Tyre Wear - Karoq Sportline 1.5 tsi 2020
As the OP has posted they have driven lots of cars for lots of years and do not drive like a 'Car d!ck'. So really all about this car with these tyres. Hopefully @papasmurf can tell us what the opinion he got from a Dealership employee.

EV real world range and cost to charge
Is my 3 Pin EV charging cable which is pretty basic and plugs in and communicates with nothing other than the car a 'Smart cable', or just a Granny Cable? Sorry but reading that legislation i am as unsure as when i read @lol-lolpost about being 'illegal'.

Best or Favourite Cars You've Owned/Driven
It is a strange world just now and dealers / manufacturers can just sell or lease what they can produce and then register what people want. I like the look of Ford Pumas but have not gone and tried one yet. I could live with how they look.

EV real world range and cost to charge
So a Granny cable which i possess & might use to pre heat or even charge will not become 'illegal', not like an Air Weapon which there will be an amnesty to hand into a local police station. Is there a Gov UK website on the Legislation, a press release & an announcement on the Law in England / Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland? All those home and property owners becoming criminals / law breakers possibly if prosecuted having being charged with being in possession of a prohibited item or conspiring to share one with a motorist in need. The Daily Mail & Express will love this an GB News also.

Best or Favourite Cars You've Owned/Driven
My current Corsa-e which i spend lots of time in and in comfort, heated seat or steering wheel on when needed and no sore back or thigh. The seat, wheel and pedals are just in the right place and it is quick & handles well on narrow and hilly roads and is costing me nothing to run other than the weekly rent because i am using free electric. If it had to go today i would have another to replace it as not been able to find anything with as a good fit with the controls where i like them.

Will mk1 Octavia vRS wheel fit onto 5J Fabia?
@Carlston As for 17" Octavia Spider Alloys on a Fabia you missed last weeks thread where you could have posted about a hard ride. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/504701-wheels

EV real world range and cost to charge
So 'just the usual BS, as they' have no idea if i have an extension cable to a caravan or camper or greenhouse heater plugged into a 3 pin socket in my home with no smart meter and no off peak tariff. I have a 3 pin charger and am not buying another.

Thoughts on this Superb 280?
The Windscreen might have been replaced, and maybe more than once. That is something that needs checking with any used vehicle, demonstrator or even a brand new car. Is there any sign of badly fitted, are the functions of stuff that need calibrated working. Especially if done by someone with maybe none of the proper gear and little idea. My windscreens are always a mess even when almost new & horrible in bright sunlight, not from stone chips driving but because i am parked less than 1/4 of a mile from a quarry and the sharp sand sometimes blows towards the screen.

1.5 DSG MPG horrific
@kodiaqsportline So as you like to remind everyone i do not own a Skoda, or a lovely pair of Skoda like you do. I do own a Skoda though. Not with Active Cylinder Technology, and i never have owned one with it. Can you remind me what your forum name used to be before you took a break? Go try to wind up another. I get to drive the cars, only driven 2 pedal cars since the 70's, drove ACT & COD when they were first launched at demo days, and that was before you even seemed to know about DSG's or coasting etc when you had your previous name on the forum. That was when you and all the rest of us were armchair experts, just as we all still are, some of us even drive and hypermile or try to. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/401292-14-tsi-act-engine http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/442500-15tsi-act

Thoughts on this Superb 280?
The MOT was in March. Arnold Clark sold me a car that had failed on a broken spring but had a new spring fitted and it did have one when i got the car. Also new discs. Service & MOT 3,000 miles / 12 months later as part of a 2 year Service & MOT plan and i drop off the car and 30 minutes later a phone call there is a broken spring. The brakes were binding and they said a brake fluid change was overdue. 15 minutes i am back up there and the springs are off and in a skip and they can not show me them. They were not happy with my Trust Pilot entry, or on the AC Reviews, or me not paying the barstewards. I was annoyed that the bucket of rust i traded in made them good money at auction and then sold twice more at dealers and i got the speeding tickets and the NIP for not changing ownership. Odd as i kept my personal plate and others paid for VED on it as it was on Disabled class and needed changed.

