EPC Light + Oil warning disappear after engine turn on
You said the EPC & Engine light (Exhaust / Emissions control) are going out once the engine is started. So good. (The OIl warning Lights do not show up as a test pre start or when running.) Best check levels and tyres, and the wheel nut tightness etc, tool kit, spare wheel if you have one. ? Is the servicing up to date, stuff done & how many miles has the car done? EDIT, Sorry, how many km covered Brake Fluid replaced or checked for H20, maybe Spark plugs changed, Pollen Filter, Air Filter checked or replaced etc. Not just showing as FMDSH or Full Service History.

EPC Light + Oil warning disappear after engine turn on
Yellow Oil Can is Low Oil, & Red Can light is low oil pressure. They do not check with other lights / symbols on the dash. PS. Have you checked the Oil level cold since getting the car and compared when hot/ @ operating temp with the engine stopped. Just to know where that is now. (If you ever get a low oil warning or low oil pressure be aware that if you open the bonnet and do nothing the warning will go out for 60 miles or so, so best run the correct quality of oil.) Also check and set the tyre pressures and then reset the TPMS. Check where the coolant level is is now.

EPC Light + Oil warning disappear after engine turn on
Welcome. The first lights system check is done with just the ignition on. The check of the EPC and OIl are not being done until the engine is started / running..

8,000 miles and needs oil?
To VW508 00 / 509 00 So that will be 0w 20 FS IV. (it could be VW 504 00 / 507 00 if you use what VW Group recommended before going to te latest recommendation.) Which manual? The one that says the same for every engine and has for decades. May use 0.5 litres in 1,000 km (621 miles) May use more in the first 5,000 km. Is that a 1/4 of a US Gallon or an Imperial one? That is not a serious question. When did you last check the oil, and have you checked it since collecting the car? Owners manuals can have arse covering stuff like possible oil use, but then checking oil with new cars is 'Simply Clever', and responsible as a driver

Octavia II 4X4 under floor Boot Space
- Kamiq review - short and sweet
@carefree What was the actual RRP of the Kamiq Monte Carlo you have? ? How much was a Fabia vRS in 2004, almost £13,000 ?- Kamiq review - short and sweet
That is exactly what Skoda are, mainstream and really not more premium than a Peugeot or Ford at the same RRP's. Skoda is a low volume seller in the UK and are slipping with Quality Control and after sale and warranty issues where there are faults that should never have been signed off or models allowed to leave the factories.- Octavia II 4X4 under floor Boot Space
Have you not asked yet? All can be good if they have to pay to have the oil collected and they can get some away to someone they trust that will not dump what they get. The issue can be is where whoever collects now pays for what they get.- Octavia II 4X4 under floor Boot Space

- the truth about electric cars
So just had Arnold Clark on the phone. I called to see about getting 2 Recall Actions carried out. Also the Service Indicator says i am 150 miles over the Service due even though the Service is not due until August by time or miles even if i do 1,000 miles a month between now and then. But the car dash has lost 12,500 miles off the milometer which it did a few weeks back. Arnold Clark's failed last time to reset the Service Indicator, or complete the service as they had no EV Tech in the morning they got the car. Planned date 3 weeks in advance. So i told them i need a car for a minimum of 4 days even though it should be serviced and the recall actions should be only 4 hours. No problem as the lady knows sometimes they never get the Updates done as the systems can shut down and they then need to have Proper People with proper knowledge sort things out. I said i need an Automatic. Well that is a problem, Arnold Clark Scotlands biggest car group has no Automatic Courtesy cars. So i said not really a problem as they will have to get a hire car so that they can service a Motability owned Vauxhall EV. It might be May before the car can go in and she will talk with Motability and see if they will hire a car. I will talk with Motability and ask why any customer should get a EV that needs serviced at Arnold Clark. I will ask Vauxhall UK why their EV cars and after sales are so crap. EDIT, actually the car has lost 12,500 miles off it as it should be over 25,000 miles and the phone app has no idea what the car has done in term of miles since new, this year or even this week. I can no longer sit with the radio on charging or not as the car goes into ECO mode and shuts down.- the truth about electric cars
An hour later when i went back he was leaving the car park and i have no idea when he had got back to the car but a Blue Tesla had got on the charger but at least the driver was with the car. I got 8 kWh at Tesco which will do me until i get a free charge in Perthshire. I really am being tight. The past 600 miles has cost me nothing in charging. It has been a bit of a PITA with chargers that will not start or cut out early.- EV real world range and cost to charge

