  1. More likely Fleet Average Co2 emission First Registration by the end of the year. Or last 1/4 or 6:month registrations, and not about the money. They need the lower emission cars first registered of the high emission ones sit un-registered on the UK in the VW Groups brands. Not enough of the Partners are First Registering EV,s
  2. Personally it would be to leave well alone and have the cash money for other serviced items and fuel. But if it is something you really want get a tuner that can Remap it for improved performance and swerve a Tuning box.
  3. I wrongly assumed you were having a Roll back and a remap. The tuning box works as well as It will on the current Fix / engine management / map does it not. If doing a roll back best just get a remap IMO.
  4. The service guidelines and recommendations and schedule for servicing of the DQ381 is @80,000 miles. What are Skoda / VW saying about the failure. Skoda not Customer Services, actual factory engineers?
  5. Welcome to the forum.
  6. The PCD is what is concerned with the hole spacing. And 5 x 100, not 5 x112.
  7. @Bigjohns Welcome. Hopefully in 8 1/2 years they did find the problem. That was with a 2006 car. Maybe best set out your own issue. Hopefully someone can assist you.
  8. Take 10 minutes to have your tyres looked at by your fitter now. The inside walls. It is winter. It is cold weather with snow coming. My nephew crashed his works van into a tree the other day and the Police officer was not impressed by the tyres and he will be getting points and a fine. Higher prices of tyres from the top Brands / Manufacturers is no real indication of quality or safety. Your tyres must be like Hockey Pucks as far as hardness and not something i would drive on. Eco tyres for fuel economy and what i would consider ditch finders. Lacking friction, so traction, so in my opinion probably grip when cornering, braking, the ESP doing its thing.
  9. If the price of used Electric Vehicles are dropping then good if you can get what you want for less than they were being advertised for or you had to pay just recently. 'If', being the important bit. Cost, prices, what you pay is money. 'Value' is what they are worth to you, what you can get in cash money maybe, or have to pay as far as i am concerned. Trade in and 'Cost to change', finance and leasing is not so much about 'Value' it is about people making money if that is how they earn their living selling / trading in vehicles.
  10. Do not move these ones fitted to the front, get them disposed of by your usual tyre fitter once you ask their opinion on your rather well lasted tyres that now need replaced. Tyres are consumables and 6 years & 44,000 miles is pretty good if the OE fitment and never moved front to rear at any time. Have alignment checked if you want but there is no adjustment to do at the rear. Just maybe components wear. New tyres needed and the correct pressures used, and if they last 6 years and 44,000 miles on the rear that is wonderful IMO. 'Saw toothing' common on Skoda Superbs. So was it a Skoda Main Dealership employee that said common when looking at a Fabia or just commenting. Was this a Technician a sales person or someone on the Service Desk with their pearl of wisdom?
  11. ? Can she not stay in lane so hence aware of the Lane Keep Assist letting her know? Maybe someone with the sister model from Skoda will be able to say how they disabled their LKA. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/478419-lane-keep-assis-how-do-you-use-yours
  12. ? What actually is your sisters SEAT and is it operating correctly, and does she know how it does and can she actually stay in her own lane, not stray and indicate if changing lane? Pressing the button at times you do need it off is easy, like putting on a heated screen, the stop / start, the radio etc. one push once and another push when you want to activate again. It could be disabled and it will depend on which actual VW Group model / year etc. Not that all do need disabled if they behave as they should and are adjustable. Some Lane Keep Assist Systems are great as the one on a Golf 2.0 TDI DSG i had a loan of recently. Any just just a light flash, a wee tug of the wheel to alert you, or whatever. If your hands are on the wheel you have full control, it just 'Assists'. Not intrusive in any way. It only operated when on straights and not on corners, & above certain speeds and not in street lit areas. As most do. My Corsa Electric Lane Keeping assist is also perfect and is left on.
  13. So a 2016 1.2 TSI DSG Yeti with an Engine Light on / Exhaust Emissions light. Which is not the most unusual of things. Serviced with new spark plugs and maybe some E5 Super Unleaded can sort things if the plugs have not been changed and if it is not a sensor or some other actual fault. @grajay How many miles has the car done, and have the spark plugs been replaced at any point? ??? What did a Major Service consist of on your 6 year old car and how much did you pay for that? Someone is using you as a Goose to lay the golden egg IMO.
  14. It is good to see a record of what was actually done, and not just Oil & filter changes and look sees and reports. Look at what you might have to spend to have done that might not be up to date. Are all 4 tyres and the spare OK, the brakes, the windscreen and all functions functioning. Oil & Inspection and Extended Scope, or Interim & Major services are not that much if the extras were not also done.
