the truth about electric cars
@Stonekeeper We know that stuff. It is a constant in the Media, Tell King Charles about his BEV, and his buddies in other Royal Families, Saudi Arabia, even Qatar with their money in VW. Tell Rishi Sunak, Grant Shapps, Jeremy Hunt. Tell the Politicians around the world. Ask them the harm they do stealing others resources, & wiping out innocent people because of oil & gas and minerals which the greedy barstewards want for other greedy barstewards that want to drive 10 miles for every litres of liquid fuel or less and 3.5 miles for every kWh of electrucity.

Škoda Superb III 2020 2.0 TSI SportLine DSG oil change
The Service Guidelines, Recommendations, Advice, Specifications, Schedule for a DQ381 Oil Change according to VW / Skoda is @ 80,000 miles. Ridiculous. & get the Filter changed as well. It never has been at 4 years with DQ250,s unless the car was on 40,000 miles at 4 years.

Škoda Superb III 2020 2.0 TSI SportLine DSG oil change
There never ever has been a Year Requirement. Does the service plan include the servicing of a DSG in the price? Is Brake Fluid Changes. Is the Air Filter even if the car has not covered 60,000 miles. (Check it annually.) It was nothing for DQ200,s. 40,000 for others 6 Speed Wet Clutch DSGs, 80,000 for DQ381,s. Some are having them done sooner. Some are having MCU issues / failures.

Does the 1.5 TSI Have Rear Disc Brakes?
Once it has Auto e-Brakes, seat belt off, drivers door open then use the switch and put the Parking Brake off. .................... It would make sense to have the Rear Disc Brakes JUST on 1.5 TSI ACT DSG,s. So we need to hear from someone that has seen them without.

the truth about electric cars
There is lots polluting the world and the UK. But people in the UK voted in this Government and have to accept it is what they want doing. They will get what ever the next government is. You all took back control. Crazy barstewards. They are seemingly 'stopping the war on motorists'. So that is good. Currently anyone can almost drive anything they want in the UK, within the law. So fill your boots, fill your tanks, and fill your lungs with lovely fresh air.

the truth about electric cars
I just heard the end of the BBC Scotland MORNINGS show. with Kaye Adams and the Consumer Expert was on. I will listen later to the callers whole story. (Not yet on BBC Sounds.) I just caught the bit it is leased with Salary Sacrifice. Problems with it and he said. 'You can not charge it above 80% for the first 6 months', so that is a loss of 100 miles.' I am interested what he has and what the issues are. But most of all who is feeding him guff like the 80% thing.

the truth about electric cars
No shortage of Oil globally, or around the UK for lubrication.. It is just that once it is then turned into other products there is no need to burn it to fuel engines to get private and light commercial goods and passengers cars moving around. Now no need for public transport busses either. Will we see the Leaders of the Conservative & Unionist Party & Scottish Leader & the Labour Leader & Scottish Labour Leader visiting Ineos @ Grangemouth pre election or will they be up at Nigg, Ardersier & Aberdeen as usual. Same with the Leader of the SNP & First Minister. The jobs are going and the money to the treasury. Maybe some of the pollution as well. In Aberdeen you have Hydrogen Busses, Vans, Bin Lorries & Cars.

the truth about electric cars
Lots of surplus generated electricity in Scotland where the National Grid is not connecting and taking it and where it needs used locally or not used. Big investments announced this week oop north on 2 ex Oil Rig Fabrication yards. That is East of Inverness and north of Inverness oop north. But still the big pylons need building to take the electricity south. Wind, Wave, Solar & Hydro. http://alvancebritishaluminium.com

the truth about electric cars
They are not targeting very hard. The places and fleets with Hydrogen Vehicles are mainly in the North of the UK as in Scotland. Where there has been money put into the Inftrastructure. Honda were doing Hydrogen around Swindon. Took the money and then dropped that. After built using petrochemicals BEV,s are not using around 1 litre of the product refined from oil to go 10 miles, passenger cars that is, maybe even 7 seaters with 1 seat ocupied. & the refining uses a lot of Oil & Gas to generate the electricity to run the refinery, unless it is maybe Nuclear generated Electricity, but then that is not happening just now in the Ukraine. ........................ Lots of Electricity used to build vehicles and components but there is renewables generating quite a lot of that for industry now. Then 2 in every 5 cars built in the UK are Electrified. Lots of MHEV & PHEV,s. Less are BEV,s. Electric MINIS will be coming in from China now for the next couple of years at least.

