De carbonising
PS Skoda Citigo in South America were available with 1.0 TSI engines and bigger fuel tanks and ran on E85.

De carbonising
They sell the vehicles into Australia knowing exactly what the fuels are. As for Mon / Ron best people get to understand that. In the UK the E10 might have up to 10% bio-ethanol and might have much less, as the E5 might have up to 5% and might have 0%. New tyres for fabia
Michelin Primacy 4 are hopeless in the slightest of wet roads. Fitted to EV,s and Hybrids because they increase the range by merit of poor grip / friction / traction. Are you in some part of the UK with long warm dry summers? I doubt anything you are talking about are better than your Blu Earth,s.

Welcome. What about going to an All Season' tyre when you change them. & 195/55 R 15 @Carlston might be along with some help.

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
The thing is, it is not British Rail. or Britain Wide run by anyone organisation. So as far as Railway Station parking, charging and long stay or not it is a post code lottery.

Hello people..
It might well be one of those that did not need a Replacement Engine or a 2010 that never got a Short Block and rebuild before they started doing Base Unit replacements. Skoda UK were not good as far as paperwork or the DVLA being notified of supposed like for like engine replacements and they claim the same engine numbers were kept. They lie. ? Is there a sticker in the boot showing '34F7' for the DQ200 DSG being in for the Recall Action' to change the Synthetic oil for mineral and the software update? That was started early 2014. ? Any record of the Breather Mod being done. Usually only if someone reported high oil use?

I read such stuff as well. So now you have an Engine with VW 508 00 / 509 00, 0w 20 FS IV Oil with detergents and petrol with detergents and a Cat and a Gasoline Particulate Filter and a 7 year warranty. I would service it to the schedule and run the car and fingers crossed that in 10 years the engine is as good as it is now. 'Keep it away from witch doctors'. If there are still issues outside of the US with carbon build up we will hopefully hear on here about that. Then we can ask VW Group, WTF happened to Vorsprung Durch Technik.

Elroq and Epiq new electric models
Various Vids make it sound totally amazeballs. Time will tell if the reality has any basis in fact. I am interested in what these Slots in Front & Rear Bumpers will actually be & the wheels / tyre sizes as vehicles are delivered. More importantly the actual miles one can cover with the battery size. & obviously the price when actually available in the UK. A Concept but seemingly can be ordered by the end of 2024. Just show them in the metal then because they must be Type Approved by now.... Or maybe not!

De carbonising
I though it was an April Fools. ? What carbon build up? What fuel are you using? You have a 5 year manufacturers warranty in Australia do you not? Best not void it with the 'Professional decarbonising ' the engine.

Hello people..
Welcome to the forum. Looks good. I read your post in the Mk2 Fabia section. How many miles has the car done and is it running the original engine?

Help required please
Fix the Breather as it will run like crap without it. As for the Misfires logged, get the plugs out and check all 4 and replace if required, or the one plug that might well be oiled up and black with soot. You have the EPC, the Engine Light and both that can show. The engine can go into 2 cylinder mode or inhibit the turbo. This can happen as well as with one or more bad plugs, or the Super charger Clutch / Water Pump needing replaced. The Spark Plugs used can make quite a difference regardless of the Mechanical Engineers that just say use the right ones, the OEM ones. There were 2 different OEM ones and your 2010 came with ones that were later changed from the factory and the gap was different. The ones i recommend often and am flamed for have a different reach and gap from the OEM ones. But listen to the Professionals not me. After all VW Engineers are dead good and they never ball-ed up did they. PS. 1.4 TSI Twincharger issues, High oil use had VW Group / Skoda doing 2 Changes to the Breathers. Ist one in Europe just the Breather Mod 2009-2012 & a software update. 2nd one tried out in Australia was Breather Mod mk2.

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
It is certainly silly if it is 79 pence at a charger (85 pence now at Instavolt) per kWh to put in 75 kWh if you do not need to go the maybe 200 plus miles until you cab charge cheaper. If you do need to then it is a ridiculous price. As for getting in 75 kWh at home if you need to be at 100% or near before the next trip the 75 kWh x 23 pence is £17.25 & even if your Taycan only gets 2.5 miles a kWh and not 3 miles that is near 190 miles you are good for. Rolling out 50 kW or 100 kW DC chargers for 30 pence a kWh is not happening is it. Even 30 pence for 11 kW AC chargers are not on the horizon are they? ............ Where there is plentiful renewables generating electricity. A Public Authority charging Loads of Money. (Very limited alternative Charging Providers and 'Much Cheapness' is not part of their mission.)

So Scala owners, what do you think to your car ?
& VW, Audi, SEAT & Skoda Main Dealers in the UK with 5 year old + 1.5 TSI or 1.5 TSI ACT cars 'Approved Cars' with FMDSH and yet the Guidelines, Recommendations, Advice or Schedule not followed on Cam Belt Changes. Years of VW Group taking the pith had to end. Vorsprung Durch Technik. Fool some of the people some of the time.

The change announced in the UK was because the UK was showing differently from other European / EU dust free countries. @ 5 years / 50,000 miles. Then there was the Issue. Lack of experienced staff, or any staff. So Non trained Techs / fitters without all the Gear. The timing equipment, and not a clue. Then the quotes from £550 which was wrong to the £750-£1,200 which is someplace in the right for 6 hours labour and parts.