The OP seems to be looking at what others have done. Best that people know the differences with SVO or WVO. It is worth people saying what country they are in and in what climate. There are threads on the forum if anyone does a search. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/278309-my-unsuccessful-journey-into-veg-oil http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/502471-views-on-bio-diesel http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/492356-vegetable-oil http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/467506-veg-oil http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/359472-veg-oil-in-my-2001-tdi-90bhp-octavia-my-experience-so-far- the truth about electric cars
This is Real World EV driving. Only 1 CCS 50 kW charger and someone parks their car / company car or private for hours where there is charging, in this case 23 pence a kWh. If the charger has cut out, or just the battery is full the car stays plugged in and not charging and nobody else can get charging until the driver decides to check on their car. This is particularly annoying if they just need a phone alert or check on the car from wherever they are off too for hours. Here at least others know who the car belongs to and if the wrap is not enough there is the personal plate. F8 ATH.- Octavia II 4X4 under floor Boot Space
Straight Vegetable Oil will soon be as expensive as diesel. Waste Vegetable Oil made into Bio might be a different matter if producing yourself.- Superb 272 bhp 2018 - which DSG does it use?
@mutha88Welcome. What country are you buying the car in? It certainly should be a 7 speed DSG. Even if it shows as Full Main Dealer Servicing you want to know what that is over and above Fixed or Variable Oil & Filter Services and look see's and reports. You want to see the invoice / receipt for the actual work done. So if the car has done 40,000 miles or over the DSG should have had an oil change. @ 3 years / 30,000 miles the Haldex should have had an oil change and cleaning of the filter / pump. Also the brake fluid changed @ 3 years or now at 4 years or at least the brake fluid checked for H20 content. The Spark Plugs might be due replacing if it is at 40,000 miles. EDIT, PS. Just noticed a left hand drive , So if it is in km and not miles just do the conversion but for the Haldex the 3 miles / 48,000 km is Important that it was done, as is the 64,000 km for the DSG having been serviced.- vRS Engine Cover Recall
@liveseytowers The receptionist you spoke to maybe thinks it was an April Fools message that car owners received or that Skoda are lying to owners that paid for vehicles with an engine cover and that they will be obliged to come up with a new one. VW Group including Skoda have had to admit dishonesty in the past with products they sold and they can not be caught lying or cheating again.- Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
Lots to do with needing to meet the required Average Co2 emissions. Now the UK has separate figures from the EU. So SEAT are late to the party with the Hybrids and EV's and never First Registered enough Mii Electrics in 2020 / 2021. They have been trying very hard to get Hybrids into the UK and Registered and now need to get BEV's in this year. They need to get enough low emission cars registered in 2022, as do Skoda, VW & Audi in the UK even though they have the Partners signed up that do have low emission cars to help them not be paying a penalty.- Octavia Mk4 vs Superb Estate?
Welcome. Not an answer to your questions, but. Is the car built and on it's way to a dealer or already in the country? Or when does the Salesperson think you will get a new car if ordered now and is that likely to be a Factory order car which will be a MY23 and will it be delivered in 2022 or maybe 2023? Best that you look through the Octavia Mk4 section and see the issues some are having with the tech the cars have up to now. That is not obviously everyone, but then not all Mk4 Octavia owners come to forums with or without issues.- Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
SEAT have to keep the factories in Spain building cars when they can and as with Skoda, VW & Audi production is not at a total halt. Cars are going out to various countries and world regions, just not as quick as many would like. - Kamiq review - short and sweet
