Automatic transmission
If it was just 'Freewheeling' without it being engineered into the vehicle and type approve & allowed in the legislation /law then it would be an issue. The driver is responsible for their driving and being in control of the vehicle and what they enable and when and where and when safe to do so. It helps if they know what the system in the vehicle they are driving actually does. As it is it came about because 'Those in charge in Europe or those that work for those in charge wanted lower emissions and have allowed kidology to prevail. But Cylinder Deactivation, Cylinder / Turbo on demand, engine stop / start, coasting and the likes can have less fuel used and so less emissions emitted. They are still banning the sale of new Petrol & Diesels in less than a decade. Just now the EV's, Mild Hybrid and PHEV's are allowing manufacturers to get the Low Average C02 figures needed with Partnerships with other manufacturers. VW Group are not building or selling enough of their own cars with Low Emissions. The thing is if you do not want functions do not use them. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/494047-coasting

the truth about electric cars
Going like a fair again at Stirling CastleView Park and ride. As usual the cars left for 'Long time mister' on the 43 kW AC chargers. Luckily i got on a charger that someone had just left. I was not to know the Tesla on the AC was just left their while the owner went for a walk while waiting on the CCS. Then the communications with chargers went wonky and there was the old Rapid OOO. It is a bit or a carry on. Might as well give the Taxi Firm some publicity. Not really cricket to just leave the car with a full charge and locked it.

XDS, or EDL, or XDL+ electronic differential lock - is it supplied at all in the UK?
Bump. For @Mattyboy91

MK3 245 vrs reliability? Skoda still quality?
The XDS and XDS+ is acting on the front wheels / drive not the rear. The ESP is doing the rear. Eg. Fabia MK2 vRS for XDS, and Polo GTI till 2014 then Polo GT1 18tsi 2015 has XDS+.

Sometimes you can not teach old dogs new tricks or how to get the best from available tech. Eco settings and Coasting can be rather different and just keeping your toe off the accelerator can use less fuel. Not just on rolling roads in a test regime for the WLTP or RDE. But if your routes, roads or way you choose to drive does not suit then it is nobody else loss. You easily see once on EV,s the differences coasting can make and also regeneration and that regeneration can also work with ICE vehicles.

MK3 245 vrs reliability? Skoda still quality?
If you mean the VAQ, then no. If it had no VAQ it is XDS+ fitted. Nothing special really. Still needs good tyres on the car and traction with the road. The NSL is 60 mph anyway where there are corners on single carriage way roads. A Fabia without XDS takes corners much the same.

Automatic transmission
I change down a gear or 2 if I want to be in control and slowing down, then I accelerate maybe in D. I am not much for touching a brake pedal. But then I have only driven 2 pedal cars for almost 5 decades as I have only one foot.

Bearing or diff
If 2016, a mk3 Superb.

Or the prop shaft coupling? So has your Haldex been serviced properly at least twice? Not just oil changes. ? How many miles has your car done?

Emission Control System sensor light
It is the Engine shaped symbol usually. It is not the EPC light. So what other light can the EML be?
-
Automatic transmission
Yes. Surely you have tried that have you not. 'D' goes to D7, D6 or what ever. Again depends on what car. Why would you want to be braking or decelerating if you want to be going into drive and get a move on?

Automatic transmission
I never tap the brake pedal, I tap the accelerator if someone is behind.

the truth about electric cars
Pi553d off. Charge place Scotland seems to be having issues. So tried 3 rapid chargers that are not authorising card. App not working. Girvan harbour,s single rapid has been off for weeks now. So sitting for 2 hours charging on a fast / Slow 7kW charger to have enough charge to get 100 miles to a reliable charger later tonight. I will use a commercial charger and pay if I need to in CPS is still having issues but choices are off my route. It is so easy for the best laid plans to g ok Tits up.

Automatic transmission
None in my experience. Different cars / engines can be used in different ways at different times. If someone does not use ECO another driver might find it suits them. I use 'coasting' function with any car. Some ages / types need to be in ECO to Coast. Others can let you coast in D or S.

Automatic transmission
ECO, is not the same in all engines / DSG,s. As in a 1.0 or 1.4 TSI without ACT and a DQ200 DSG, or a 1.6 TDi,. Then there are 1.5 TSI,s ACT with maybe a DQ200 or a DQ381. Then you get to 2.0 TDI or TSI,s and wet clutch 7 speed DSG.s. lots of choices and also modes making differences.

