  1. Personally, I have no concerns using an over 6 year old spare / emergency tyres that have been stored in a spare tyre well in the dark and inflated and subjected to maybe -12*oC in there or 40*oC but never in the sun, salt or roads with petrochemicals. But they certainly spares need inspected, and maybe some will want to pay someone to take it off and scrap it and put on a used tyre.
  2. The oil is to VW 504 00 / 507 00 for 2017 2.0 TSI or TDI's for Fixed or Variable Service Intervals. This is 5w 30 FS III (long life oil.) Even if the TDI is getting annual / 9,400 mil oil changes it is the VW 507 00 that must be used. (Do not let the later VW 508 00 / 509 00 confuse things. That is 0w 20 FS IV 2018 on)
  3. It is nice with ice on paths and sleet / rain falling and no way am i cycling. The energy goes but as long as free to cheap it matters not much. This is a further 2 miles done. The thing is that it is 45 kWh Usable of a battery. 1 hour on a 7kW battery puts in 6.6 kWh up until 98% now, then it really does not want to take more. It used to though before the update.
  4. But it does. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/445467-dsg-equipped-cars-second-thermostat
  5. I have. You can do things Legally, or there is Illegal. In business you do Legal unless you are a dodgy geezer. What the Law, rules or statutes will be relevant to who you are or what you are. Or maybe there are no laws.
  6. Well 24 hours and 8 times driving 1 mile required 6 kWh of electric. Which is pretty crap really and real world. Temps from just bellow freezing to just above. But heated seat and steering wheel is hot as soon as started and on for the 3-5 mins the 1 mile takes which is lovely. And I am charging for free. If I was paying 30 pence a kWh that would be £1.80. or on my local council chargers £1.38. that is ok I suppose and would be fine with someone charging off peak. It is not anything WLTP or any manufacturer shows as efficiency or lack of. I could run my 2006 Kia Picanto doing the same 1 mile cold start winter trips and still get 40 mpg really world economy. That was no heated seat or steering wheel though. ......... The car likes to be optimistic since the software update & show it could do 4 miles to the kWh and it could if it was 15*oC warmer and i drove at 50 mph or less on a road with some regen available. Maybe even 2.7-3 miles if i set off now on a longer run at 60 MPH max. Even at 2*oC. But i have come off the charger and driven 1 mile up hill slightly to get home. I will see how the percentage is in 24 hours and 8 miles or so later tomorrow.
  7. Welcome. Sorry no idea, but @Carlstonmight be along and know what is what, and what suits what. ? So what engine / gearbox has your car? That might help anyone looking at the scores on the doors as far as part numbers.
  8. @J.R.I am pleased that you 'Give a ****'. There might well be no law broken, just them acting and trading in a way that Officers of the law or VOSA or whoever will be visiting them as they do. When VOSA do 'Checks' at or in the area of 'Recycle centres, Car Boot Sales, Cattle Markets, Race tracks etc and stopping vehicles and checking them and their trailers and tow bars and licences / waste permits etc the drivers that are then asked who fitted the tow bar or such are usually prepared to say exactly who if there is an issue with it. http://somersettowbars.co.uk/towbars
  9. I have said it a million times. Do not exaggerate. People do come to forums to moan, ask questions and report faults. Lots of people never do that until they are landed with a lemon, and wish they had checked the forums. They are buying only one car, they want a good one. There will be many many many very good ones, and they might be keepers. But we never know how good cars are at over 5 years old until they have been on the go for 5 years old and been serviced well or maybe not serviced well.
  10. ^^^ Edit, there is an issue straight away. Best deal with the 2nd thermostat issue. Then the Pollen filter. When was that checked / changed? & settings, and outside temperature because do not count on the AC if the outside temp is near freezing. ? What was the outside temp? ? Has the AC ever been serviced? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/509031-air-con-not-demisting
  11. That is quite a jump in price for them fitting 3 or 4 spark plugs to 2.0l & under petrol engine cars compared to 2021. Maybe they are not a Participating Dealership. or just a p!55 taking one. (They will be saying they are 'special spark plugs' like the Special Ones they might fit to a 3 cylinder car and charge the same money to supply and fit 1 plug less.
