  1. @ck6120 Very strange from them. I would have thought they would have wanted it away before the end of this month.
  2. That is good info. & can we assume was on a Mk1 Fabia? What were the issues, was it a ABS warning light or the cars behaviour?
  3. @ck6120 So was it a stock car actually with them after the 1st April or one in stock as in transit to them? Are they not selling like hot cakes and the one offered already gone? Maybe someone at the dealership or a family member fancies it for themselves if a specced up car.
  4. So that is width covered. 5% profile of 195 width, neither here nor there. When you actually put them on and drive the car. What about the 3.1 or even 3.4% difference in diameter front to rear? The ABS does not care a jot. I have had 205/45 R 17 on the front and 205/40 R 17 on the rear and winter / all weathers where the size on the tyre is not matching what a tyre calculator shows the circumference to show. That might only be near 3.5% difference with a tape measure around the tyres. ? How much before a ABS issue shows do you have to have the difference? It is sometimes when you actually use the different sizes and run the cars that you know what does or does not happen. I used to put on the bigger tyres on the front and run them for a few days or weeks before the matching rears went on or if the weather never changed they rears did not go on. A Pirelli Zero Nero 205/40 R 17 could be bigger or the same size as than another manufacturers 215/40 R 17 or 205/45 R 17 More of a circumference than others 205/40 R 17's
  5. Everyone does unless it is forgotten to be put in at a dealership or checked for, sometimes they are in the under seat storage when there is under seat storage. Sometimes they are on the salespersons desk with the keys and other stuff when a good salesperson does a hand over. They ask the new owner if they are happy with everything, have any questions and can they go over the controls with them. Sometimes a salesperson even knows how controls work in the cars.... They might even have looked in an Owners Manual.
  6. @ck6120 Is it a brand new unregistered car with just delivery km on it, or one they have registered and sitting as a showroom car yet to become a demonstrator?
  7. Exactly like those. Like the ones many have that park their car and get their newspaper before heading off for a game of golf, or leave the car and take their dog for a walk 3 miles around the loch from my local Tesco. While sitting charging i get more time to watch the parking habits of others. Like those that park in the disabled bay at Tesco maybe go in or maybe not and then head off down town to do their shopping where parking is a problem. When you know the people and have for years you are a bit more clued up to their habits. Some with a disability & a Blue Badge and a Motability car or their own car will park a bit further away where the car might not get damaged and get a bit of exercise walking to the store and maybe back pushing a trolley.
  8. The MOT is cheaper. But as pointed out earlier that is just a car inspected on a day to a minimum road safety condition. The AA inspection will be done by whoever has the contract with the AA and must be worth something even if the car is not on a ramp or a brake tested.
  9. & they are a PCD of 5 x 100 The Comet alloys were fitted to Fabia Reaction in the UK. Monte Carlo's came with 17" Trinity in the UK. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/392755-euro-spec-smaller-alloys-for-monte-carlo
  10. Channel 4 has coverage of Live Formula E Monaco ePrix. At least you get time to watch the scenery as there is not much to follow watching the cars and the annoying noise can be turned down on the telly and that means the excited commentators are also silent. What a load of guff IMO.
  11. @Avocet pointless doing the tests manufacturers do for the WLTP or RDE2 as they are nothing but fiction running tests to a ridiculous route / speeds and on rolling roads. The issue is that engine management has been to get the results required at tests rather than out on the road with owners. Hence the lack of torque / kangerooing when VW group had to manipulate the results before certification. The VW defeat device crimes were revealed first by tuners that knew VW had been at it. The software was written to know when vehicles were on rolling roads and being tested.
  12. Good. It matters what the condition is now not how it was before this last keeper. So 2 former keepers. No idea how many drivers. The first keeper could have been Mrs Hertz / Eurocar. Check what was done at the Major Services because a Skoda Main Dealer Major Service might just mean a Pollen Filter changed over and above what is done at a Minor / Interim or any other name used for a service between Majors if there are any between a Major. Is there anything not done that might invalidate the Warranty? There should not be if Serviced to the Manufacturers Recommendations. The bottom blue chart just gives an idea of what Skoda have as recommendations / guidelines as not often is the word schedule used but it is on a recent Skoda UK website.
  13. The Fabia Mk2's ABS cares not if there are different sized / diameter / circumference tyres front or rear and neither does the ESP if the car had it as standard or an option, or does the TPMS if set. Not all had ESP fitted right up to the Mk2 Fabia being discontinues. The reason i know and others do is because they have used different sized tyres on the front / rear. Matching sizes as a pair at front or at rear. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/473927-mixing-tyre-sizes
  14. I am getting past going FFS and just move on. But i might still take a picture after i pull into the Disabled bays if they are not all occupied by lots with invisible disabilities, If driving a Up!MiiCitigo electric you can just park & charge on the stripy lines and not stick out on the road. (That seems to be where some think the electric car charging spot is anyway.)