  15. The cars that were delayed for import to the UK and first registration in 2018 was when the WLTP was introduced in September 2018 and VW / Skoda had models / engines not WLTP Certificated. So no idea what that means as far as pre September 2018 first registrations. When were the 2.0 TSI's without a GPF built and then First Registered by, are they going to be before September 2018 and any after that will have WLTP Certification? ? What is the Co2 g/km for those without a GPF and those with, are they the same? Only asking because really i do not know. EDIT. Losing my memory.... It seems i used to know. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/500194-do-all-tsi-engines-in-mk4-have-a-gpf
  16. Recent articles in the local press will say an EV was involved. Sadly in the past couple of weeks a fatality with a motor cyclist had the Radio, TV and news papers first reporting that the Motorcyclist was in collision with a Electric car. (I knew where it happened as it was someplace i drive regularly and less than 1/2 a mile from where my sister in law was killed while riding her motorbike in the 1980's. Floral tributes still get left at the location.) When a car or driver does lose control like with the VW ID4 in Dundee they are going to say an Electric car in the same way they have always mentioned when an Automatic car crashes into other ars maybe in a supermarket carpark with maybe an elderly driver. But never say a Manual Car if it is one of those.
  17. I seriously suggest that people get a loan of a demonstrator or hire an EV for a couple of days at least before anyone buys or orders an EV for their personal / private use. Use it for a couple of days and public charging in your home area and maybe away for a trip outwith your area. That is after doing a bit of pre planning and research on chargers / types / tariffs using the various sites including the likes of ZapMap / PlugShare.
  18. Off street parking for EV's in Dundee. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-63877236
  19. The temperature is dropping now but no sign of salt being put down before it gets to zero C. My trusty greenhouse heater is in my van and set just above freezing to keep snow or ice off the glass and it is dry inside. Brimmed with Winter Spec Diesel. My EV is almost fully charged but not plugged into the charger. It can just get turned on by phone app to start heater and clear glass if needed, but not going anyplace other than a play tomorrow if there is snow on the ground.
  20. 2030. Almost 2023 already. Conventional new petrol and diesel car new sales to end. UK. EU maybe also. Is that vans as well? It is really really really so soon. We will see.
  21. Skoda / VW or whoever is doing the communications on their part need to remember when dealing with customers. This paint issue was a Factory Fault. They recognised that and approved an Approved Repairer to rectify and paid for that. So, this is different from the Zinc Inclusion issue but similar in. They know what shifts the car was built on, who the managers were, the operatives, the Quality Control Supervisors etc. They know which other vehicles built, prepped, painted and signed out might have also left with paint / pre paint NOT to the 'Factory Standard'. Then who was to do the Work to have the paint to 'The Factory Standard'. As in the correct spec, not the failure of a spec. They can mess about as much as they like, get reports, dismiss and claim, look at independent reports etc and dismiss even if done by the Independent Experts they usually use but the customer commissions. A UK Solicitor can tear them a new one if the owner wants to go down the legal route, be that with the Manufacturers who will say 'not us gov', we build them, others import them and sell them.
  22. In the next 24 hours i will find out if the drop in the cars range with my very aggressive snow tyres on the front are worth it. Still last years Michelin Alpin 6 on the rears of the FWD EV. They were fine on ice last night just using the normal regen and no need to use the brakes, but then i hardly ever do. The snow might just reach north of Dundee, but if there is snow in Dundee that can be a bit of a joke with cars on inappropriate tyres. For me the biggest thing is getting into Public EV Chargers that have not been cleared of snow. The Snow / Winter tyres ensure that i can just roll back and fore even in the biggest of snow built up to get to the charger as i have had to do the last 2 winters. Also being able to move even when others cars including 4x4's are getting no place. Then an EV is pretty good in a thaw / flooding on roads just as long as manhole covers have not lifted. Being able to de-ice the car by just turning it on is great, heated seats and steering wheel. PITA is Wipers and how they might be designed when parked or the De-mist / Heating / Air Intake below screen wipers that clogs with snow / ice and then no heat to de-ice the bonnet. That needs paying attention to as far as brush off snow etc. I am interested to see how some of the EV's that i have seen recently on tyres unsuitable for winter let alone snow on the ground are getting on this week and the next few. I think there will be plenty Winter Tyres getting fitted if people can get them for their nearly new car.
  23. Things are never simple. But one thing that is is who you are communicating with. Ask them to send the T&C's and anything concerning a 'Bodywork Service' and when or by whom this is done. These are who you are probably dealing with. At their finger tips or on the end of something they should have someone who does know stuff if they do not. 'Bodywork Inspection' part and parcel of 'Main Dealership Servicing', That is VW Group Authorised / Franchised establishments, Supposedly.
  24. One hopes so if someone is stealing your vehicle. Or they just film you setting off your own alarm to put on Chuckle of the day on BRISKODA.
  25. Thread is Rust around fuel filler door. Pinned in Citigo section and links and screen shots to Warranty, articles, and threads in other sections. Skoda UK are having a laugh about Bodywork inspections. The service books up till 2012 had the pages to fill in at Major / inspection services. Since then part of a Major service or extend scope, first at 3 years and each 2 years. But the Warranty does not say this is required in the T&C.s.