the truth about electric cars
Apparently the world wide copper shortage could be an issue in the transition to greener vehicles. So that will be that then, until the next shortages of what ever. Maybe the will to live, or the total apathy over the whole hole in the ozone stuff. Maybe when the 'FIRE' buttons after the Codes are loaded there will be nothing to debate.

Does the 1.5 TSI Have Rear Disc Brakes?
@VAGCF If you look harder you will find out how to leave the e-Brake off. Necessary for servicing and other reasons, like rolling / pushing a vehicle. Wheel changing etc. Including winter parking.
-
the truth about electric cars
It will be the motors and the connections within batteries and all the gubbins. As to the weight of the copper that might be right. I do not write the stuff just ask the search engines, then another maybe, phone a friend, get the word on the street and last and least listen to The MacMaster or Geoff and their stuff that they read or heard.

Service changes needed at 80k miles
There will be all those that have also run diesels and only ever put in the tank what comes out the diesel pump at UK filling stations and had no EGR or DPF issues. But it is only money so people can do what they lie with it. Fleet managers might even have had vehicles run using the magic additives and others not.

Does the 1.5 TSI Have Rear Disc Brakes?
@Tintowellfan My thread is on here with pictures from the Corsa electric from 2020 that i had for 3 years and had the 3rd replacement discs fitted after it went through the auction when Motability sold it at 3 years. They needed replacing before the dealership could sell it to some poor person that was landed with it. That is from the first rears replaced after the winter in Scotland and under 8,000 miles. But then the brakes really never got used, but it did plenty of miles passing through your way & further north in the hills. But then cleaning off the rears rust with a e-brake is near impossible. & As soon as you touch the brake pedal the car stops. As for Fabia rear discs. I am further north than you, and there is much more salting, and the discs rust for fun.

Does the 1.5 TSI Have Rear Disc Brakes?
The issue has been for many many years with Fabia and Citigo is that while Skoda Servicing showed wheels of and inspect brakes they did not and do not do that. As for Disc Brakes, that is the common subject all through Briskoda sections, Crap rusty discs that at main servicing the Service Staff say are 80% worn. Especially around your way @Tintowellfan But then that is Park,s & Arnold Clark,s usual. Tesla,s have regen braking, but there are still discs and behind aero covers and no crud. VW EV,s have rear drum brakes, but then they are rear wheel drive and there is regen braking. There are aero covers on the front and rear with some. with steel wheels, no crud. Actually it is often cars parked road side that have the drivers side discs with the worst rust in winter from the water / brine from salted roads splashed through the alloy wheels. I am pretty sure that is the same in Lanark.

Service changes needed at 80k miles
Or just fill up with Premium Diesel at a filling stations as extra detergent package is in that. @yeti99 A 2013 TDI does not have a tank for Adblue. Pollen filter. Air Filter. Brake Fluid replaced. Diesel filter. What ever, when ever depending on when done or checked previously.

the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher Got that as well. If you are charging at Public EV chargers it takes longer than filling a fuel tank and might cost more than liquid fuel takes to cover more miles. This is the truth of EV,s for those that can not charge cheaply at home or at work etc. ? Anything else on the Truth of EV,s in the UK? Might catch fire, might get the battery flooded, might depreciate more than other vehicles. Might cost more to insure, might cost more, less or the same to service than an ICE vehicle. Might be economic for business users to run as well as home chargers, which is why people are running them.