  12. You can fit your own tow bar and take the consequences. If there are issues, towing when the car can not legally tow. If it goes t1ts up it is between you, the law and insurers. As to a commercial business fitting the equipment and not complying, as hopeless as the Law is in England & Wales & Scotland or England they can and do act and prosecutions take place. As to the law or no law, or who GAF, then maybe there is nothing really to bother about if you are a business. They better be insured and carrying out work safely and fitting the correct parts / equipment safely. http://pfjones.co.uk/ec-towing-regulations.html http://ultimatetowbars.co.uk/tow-bar-type-approval
  13. @ApertureS "otherwise the fitters broke the law." If a Towbar fitter in the UK or EU does not know what they can buy in and supply or fit then they really are on very dodgy ground. They might be crap, but they are in deep poo supplying and fitting wrong towing equipment. As to being competent in fitting and electrics then that is something else. My good buddy is a Towbar Fitter and supplier and the employer of many others.
  14. No need for the E10 95 ron to be bad. It is what it is. It is not E5 97/99 ron or even 100 or 100 +. & not all Super Unleaded in the UK is equal in all of the UK. Autocar article this week in the subject if anyone wants to look for it. Or this.
  15. The Towbar will be perfect, EU / UK Approved otherwise the fitters broke the law. The Electrics are the issue, someone unqualified, or untrained or all the gear and no idea, or not all the gear. So get them to sort it out.
  16. ^^^ Exactly. What is the outside temp, Air temp above the ground / mirror height and the Ground Temp. below the front grills might be quite different. So how cold outside, how cold / damp in the car and is the Screen being blasted with cold, warm or hot air. It is not the AC that will demist the screen. The AC might not even function at below 4*oC or certainly not at 2*oC and lower. Not when starting a car, cold engine, cold coolant etc. Nice if it is Demisting needed inside and not thawing the ice where the condensation has frozen. So the AC needs to be doing it's thing when the car is out an about and drying the cars interior. On runs. Then when parked the car as dry as it can be before it gets cold. before the next start etc. ? Is the Pollen filter clean and dry, and the air intake that provides the air flow in the car? Then try and keep the inside moisture free even when there is a good functioning A/C system.
  17. I have no idea where SEAT / Cupra have got to with VW Group snagging issues with EV's. Those on here with Enyaq / ID.3 or 4,s might know how Updates, Recall Actions etc are going, or if SEAT / Cupra have managed to produce and deliver cars without the issues. Hopefully in Spanish there is a proper understanding of Vorsprung Durch Technik. If you fail with your advances in technology ,then shift your back end and get people in that do know what is required for the drivers / owners purchase. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/499985-dead-12v-battery http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/498588-cant-get-along-with-smart-charging-feature http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/506587-new-enyaq-delivery=gone-wrong http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/505928-no-software-update http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/498977-ota-updates http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/498649-charging-upgrade
  18. Actually lots of workers are driving EV,s. Like the council workers on local authorities around Scotland. The carers at my mum are in VW e-Ups. E Niro, Leaf etc. Then nurses and social work are in fleet EV,s or ones leased through schemes. Then Motability probably own the most EV,s of any group in the UK. Class and income really does not enter into things. Plenty minimum wage workers have EV,s. Non workers, self employed, trades etc. Taxis and couriers. Delivery drivers. Work place, public or private charging. On or off peak.
  19. Not had an opportunity to get on snow as none about locally. Not that cold either so heated seat working fine and heated steering wheel happy that the 12 volt battery is charged enough in the morning to actually work. Not using that much energy sitting at around zero C but I will see over the next few days if the same as last winter as I had a software update that has had an affect on how much I can charge of faster. Last year sometimes I was as low as getting 2 miles per kWh short few mile runs.
  20. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/504373-ea189-dieselgate-payout http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/504372-dieselgate http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/486766-anyone-making-a-new-claim-for-new-vw-emissions-dieselgate/page/2
  21. It is not the lack of orders. It is batteries. Including for PHEV,s and mild hybrids. And the chips. So VW group need MG and Geely and other Chinese makers to register more low emission cars to save them paying penalties because of VW,s actual average in the EU or now in the UK that has it,s own fleet emission limits.
  22. They never sold enough Yeti globally no matter how the numbers delivered was spun. People that bought one did buy another but plenty never bought a new one so that limits used ones. Same with the Roomster. There are enough going well for those that want one. Eventually like Defenders there will be Refurbished and modernised ones for sale. Costing much the same as when new. Classics.
  23. The point is is our 2.0 TDI. ok. If I was gifted a Fixed 1.6tdi I would automatically get that rolled back and remapped.
  24. It would be and that is the Contractor that runs VW customer services, then you get a communications manager, then eventually a Resolution Manager, then no further on sadly. But soon we will know how these DQ381,s are concerning longevity and fundamental flaws. No help now sadly.
