  1. A remap should not cause issues with ignition coils if they are all good. A stage 1 remap should not, and nether should the spark plugs. But since you are looking for a performance increase then using Super Unleaded and upgrading Spark plugs and coils can just be a sensible thing to do. And pre remap and see how the car is on a Dyno pre remap. This can be money well spent when it is performance you want and that you are going to use. After all if anything goes wrong it is you paying to fix things.
  2. @Tazdaz can you say who is doing the remap? If you are using trusted professionals then their advice is likely more important than the likes of mine or others that you do not even know or have ever met.
  3. @Neillvrs what are all these parts. Just a mechatronic control unit. Or a new / VW refurbished DSG. Or are you getting an engine and a gearbox as some person suggested was needed using their total lack of motor engineering qualifications?
  4. It would be fantastic and simply clever with a long build up to launching a 4th generation model not counting the face lifts that Skoda can get them right from the first ones sold. Sadly they never managed that with MK4 Octavia or Fabia. They actually are failing to address all issues with ones people already own and are getting peed off with. You might as well hold off and actually know what you will be getting and can they get Quality Control as it should be and not bring to new cars issues they are having with ones they build now. Software being the Elephant in the room.
  5. @Paulinkeighleyyour guess is as good as anyone else's uneducated guess. These are not normal times for car manufacturing or Skoda / VW manufacturing and the First Registration for Average Fleet Co2 emissions in the UK. Sales people want to get orders in and ultimately sell cars and hope they are arriving and going to a customer before they lose their job at that dealership, but they do not know what the future holds, and until their most senior bosses have been to see New cars later in the year maybe abroad or maybe at a runway or 5 star hotel in the UK they will be non the wiser about Facelifts, next generations etc. Even after the info is out in Autocar / Auto Express and on social media / forums / Briskoda they might still be non the wiser.
  6. About due the spark plugs replaced for the 2nd time since new, has it had them replaced at any time in the past 7 & a bit years? Is there a nice clean / fresh air filter fitted?
  7. @Carlstonusually has all the choices for all the cars, suspension, tyres etc etc. Really there are lowering springs for MK2 Fabia out there to fit your car and not any great expense. Ask the sellers of springs. They just lowered it as they did with any 'Sport', Monte Carlo, or Greenline with a petrol engine and manual gearbox.
  8. ? Why are you changing the springs if they are good. There are plenty lower springs that cost less the replacements for the OE ones. No idea what you mean about compressing the springs to fit the sports suspension. As it is the car has not got 'sports suspension' that is Skoda spin. @DpmPerformancemight be able to advise you on parts. EDIT, i will get you the correct link. http://dpmperformance.co.uk
  9. Have the spark plugs been replaced already? Service the car before remapping. Be sure the spark plugs are perfect and the person doing the remap should advise on which plugs to fit. The likes of fitting a new air filter is just basic stuff to do, or at least check the air filter is clean, and if fitting a non standard set up do it before remapping.
  10. Best go and get a alignment check done by a professional and another's eyes cast over the car, springs, dampers and steering. You want to know everything is as it should be before doing any modifications / upgrades.
  11. Does it not just need Greenline II springs? There is nothing Sport about the Lower Suspension on a Monte Carlo or vRS, they were just lower and the Dealer fit option were Eibach.
  12. Top up your own screen wash before handing in and then if they charge you for screen wash be sure to get that taken off the bill. Why did you approve them changing the discs and pads when they charge ridiculous prices? You could have changed the battery yourself as it is nothing special and needs no coding, but you never. Any independent could have done the brakes for you. Under £150 in parts.

  14. The change to the non drip Silver filters were that summer. The members that reported issues with dealership services and the wrong oil filters fitted to there 1.2 tsi's were in 2012. ? What date did Skoda / VW change the timing chain tensioners was that also June 2011? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/301555-help-genuine-oil-filter-part-number-12tsi-monte-105bhp
  15. The same old same old has been going on for years. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/442488-oil-filter-replacement-problem
  16. 'Skoda spare wheels for Fabia are 15". Steel 'saving space wheels' and tyres. Not 'Space Savers.' you could buy a 16" Steel or Alloy with the appropriate tyre to carry as a spare wheel.
  17. @PeterGu is this the insulation on the bonnet or the engine cover you asked about. There are engine covers now for the cars that had them removed because of the Recall action.
  18. I suppose she will not want to be seen dead in a Dacia Jogger Hybrid. I think in Black or Silver they will make a good hearse. I will not be paying the crazy prices that they are getting to in the Northern parts of Scotland and without any improvements in the charger network.

Welcome. It is asked many times and it might be just a few weeks as it goes for getting on a ship then onto a transporter and then up to them. But they know how long each one they are getting is taking this year compared to last year or past years, Ask the sales person or their boss how long the current orders are taking from build until they take them from the delivery driver.
  20. You do know what is in it it is to a standard & it is gasoline. you just do not how much Bio up to the 10%. But then you will not know how much Bio in E5 either around the UK.
  21. The Parking Brake is tested at a MOT. The gearbox locking the front wheels in P is not.
  22. It might be in limp mode and the Turbo is disabled because of this but not the fault. A serious misfire & that is the issue. The Warranty is what it is, but you need to find what the issue is with a diagnosis, so starting with reading the fault codes if there are any, and it will be odd if there are not. So low mileage bit have the spark plugs been replaced as the Guidelines / recommendation / specification @ 4 years. ? Are you running E10 unleaded petrol.
  23. @Gwiloyou lost me with the 18 year old jap import that takes weeks to get parts for, have you got one of those? http://milneroffroad.com As to MOT advisories & rear suspension arms / rust and recurring, that is lime 'misting' of dampers. Advisories, and recurring. Not fails. If a car is bought taking in mind those 'Not major MOT fail's' it can be worth having that parts replaced on a 9 year old Czech import, As it is a 8 year old one might need the same doing in a year or 3.
  24. @MarkyG82 Hand / parking brake or even e-Brake / finger brake failure might not be that common. It is not Parking Brake failure if it is the brake applied with hot rear discs and then them cooling. Which is not uncommon. @octavia_vn67welcome to the forum. Is it a vRS you have and with a 6 speed wet clutch DSG so a DQ250?