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
Simples really. If you can only Public Charge and only at expensive public charging then really a BEV is not for you. 'Just say no.' Or just say no to ridiculous charging providers prices. If a business users and maybe charging between cheap off peak and you have the Tax Breaks from the HMRC & the employer pays for charging for business use then maybe fill your boots. If the bosses get Teslas and can use Super Chargers and go no place and you have to do loads of miles in a Non Tesla an have rubbish charging speeds ask them WTF they are on.

So Scala owners, what do you think to your car ?
The VW TPI is posted by me a few posts up. It clearly says 180,000 miles. I do wish people would not say this applies to all Engines as in MPI, TSI & TDI,s. It might do but check. The important thing was it does apply to 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI ACT,s which are in the region of £1,000 at Main Dealers to have done. £920 at Henrys Glasgow as posted by a member this week. That is Cam Belt and tensioners not including a water pump as not required when it is the Cam Belt being replaced. VW Says 'All Engines' So does that mean as far back as it goes for engines fitted with a Cam Belt', maybe 15 year old ones? Might be as long as 15 years for the 180,000 miles. Might be as long as 6 years for those that have failures of the tensioner while the belt has not broken. eg. Members who have had 1.6 TDI,s that failed, killed the engine.

the truth about electric cars
@lol-lol The MINI steering is very heavy in town in Sport and you need to go to MID for lighter steering and enough acceleration. The accelerator is very stiff in Sport, which is needed to actually stop it been far too wheel spinny in town. Green and Green + has it feel like a slug. OK put into when using Cruise Control. A Petrol MINI is better as a everyday easy to drive car IMO. The Electric MINI comes into it,s own when you can get on and nip on. IMHO. The Corsa Electric was a quicker any time any place EV.

the truth about electric cars
@lol-lol Yes. But forget the Heat Pump. Forget plugged in and heating the battery. This is 2 miles down hill and 2 miles back. I watched this this week. He has all the scores on the doors. None making much difference. The AC on reduces efficiency a lot. Being in Sport does not. But in Cruise Control going to green plus, sticking to 70 mph & you can go further, but the car is cold inside if it is cold weather. Tyres and tyre pressures make quite a difference, and the 16" for comfort and 195 for efficiency. 20*oC is roasting for me. 18*oC set is enough for normal people i would think. on my own it is at 16*oC. I have clothes on.... Heated seat at 1 burns my arse in a couple of minutes. I only ever have it to 3 for about 30 seconds when i get in. 15*oC can be a wish and dream for Ambient temp day time or night time maybe 1/3 of a year or more here. A Zoe or a UP!MiiCitigo electric would be a better car possibly for her.

Coil failure
@Crucian You have a Fabia Mk2 vRS Twincharger and a whole different kettle of fish. & unless you are doing maybe 15,000 miles a year you are peeing money against a wall. IMHO. If you have it remapped the plugs might fair better, even if doing track days or 1/4 mile visits. The issue with your engine will be one spark plug if there is any issue. Sooted up, oiled up and burning the tip off.
-
Coil failure
That would be Fixed Oil & Filter Servicing regimes. Annual Oil changes. These places in Glasgow are like many others. Look see and Change the Oil. Report. Everything else needs paid for and some muppet on the service desk is more bothered about saying the Discs are Worn and the AC needs serviced. Servicing & Maintenance is a mystery to them.
-
Coil failure
The correct plug comes Pre-gapped. & protected by a cardboard or plastic sleeve. Many just then put them in, being sure not to knock them and change the gap. I check each plug with the correct feeler just to see they are Pre-gapped properly. Were not taken out say at a Motor Factors or by a RAC person and knocked. Professionals might say nonsense, we do them everyday and never an issue. Well that is what i was taught when an apprentice not to do. It takes seconds to check and just assuming is for muppets. Except tere were no Muppets when i was an apprentice or pre-set plugs or plugs that need care if re-gapping as much as they are now.

Roomster re map
Talk to local Tuners / Remappers and see if they can Roll it Back. If they have done ones before, you do not want them experimenting. When was it given 'The Fix' and what issue is it causing since done?
-
Coil failure
That looks far too much. Not surprising it is running too rich. I would be asking where it was serviced if they can ask the Tech or Fitter that serviced the car if they had removed them, decided they did not need replacing and maybe a clean and regap. Or if they left them as they were. Not bothering with the Scheduled Servicing and Maintenance.

the truth about electric cars
@lol-lol ambient temp into the teens this afternoon and the MINI is doing over 6 miles a kWh in town heading downhill and by the time climbed back home showing 5.1. That is quite a difference from down near zero Celsius and 2.4 - 3 miles a kWh. Different from when i got it on the 17" wheels and 205 tyres where it was only around 4 miles a kWh indicated. I have my new home tariff i took of 22.03 pence a kWh starting tomorrow and fixed for 15 months. Now with Motability the choice of EV,s with £0.00 - £500 advance payment is very good. Smart #1, Enyaq, BYD Dolphin, Atto, ID3, C4, C4X, Honda E, GWM Ora 3, Peugeot 3008, Jeep Avenger, MG4, Vauxhall Mokka, 208 Cupra Born, Leaf, Zoe , Fiat 500 & 600.

E10 petrol vs E5 petrol
The news reporting the Freeze in Council tax in Scotland are partly right. The councils could choose and not all did. The Water / sewage chargers are up.
