Fabia III accelerates/maintains speed on its own after releasing the accelerator pedal
@Warrior193 I thought the 1.0 TSI was with a GPF from 2018 not 2017. They replaced 1.2 TSI,s and had no GPF at first.

Tires for 2017 L&K 220 Hatch
@Smudger2 Was that me describing Primacy 4 as fitted to PHEV,s and BEV,s like the Corsa Electric i had as Ditch Finders. They were for that application, hopeless in damp, cold, wet, slush, snow or ice. With instant torque from the off they could just spiin or have the cars cut power. But there are different ones, and sizes, and weights of car.

DPF
@Adzalot Are you looking at buying a car and concerned over problems / issues with a DPF? Does the car drive OK, and how many miles has it done & how does the past MOT,s and advisories look if there are any?

Skoda Fabia 1.4 tdi 2009

Mechatronic unit failure .. :(
@ballcock What car / Engine Size, ? That helps give an idea of what gearbox you are talking about. That is a bit cheap for a New MCU & fitted, compared to what others are paying. ? Is this a main dealership? There is sadly a growing number of reported issues with 7 speed wet clutch DSG. DQ381,s. MCU failures / leaks. An issue that really needs more attention given possibly by motoring journalists. VW Group / Skoda will always says just a small number / percentage. Those companies offering repairs / refurbished MCU services might well know better.

TPMS
That will be the extreme heat creating steam when keeping to UK max speed limit of 60 mph, or maybe the 70 mph. Or the corroding of there alloys where the sun don't shine. OT,. We used to put Water in the rear tyres of some Offroaders and some plant tyres / or in the tubes. Horrible when it froze. We never used Anti-freeze in there.... Anyway, horses for courses. Then for another reason we used to use Balance beads rather than wheel weights. Offroaders also used to do road miles. They were good as stopping there being much rusting of the steel wheels.

1.5 Tsi Power Cutting Out
@ken2 Skoda Main Dealers are not SKODA. If you get no place with your communications with Skoda / VW UK the importers then you might once you and others let the DVSA know you are getting no place with your fears. They can talk with Skoda / VW UK and maybe be panned off. Speak with the Dealer Principal where you are taking your car. Be sure the Master Tech & Dealer Principal are passing your concerns to the Importers, so Skoda / VW UK. If you let the Service Manager or Sales Executive pan you off you get no place. There are Corporate Responsibilities, and these Dealerships and Manufacturers need to remember that is them. Let them put in righting that there are no issues with your vehicle or others experiencing the same as you, or saying they are.

Skoda Fabia 1.4 tdi 2009
@Adzalot Welcome. Others here will know, were they still building and selling mk1 Fabia in 2009 with a 1.4 TDI? Or is it a Mk2 Fabia?

Tires for 2017 L&K 220 Hatch
@J.R. I was more interested in if it was a garage that sourced / gets delivered what ever tyres a customer wants then fits them. The same story is repeated lots on here about this place or that place gets lots of tyres returned. All different brands are mentioned,. Well all cars have tyres of one kind or another and some have issues and some do not. The common factor being, there is no common factor. Location location location, vehicles, how used etc etc.

Mechatronic unit failure .. :(
@ballcock What problem are you waiting to have fixed, a DSG / MCU? What is the £1,483 for a replacement MCU fitted? ? What DSG do you have, a DQ381?

Tires for 2017 L&K 220 Hatch
@Smudger2 Is it a Garage or a Tyre & Exhaust Center that you are using & can they do 4 wheel Alignment Checks and adjustments and not just 'Tracking'. Is it Free Tracking & Alignment checks, but pay to then have corrected if required? As to the Hanckook's, are they a Hankook official dealer if they are getting lots of return of their TYRES ? ( USA, TIRES)

TPMS
@J.R. yes I know they did not actually purge the tyre on the rim with a valve on. But we know what they do as far as taking money from willing victims.

EPC light, Traction control and Engine management light kn
Best get a diagnosis and stop throwing parts at it. What was the pre gapped plugs you put in set at? Did you check then?
-
TPMS
Very true. Nissan GTR on a track you do not want H2o in your tyres. So they purge all air from your tyres, then fill with nitrogen and if you do need to put more pressure in you go to them and put in nitrogen. If you let the pressure down due to load or weather or increase you go to them. Amazing value. When checking pressures you never ever let a little nitrogen escape.

EPC light, Traction control and Engine management light kn
Hopefully someone can help. But just out of curiosity. Were the spark plugs in need of replacing. As in was the gap too big, oiled or suited up? Then what made you go to the expense of buying coils rather than just plugs first?
-
Jemm
@Jemm what is the fortnightly battery buying all about? Did they really only last a couple of weeks?
-
TPMS
Nitrogen filled does not mean there is no loss of pressure. Did they remove all the normal air to fill with nitrogen? I do know all the bumff on not passing through tyre walls so fast. Amazingly many millions of tyres with the compressor filled air lose no pressure over years. Often new valves are just what are needed.

TPMS
The TPMS was brought in for the likes of BMW / MINI,s and others with Run Flat tyres and muppets that never even noticed a puncture. Simple to see if the system works. Let a tyre down only 5 psi from when the TPMS was set. The tyres can be art different pressures around the car and set. The Fronts can be different from the rears and set. You can put on a slightly different size spare, reset the TPMS and get no warnings. There are some cars that might have issues, disable CC / ACC etc. Superbs commonly.

1.5 Tsi Power Cutting Out
@AllanDJ They maybe never needed to manipulate the Mk3 Octavia 1.5 TSI for WLTP certification in the same way as others, or maybe the persuaded the DVSA as they do try to, No issues. It was not all vehicles, dependent on manufacture dates maybe. Likely just they denied issues. Those without issue are lucky. That does not help those that do. Never let VW Group get away with denial when there is evidence of issues. Denial from Dealerships as well. They all do that, and the NEVER HEARD OF THAT BEFORE.

1.5 Tsi Power Cutting Out
@ken2 I know, which is why i am asking @sussamb that question. The reason being, the relevance or not of his experience. Your vehicle needs dealing with. It took VW / Skoda long enough with the 'kangerooing' to even admit to issues. That is how they usually behave. The Manufacturer i mean. (& your car with an issue others are having and they always say 'driver error'. .)

1.5 Tsi Power Cutting Out
@sussamb So that others know, has the 6 year old manual 1.5tsi been in for the Safety Critical Recall that the DVSA called on some 1.5 TSI from that age and had the software update, or was your car not in the series of cars / engines that applied to?
