Coming up to three year service
@ronniebarker£105 for spark plugs replaced at a dealership during a service is a thing of the past, add another £15 or more to that. @EnterNameHaving the Air Filter as a 6 year /60,000 replacement is taking the pith, and even more is those that do not even check it at services.

the truth about electric cars

the truth about electric cars
? Where is he? A wonderful TESLA service requires people in at the Dealership or to get to you. Central Belt Scotland dealers can do so much, further afield in Scotland & suck it up & wear big boy or girl pants. I was not interested in a Funky Cat even though the new dealer would be in Dundee. Now shut since August. Or a MG from 11 miles away in Brechin . Parks Hamiliton. No bl00dy way would i have a car from them. A TESLA would be no use for me or a Polestar. Even if given one. Skoda or SEAT EV,s OK because of the Dealership with very helpful and local staff for lifts if issues to get to dealership.

the truth about electric cars
Mans car breaks down. Big story. Or not really. My electric car broke down and i posted on here about it and the uselessness of the RAC, the recovery company they called and of Arnold Clark Service Centre Dundee. I would have done the same if it had been an ICE with a 'shifter' failure and the Drive & e-Brake locked.

2023 VRS DSG WARNING LIGHT
Welcome. Petrol, Diesel or even a PHEV vRS? Make sure you let a Skoda Dealership know this happened. Just so they can not say there that 'They have never heard of this', New person just started, no interest in cars, or deaf. Or that 'They all do that'. Then they can tell you why.

First mot issues
@kentdale How far back was the Service done, days / miles. Get onto them if the Inspection never picked up on the tyres. The Dealer Principal, not the Service Manager or Service Desk staff. Was it the Main Dealership that did the MOT and these advisories are from the MOT, or are we talking one visit, Service & MOT,d? @numskullWhat was a MOT examiner @ Halfrauds on about with the driveshafts, checking gaiters.

First mot issues
Can we assume the car was not serviced before 3 years old and the MOT and you do not check stuff, tyres, pressures etc? Not able to inspect at a MOT because of covers is normal.

the truth about electric cars
There is a good article linked on another forum which covers much. I will link it for those that missed it. EDIT. Actually that article was 2015 and not as good as the thread here. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/226003-the-twins-and-yeti-rs/page/118

the truth about electric cars
^^^ Those with their AWD,s /4x4,s never think of that as the reverse their water crafts down a slipway into fresh or salt water to launch after arriving with a nicely warmed up vehicle. Even people crossing fords or big puddles on a journey. Hot Cat / Exhaust / Diff / Axles. Then people think maybe change the rear diff oil @ 80,000 miles or when ever if ever.
-
the truth about electric cars
Yes you are. & people do not. Actually the Police in England seem not to bother on the TV programmes, they do in Scotland. YET 1 maybe like that. (Is it a diesel still?)

2.0 TDI CUNA break
Welcome. That will be Stop / Start as you coast to a stop / halt off the accelerator. Does it restart ok if you press the accelerator once stopped or while still moving?

the truth about electric cars
@Graham ButcherMy personal plates show on the DVLA Data Base & ASK MID. But on the number on the car now, not the registration that it had at First Registration / leaving the dealers wearing. No idea if that red Tesla car was photographed this week or last month or before. ie when it was wearing that registration.

Battery Problem?
@GrumpyOldGitSadly batteries are not always good for 3 or 4 weeks of no use on many modern cars, even in mild weather. So it is what it is.

The T&C,s as the Warranty they got will be relevant, and an Independent Experts Report will be important as things are. tesla-new-vehicle-limited-warranty-en-gb.pdf- Service Code
It could be, it could be that they did not know how to if they could not plug in. Do you want to leave it 18,000-20,000 miles between oil changes or more than a year? I would not now at 11 years old unless you do high miles in a year. Have you checked the Air Filter yourself, has the Diesel Filter/ fuel filter been replaced? Have you looked at the pollen filter, cleaned it out in the area or replaced? More needs doing than just Oil changes.- Service Code
You get 1.6 or 2.0 TDI CR. Not that it matters really. Must be on fixed servicing then, 9,400 miles / 372 days. Oil required is Long Life for fixed or variable service intervals, so to VW504 00 / 507 00, 5w 30 FS III ? Do you have Haldex (4x4). is it a manual gearbox?- the truth about electric cars
Is the Manufacturing Engineer a different Robert Hussey? Just being nosy. (Would at least understand about H2O.)- the truth about electric cars
You have to find humour from events. Well as long as not your crisis,s. This company made me laugh. But i am sad! - Coming up to three year service