  15. @ApertureS If buyer wants more Servicing done before a purchase and want to pay for it, get a receipt then yes i have that done. I always count the cost of the car having a full MOT to the price the car is and that is because it adds in profit IME. When you are a Dealership / Trader you pay tax on profits and costs of repairs, servicing, valeting are your costs that you spend and the profit is the difference between buying, selling and what you can show as expenses. A fresh MOT can save or reduce any argument as far as i am concerned because it is a trusted testing station doing tests for me. Rural areas might well be different from big towns and cities where people know the garages, the traders and the test stations.
  16. @ApertureS are you a used cars salesperson / trader as well as being a mechanic? £23-£30 or so for a MOT done is just such a simple thing to do for someone buying a car from you and then they can take it to someone they trust and have another if the want and maybe pay the full price.
  17. @Phutters You should know your cars condition as you look after it or not. If you bought a car last night online when celebrating your winnings you might want to know what it needs doing to be safe on the road, or as safe as a MOT test might indicate it is. I bought this one. I knew the condition, & It went straight for a MOT.
  18. You can MOT a car anytime you want in the UK. Many are MOT'd pre sale to come with a new MOT. You can test one today and it can fail on a Major item and need to be taken off the road. Your 4th September date is to keep the MOT at the present & might matter to some who want to keep MOT's being yearly. Many are not as they are SORNED, off road being repaired, not MOT'd until 6 months late because of Covid rules that allowed that. I MOT a car before selling one, or when buying one if i want to know what to do to it.
  19. Welcome to the forum. What the car is like now 3 years on is what matters. So what it's condition is now as the keeper last year maybe gave it care and arrention. Is there a new windscreen in now. What condition are all 4 tyres and is there a spare. Since last year have the brake pads been replaced maybe even the discs replaced. The MOT they are going to do now before you buy the car is important. Do not take it with the MOT expiring in October. If the place selling it is a MOT Station or a mate does it then that is not always the best thing. But if they pass what should not pass or there is stuff that should be at advisories there is some comeback when you get the DVSA in if necessary. ? If there is a Full Skoda Main Dealer History what is the History? Has it been 3 Variable Oil & Filter Services only. Was the brake fluid changed @ 2019 or since, the pollen filter changed a couple of times, maybe the air filter. Have the spark plugs been replaced. If it has a DSG was that serviced? Full Skoda Service Histories should leave you in no doubt what service and maintenance or warranty work was done and put on the system. Paper invoices and receipts help. Serviced to recommendations or OIl & Inspection Services and Extended Scope means nothing.
  20. Everyday is a school day. I never knew Skoda's no longer came with a printed owners manual.
  21. That is an issue then. It was for you to get the Financial Agreement & T&C's and read them. If that needed pushed at the Dealership then that was who to push. If it was Skoda or VW Finance or whoever then that was who to push 2 years ago or since. The Extended Warranty needs to be applied before the car is first registered, lots of sales people said it had to be when ordered, that was wrong. Good luck with things. If refunds are available before the car is over 3 years old and the extension covering year 4 or 5 starts then i could see plenty wanting that refund.
  22. I have only ever known of the Extended Warranty staying with the car when sold or traded in. People have bought a used Skoda and only after found out it has an extended warranty beyond the UK 3 year manufacturers warranty. I must try and look at the T&C's where it says you can get a refund before 3 years has passed.
  23. @AnoopAKC Do you mean you bought the car new and before it was first registered you paid for the extended warranty for year 4 or 4 and 5 and now you have sold the car?
  24. Thanks. So a Financial Agreement. Was it mis-sold, or mis-represented and are you cancelling within 14 days. No T&C's provided before purchase etc. Or was it some other issue. Is the seller / dealership not who needs dealing with. The one that needs a solicitors letter if that is what it takes to get their attention. The CAB is often enough to get a Scottish Dealership to play the game.
  25. Welcome. Can you hint at what your problem is? MATHEW BOWDEN took over as Director of Skoda UK on February 1st 2022. https://cn.linkedin.com/in/matthewbowden2 Someone at Skoda / VW UK will see these posts. They say never listen to forums, funnily they know what is posted though. When you did get communications to the Brand Director it was passed to senior team members. Recently that was Kate Laws who is Senior Management and was a Resolutions Manager. https://uk.linkedin.com/in/kate-laws-88b559144 VW UK have Skoda CEO's / Brand Directors coming and going very regularly now. You just need to refer for the attention of, or deal with VW UK, Customer Services Managers like ones that have been talked about on here recently seem to not know there arse from elbow and certainly seem to have little knowledge of ongoing issues that customers have and they have never heard of.