@sheriffwoody Do not hang about if you like it and think OK. You have brought in onto an open forum. They might even hike the price if they get a few enquiries with people now fancying it.

Any Skoda main dealer or Skoda UK Customer services can send / show what is on the system but likely you have it all. A Fixed Service / Vehicle Health Check @ the 7 months. If on Variable servicing then the next should have been 18,000-20,000 miles / 24 months later, so 27,000 miles. not 33,000. If they do the Haldex now, and the DSG, plugs, pollen filter and brake fluid then good. It had a broken spring early on at a MOT, and a bad tyre. If the brakes are good, the tyres. the Windscreen then the car could be fine. Cheaper than a Skoda Approved Used car that never got much servicing.- the truth about electric cars
The delivery van thing is positive. So are the trades vans and utilities companies. But. Then there is then charging for 'long time mister'. You just relax and sit back as I charge for an hour or more while I eat something. This is the Infrastructure issue where employees are given light commercials and need to do public charging. But all is fair on the charger wars.- Thoughts on this Superb 280?
My niece bought this A1 the other week. She thought it looked great, FSH etc, then they screwed down on her trade in because not a FSH. I went and looked at the car she was buying and told them your FSH is not the Servicing the car should have done though. She has the car, so far so good. The extra Paint Protection she paid was a rip off, badly done, and stupid on a 6 year old car that she thought was 5 years old, but just as well she took a years warranty.- Thoughts on this Superb 280?
EDIT. You posted as i typed. Sorry. As long as you get a print out of what is on the Skoda System for Servicing, Service Campaigns or Recalls in the first year and since. Then any other records that the Dealer managed to get on a car they took in. The likes of the DSG & Haldex are things you can have done, or when you get the car you have time to find out if all is well with. Even just Consumers Rights is OK for the first months and then the RAC Warranty can pay out, but if the limit will not cover a DSG replacement then that is not great.- Can you ever fall in love with an EV the same way that people 'traditionally' have loved their petrol and diesel cars?
Lots of us like or love a real fire, coal burning, wood burning or even a bonfire. The smell in the air of lovely mature pine or some wood burning in a hearth in a town, village or in the countryside. Not the Hotel burning down! http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-60754370 Some still have these open or fossil fuel fires & heating / cooking systems if they own their home and will as long as they live and for some the days are numbered. Sooner in cities you might expect than out in remote areas. Aberdeenshire Council decided that Council Tenants could no longer have open fires in Braemar, much to those that know how important they can be when storms mean their in no electricity and they have no mains gas. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-59998090 There might be some meaning to my blethering, or maybe not. Still a filling station in Braemar with a generator and a EV Charging Hub without a generator & luckily still horses about & people with saws, axes etc.- Stage one remap for a 2 ltr diesel
There were others including members here that preferred their 150 ps TDI over a 184 PS one. I went for the 150 ps when i could have chosen the 184 ps then had it remapped. The reason being i wanted the lighter more basic Alhambra that came with smaller wheels and bigger sidewalls.- Thoughts on this Superb 280?
Haldex £100 plus, done properly. Not the Skoda Main Dealership way. DSG £215 or so at a Skoda Main Dealer. The point is the RAC Warranty. The Service items are overdue if not done. But then they are giving a Warranty. I traded in a car with a RAC Approved Dealership. Sight Unseen. FSH. Certainly not main dealer and certainly not to Manufacturers recommendations. It was better than to the Skoda Recommendations. They had it advertised for sale after hours the night it was dropped off and with the RAC Warranty and 91 point inspection which was not yet done. But that is how things can be with Used Cars. EDIT. Just posted in my first post by mistake. PS RAC 6 month warranty. Check T&C's on that. Max limit of a claim in £££'s. & what is the deal if you go for longer than 6 months cover. The last car i bought with the RAC Warranty and free recovery took me days to sort out because the Traders staff messed up. I did get the £100 cheque and a Free Holiday offer if i had wanted to pay to get a Free Holiday. - Thoughts on this Superb 280?
