Fuel additive yes/no?
Indeed. Some even charge for stuff like special fan spray Windscreen Wash made from the tears of angels, even though the car went in with a full washer bottle. The top fraud is charging for a Sump Plug and VAT on that when the sump plug was not actually removed or replaced. Mony a mickle maks a muckle especially when stuff is charged for and still sitting in the stock room.

Long Story short. Service Books & Stamps & dates not worth the paper they are written on. As many know, Even a FMDSH might be a history of how little Servicing & Maintenance has been done. And then the Service Books stopped going in the Cars and on-line it went, and still very little actual stuff gets done.

Fuel additive yes/no?
I did. & i posted on Trust Pilot on the Arnold Clark Service Centre page. Laura must have been having a break and a bot posted their reply. If you want to discuss this call the Customer Service Centre.

the truth about electric cars
The UK Government or the husband of one of the UK,s richest woman will not be interested in what UK,s richest mans employee has to say about a mix of technologies. (That is Lynn Calder the CEO of Ineos Automotive.) http://autocar.co.uk/car-news/electric-cars/ineos-automotive-ceo-ev-only-approach-will-fail As it is the Tories look like they are going to water down green policies hoping that is going to win them the next general election. Before that they are going to have to help the transport industry and the general public with the rising price of fuel that is going to have inflation going higher and higher.

Fuel additive yes/no?
They will sell / use stuff with a VW /Audi logo on it made by whoever. They are not into reading Owners Manuals.

1.2tsi wastegate rattle potential fix
This was about a TPI on cars with a 1.2 tsi up to 2012. Your car is a 2014.

Fuel additive yes/no?
Because they are upselling. What is wrong with the detergents in the diesel you buy? You could pay more and buy Premium Diesel if you wanted to. Arnold Clark,s call centre guy offered me fuel additive at the service for my Electric car. Not the brains they are born with.

Oil filter
@freemansteveUntil 2013 it was in Major Services with Skoda UK @ Fixed Prices even though not on the Workshop Check Sheet and not done. Then they said Remove Wheels and remove drums. I was posting about that for about 2 years after they stopped doing it but a broken spring was common on the rear drums of Mk2 Fabia with them. As to Skoda Servicing now. Money for old rope. This Citigo was not at a Skoda Dealers though was it?

Oil filter
@qprWhat does the Full Service consist of and how much is it? Oil & Filter, Pollen & Air Filter, Spark Plugs, Wheels off, rear drums off, cleaned, coolant ratio checked, brake fluid changed, tyres inspected, road test. Or something less than a Full Service?

Karoq cam belt change - start saving now !
The car will have to last the life of the belt, or maybe a new engine before the car gets scrapped. The tensioners might last the life of the belt.

What break discs and pads for a Skoda Octavia
The common reason is because Main Dealership employees can say they need replacing even if they do not. They might say 80% worn when not 20% worn. I would go to the local garage and ask the boss / mechanic if you need to buy anything or they do from their supplier and fit them. (D&A Motor Factors, Dingbro or TPS.) ? Where was the car into for the health check, was it Thomson & Potter Skoda Perth, part of the John Clark Group? ? How much were they quoting to do the replacements?

Airbag Recall
You said you will have to wait for the Dealer to order one and posted about where it might come from. So i assume you are driving the car, so what has the time it takes to change got to do with anything. VW never bothered to get the items to the dealers and the dealers never bothered getting them. I hope VW Group are covering owners expenses for visits so that they can cover their back ends. Pay you the hourly rate they charge customers.

Exhaust emissions control system light on.
@Timcooper55Was there any reason you decided to use Redex if the car was going OK? If it was cleaning the system the stuff getting cleaned had to get through the system. Or not. The same owners manual probably still says not to use Fuel Additives. VW Group sell Fuel Additives, but still tell you not to use them. The Diesel you buy already comes with detergents in.
-
Airbag Recall
It could be via there, or Germany, or direct from China or elsewhere. Regardless of where VW / Skoda UK do not seem to think it is a Safety Critical issue, or does the DfT / VOSA. The cars are not coming off the road and you getting a courtesy car.

Timing belt change no longer required at 5 years old?
That was Servicing to Manufacturers Guidelines, Recommendations or Schedules quite often before a car went back. Oddly many a Skoda, VW. SEAT or Audi Approved used car with a Warranty were not Serviced to those T&C,s yet had a FMDSH. A history of not all stuff done.

DSG Service kit
- the truth about electric cars
They change anything to suit them. Licences, towing, weights etc etc. Self drive and convoys. Regardless of if the UK has the tech in place. Digital broadcasting and Mobile reception UK wide will be a starter. Truck stops / low carbon hubs will be a starter then getting the National Grid,s owners to have it fit for purpose. Maybe in a few decades then.- the truth about electric cars
I am sure that UK companies will be changing drivers pay rate and driving time to suit going a 180 miles then the unit going on a charger, or the driver changing units having had the appropriate break away from the vehicle then driving again. & The UK Government will have the Driving & Break, time off legislation to suit these driving times. 9 hour daily driving limit, 56 hours in a week. (It can be 10 hours a day but only twice in a week.)- High Mileage - Impact On Battery Range
Welcome to the forum. Your post confused because 15,000 miles + to20,000 miles with a 2 year old car is not high miles or old. ? How many miles a year are you going to do and are you going to be charging mostly AC on a wall box or public charging on DC / CCS? You charge to maybe 98 or 99% if you need to, @ 100% there is no regen. If you do not need to go to 100% & have that range then you have no need to. It is about DC Rapid Charging to 100% all the time and that is what many need to do. You can maybe charge to 90% and then set for setting off and heat the cars interior for setting off and charge to 98%. This nonsense of only charging to 80% and then you maybe charge when down to 10% might suit those not going far and that are fine using 70% of the battery capacity and running from charged to a charger.- Timing belt change no longer required at 5 years old?
Yes. But the OP posted what they posted and that says Skoda seems to have removed the requirement. The first posts on here were how VW had changed the advice, not the 'requirements'. Just pedantic, but then VW, Skoda, SEAT, Audi UK are pedantic.- Running In Query
^^^ Are they still putting those in the latest vehicles?- Timing belt change no longer required at 5 years old?
There never was a requirement just their recommendation in the UK. There are threads in about every section since this change came about in July. It does not mean everyone with a keeper will not have a Cam Belt and tensioner replaced if they think it needs doing.- Used 1.2. Yeti Questions
It might have already been replaced and you do not just replace willy nilly. So a service / maintenance history is important. If noisy maybe. If all is well then all is well. - the truth about electric cars
