Left-foot braking, anyone?
I had Escorts with Autoboxes. Ford never did any Automatic RS / Mexico or with much in the way of power or braking ability. The Autoboxes were nice and simple though.

Skoda Octavia Mk3 TDI remap options and tips
The threads in the Performance section covering remaps / tuning boxes & Euro 5 TDI's will be as relevant now as when people posted as nothing new has come into being over the past few years. Even ones about Euro 6 TDI's are relevant.

First tuning thoughts..... ??
@Smoothrunnings When your insurance needs renewing change to a company that will cover the remap you want to have done. Best know what you have before buying remaps saying what 'might be achievable' and is that on 95 ron E10 or is it on 97/99 E5 Super Unleaded. Good clean filter, good plugs correctly gapped and a tank of 99 ron petrol can make a car feel as though it has more go and that is for the normal Servicing cost and about £2.50 extra per tank for Tesco Momentum 99 over their 95 ron Unleaded.

Left-foot braking, anyone?
@agedbriar if you were as good or better at kicking a football with your left foot as your right or better with the left then maybe left foot braking will be dead easy for you. ? How is practice going?

Rear shock absorber issue
You best go into a garage or tyre and exhaust centre and see that a spring is not broken, and see just how the damper is. ? What Octavia, engine / gearbox is it?

Where's all the Adblue?
If owners need to put their diesels with SCR off the road so be it. Let Grant Shapps and Boris make plans to have it sorted out by 2025 or when ever. There is a war going on in Europe but Britain has trade deals that can fix everything. This is just something else to increase inflation and to add to shortages. Those pouring sunflower oil into their diesel car tank now might have to go back to derv. They have no Adblue worries though.

shallow sump question
No doubt! But thinking costs nothing If the capacity is not less than someone running a low quantity because they wait for warning lights then that might be fair enough.

@higgins57just how much less oil will there be for the cooling that the normal quantity of oil provides.

Servicing costs for electric cars
@cheezemonkhai mentioned EV and overdrive for cruising recently. Just this week I learned about the different gearing on AWD Tesla and the rear motors differently geared than the front. Front about acceleration and rear more efficient cruising along.

You do need to do an oil change on some such as this Tesla model. (Reduction gear oil.) 2 hours & £19 in parts.- Assistance in attaining a value after write off.
They know how to get the cost up & the Extras / specialist costs are interesting. You must have one crap insurer that never got you are hire car, but then the cost of hire / courtesy cars is what has lead to cars being written off and ridiculous Insurance Work quotes / estimates.- Assistance in attaining a value after write off.
At least it was a VW Group Approved body shop and the BMW bit does not matter. ? Is this an accident where you were at fault and are having to suffer the loss / expence?- Assistance in attaining a value after write off.
Who is the Engineer working for? I do not mean the Insurance Company but who is his employers. What did you pay for it and can you find another at that price or less? If that is a Write off then i would be wanting to be able to buy it back. Sounds like nonsense to me, an ex car sprayer. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/503078-vrs-limited-edition- Left-foot braking, anyone?
Brake Boosting- Left foot braking or brake boosting added. Showed with APR here. https://www.goapr.com/products/software/ecu_upgrade/parts/ECU-20T-EA113-T-K04 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/332992-dsg-drivers-who-left-foot-brakes- Servicing costs for electric cars
VW looks to be at it as usual and the dealerships will be making nice profits when it comes to the actual labour and parts and the pricing.- Left-foot braking, anyone?
'Paddles' is that maybe? I do manual downshifts with the stick, and sometimes drop a gear and still do a kickdown, or even a double kickdown to get a shift on. Or stick back to S and still a kickdown if required. Left foot braking with a DSG wet or dry clutch is fine as long as the accelerator is not being touched. (That is just as if the right foot was off the accelerator and across onto the brake. Do not have both pedals pressed at the same time..) The brake pedal pressed / touched signals to the engine to cut power and acts on the clutches. Even VW with the Rally Reccy cars with DSG's had to have the DSG mapped so that left foot braking could be done. I only have one foot so can not be on 2 pedals, and when i was sprinting or doing the quarter mile with DQ200 DSG's i never held the car held on the foot brake because of the delay, but then there was a hand brake to release and not an E-brake. Autohold would have been fine then.- Servicing costs for electric cars
The issue is Estimating and What Car. Seems like total nonsense unless they are itemising the services and how they get to that figure if it is 3 services and maybe 36,000 miles. Hopefully others will know what they have signed up to for service plans or what the prices they have been given. I have no idea how much Main Dealerships might be trying to rip off owners or those leasing.- E10 fuels
Decrease MPG being bad, increased being better. @Expatman Thats how it can go with the E10 is a the lower ron/ octane being 95, and the Super Unleaded E5 being 97 or 99 minimum in the UK. (Sainsbury's best being 97 ron min usually but maybe sometimes higher octane if they got a good deal from Shell or Greenergy at some time so 99 min.) There is nothing better than running the fuels keeping accurate records and knowing what your particular engines likes. There never was anything green other than spin from the government if emissions are not lower with people actually needing to buy more fuel and fuels are delivered by diesel or marine fuel oil tankers. Greener if they manage to kill older cars and put them off the road but not if then drivers buy new ones. ....................... Super Unleaded / E5 as you get it in the UK since September 2021.- 2.0 TSI Remap Options
Thanks. You do not see that when on a phone, or i don't.- 2.0 TSI Remap Options
You do not retain a Warranty if in the T&C,s and exclusions talk about Factory Approved Engine management / software or Hardware. Fitting a tuning box which really needs declaring with an insurer means that any Loss Adjuster working for the Manufacturer / Warranty Provider / financial establishments can check. Manufacturers are not stupid and going to pay out thousands of any currency if they can get out of it. @theEntreriCode how did you manage to buy 6 years of a warranty? If you have the car as a keeper it is as well to enjoy it for the time you own it and get a remap and if things fail with the engine or drivetrain then pay to fix them. If you are just driving public roads with the car then are you even using half the cars potential standard or tuned? - Servicing costs for electric cars
