers rubber mat under the seat. But that might not be what suits you.
  14. @J.R. Obviously if you can not reach under the mat under where your seat slider is then do not put it there. (If you are a short hand typist, or is that armed?) Feet for dancing, brain for thinking. Sit in the car, with aforementioned hammer in hand and then see where you need it to get to it, then have it secured where you can reach it.
  15. They are going to be up sh!t creak. Talk of having to limit what petrol's and diesels they are going to import and offer for sale. (Ford) Mild hybrid,s are not going to help them getting to 22% first registered. They are going to have to be First Registering lots of BEV,s and selling used. Well renting them cheaply.
  16. You want to get to it while seated and belted in. Drivers door pocket. Velcro or Rubber band mounted if you are going to be driving into a canal or river and attempting to escape or just going to crash and be locked in the car. Or even if getting out and going to smash someone else's glass. Or under the drivers mat,
  17. When were the spark plugs replaced? Are you running it on E5 97 or 99 ron unleaded? Just choose a local trusted person that can remap the car and that is that. A nice clean Air Filter fitted. Brakes serviced, upgraded if needs must. Be sure you an get insurance at not too much of a silly price if it does cost you more.
  18. @JA2H First, questions. ? How long have you had it, How many miles has it done, Has the Timing Chain and Tensioner ben changed / Upgraded if it is a pre upgrade one? Does it run well now, no issues, no engine rattles?
  19. Welcome. What power of 1.2TSI is it now? No idea why you hit a brick wall in as far as modding, tuning, the Remappers do 1.2 TSI,s. Maybe have a look in the Fabia Project section and see what others have done. Then there is 14 years of threads in this section with people getting remaps or using tuning boxes.
  20. Welcome. Yes you have a fault. Are you contacting Skoda Assist to have your car collected and a Hire car delivered or are you taking it to the Dealership. The AA guy could have arranged that.
  21. Damn expensive local council chargers. But then those with the more expensive EV,s might stay in houses with the highest council tax, and might even be higher tax payers. But then again if you know who it is with the cars you know there is no 'might' about the houses.
  22. Things are changing so to get back to EV,s and TESLA Cybertuck. The Media World, Motoring Press /Publishers were Fan boys, the Car Manufacturers Advertise with them, take Journalists to lovely places full inclusive to reveal cars and have them reviewed. We have had them being 3 monkeys for many decades. Car Manufacturers even have ownership of publishers and online companies. But now there are the 'Anti Ev' side of the media, or media owners. There are those that are against Elon Musk or Tesla, or both and then Elon Musk's Social Media organisation. It has been long enough getting to where the Media might get torn into the German Manufacturers and their failures or manipulations. No hiding for TESLA anymore when they are getting it wrong or for many other companies. If the main stream / establishment media do not get the facts out then Social Media can. Or versions of facts with lots of speculation and much that is just guff. ................... Credit to VW when they do act and get on improving things / models.
  23. @thomasaspin Has a Build Project thread you might want to read covering that with a Mk2 Fabia vRS.