Help Superb 280BHP Engine Light Flash and ECU Light On, No Codes Stored
So you check spark plugs and the gaps otherwise it is all a guess work or fingers crossed with a used car as you have no idea what went before, even if the originals, or gapped correctly. When all is well 95 Ron is fine. When all is well plugs properly gapped and performing are not cause coils to fail prematurely. It is just basic servicing and maintenance which is why the Manufacturer's guidelines, recommendations and schedule is @ 4 years 40,000 miles for replacement. Possibly Monday wasted, but so is coils needing replaced sooner than they could have needed to be. We are now on winter petrol which is less hygroscopic than was on sale 1 month ago. Ps. I would go Tesco momentum 99 or Sainsbury super unleaded 97. (Min). Which can be 99 Ron as Minimum can mean a higher Octane. No point over paying Royal Dutch Shell IMO. All the same base fuel as Greenergy and RDS are partners importation. We want the octane and really the detergent package is of no importance. IMO.

Yeti to Karoq - Educate Me!
If stop / start is enabled and conditions are suitable to stop the engine the engine will stop. If Autohold is enabled and you sit with a light brake pedal pressed you need not have Autohold activate. Easy enough with stop / start enabled to not have the engine stop by whacking the AC / heater up as an example. No point thinking all engine or DSG,s act the same because they do not. Even the same car acts differently in different weather / ambient temp and requested inside temp or demand on the battery. Lights, radio, heated mirrors, rear screen, heater / fan.

Help Superb 280BHP Engine Light Flash and ECU Light On, No Codes Stored
Actually codes might not be logged. If the Engine Management light, as in sitting with the engine rich and the 'Engine Management light / emission control light comes on' Like when a car is moved about in a workshop / paint shop and loads of soot build up. Engine light. Symbol the shape of an engine, an EPC light can also show with misfires, or not log of not enough in a cycle to get logged. Electronic Power Control light / EPC. So an Engine lights or a EPC light is the first question, then does the car need a bit of a blow out. Do not do that before checking the plugs, coils, air filter etc are all well. & get the Fault Codes read if there are ones logged. If all is well some fresh E5 97/99 rom might be good if it has E10 95 ron sitting in the tank a few weeks / months old.

Anyone fitted higher profile tyres to their Sportline?
As far as a car even a SUV not looking stylee on smaller rims and more rubber. That is a designers issue and some owners but really many are more bothered about practicality and usability. The big heavy car will get around corners and mount pavements just fine without the low profiles and non sporty look. Scruffy alloys.

Help Superb 280BHP Engine Light Flash and ECU Light On, No Codes Stored
The car might well be misfiring. Might need serviced. Might need new spark plugs, maybe the spark plugs have the coils prematurely fail. ? So how many miles has the car done. Have the spark plugs been checked or replaced.? Maybe a full service history, but history of what being done.

hydrogen powered cars
I read that British Gas / Centrica are investigation having Hydrogen vehicles. Makes sense if they are going to have Hydrogen plants, / filling stations. Maybe when the 2 Green Freeport's are announced in Scotland they will have ones there. Maybe Aberdeen being one and where they could already have a fleet using hydrogen. It will be a help with Public EV chargers where British Gas vans can be occupying them for hours. But that is becoming common with business now where there vehicles are dumped at charge bays blocking other users.

Skoda Fabia Mk2 1.2 12V - Cold Start issues
I think you need the help of a mechanic. Maybe even a mobile one that can come to the car. ? So how many miles has the car done.? Have you checked the spark plugs, looked at the airfilter. Did the person from the RAC?

Anyone fitted higher profile tyres to their Sportline?
You are not going to be able to fit tyres with much more sidewall on the 20" roms. so a greater total circumference / diameter than standard. Smaller wheels, like 18" with tyres to the correct circumference and rim protection is what is required. Ps. Any after market rim protectors will not help. Plenty threads on those on the forum.

Service Plan details
What did you pay for? how muc how much did you pay has the car had any servicing? What did you buy a used or new car. 2 years free servicing or more as part of a deal???. Ask Skoda UK, or at a dealership. Something must show on the Skoda / VW system.
