1.5TSi MPG
@Karock. Did the car happen to get an oil and filter change at around 10,000 miles?

Simply not needed. When they are they will be introduced. Lots of times you are coasting and using little energy or regening energy while still maintaining speed. If you get behind a vehicle at a safe distance and draft it you can see clearer even than in an ICE vehicle just how little energy you can use. I have to do that sometimes to get to a working charger. You watch the Indicator and Dash instant show GREEN or BLUE or GREY and how much or little energy is used. You have cars with setting that reduce power or just functions in the car to make more ECO. My car can be ECO & 80ps, Normal 110 ps or Sport 136 ps. Some will put into CC and be at ECO or Normal and maintain speed and hope for better economy / range, personally i find CC on does not drive as efficiently as driving the car and getting better regen than you do with CC.

Eco mode question
The OP has a 1.6 TDI with a 7 speed Twin Clutch DSG so comparing TSI's and TSI ACT's is apples and pairs. There is S to hold the gears, maybe use kickdown or not, but this will be feeling a bit different than with a 1.0, 1.5 or 2.0 TSI. The 1.6TDI driven just in D might be more economic than any of those on the Devon / Edinburgh & back trip even with the price of diesel a bit higher. The OP will be able to tell us how economic heading north and again back south.

MK2 Fabia VRS
^^^ Nail on head. @Churchyy That is where you need to see what is fitted now. What springs, dampers, are they standard and the original factory or already upgraded, is there a rear ARB fitted. Are you sure there is not a remap on the ECU already. Get the car on a dyno maybe and see how much power it has and as it left the factory, or as is after the new engine was fitted.

New tires needed.
You can only use 15" tyres on 15" wheels. If you want !6" or 17" Tyres you need to get other wheels. Briskoda For Sales might have someone near Lanark selling some.

New tires needed.
The 205/60 R 15 might appear rare but they are not extinct. Just check who can supply that tyre size and what tyres you want at what price and order 4 or 5 of them. Is it more choice of tyres you want in another size or just being able to buy tyres cheaper? https://asdatyres.co.uk/205-60-15 http://blackcircles.com

MK2 Fabia VRS
There is so much in the Fabia Mk2 section and the Fabia Project Section has members cars covering upgrades and remaps etc for 12 years now. ? So is it a car with a CAVE engine from 2010-2012 a CTHE from 2012-2014/15? Best thing is run it for a while using E5 Super Unleaded and see how the power is and that all is well. Be sure that the servicing is up to date, good spark plugs fitted, clean air filter, good oil etc. Tyres & Brakes and wipers are all good. Handling good and suspension not needing a refresh. Exhaust is good. Then enjoy the car awhile before starting to try and improve it.

@cheezemonkhai Any EV's range for the battery size is how many miles per kWh they get and Nissan are going to be getting pretty much the same as anyone else for the size of the car. It is the older Hyundai Ioniq with the 28 kWh battery which seems to get better efficiency than others or the top Mercedes. Any others are pretty much of a likeness with Tesla at the top most of the time. Rubbish efficiency really getting @ motorway speeds just 2.7 miles to the kWh in an empty car (Without the seat and boot occupied) @ 7*oC without knowing what the tyre pressures were at but being a media car they were likely overinflated. This might even reflect on the ride. How a cars suspension and handing is with people in a car should be more important to reviewers than how with just them if reviewing / test driving a large car / family car. Possible EV Taxi.- the truth about electric cars
Instead of the 1-1.5 mile to the kWh i was getting on my 6 miles or so a day, i now get an indicated 3 miles to the kWh and have been actually getting 4 miles to the kWh, same journey, 6 to 8 x 0.7 miles a day. The difference is that it is at least 10 degrees C warmer as the car is sitting first thing than over a week ago then during the day is going as much as another 10*oC. higher.- Build Times for new Karoq
It can not be expected that those working for or on behalf of Skoda are going to read Skoda press releases or know their ar53 from their elbow. https://www.skoda.co.uk/discover/car-dealerships-open-digitally-coronavirus- Scala 1.0 tsi,dsg 2020 model.
Yes it clears the water but does not apply brakes so the car is not braking or possibly aqua planing. So really what a owner needs sometimes after a service of a car is a 2nd and honest opinion from those not up-selling in the way too many UK Dealerships do.- the truth about electric cars
There is a need for a better system than WLTP and the fiction that comes from that.- Scala 1.0 tsi,dsg 2020 model.
@OmnikingAre you meaning the Twin Dry Clutch DSG? Having a DQ200 dsg does not mean you need to be using the brake pedal more, you have an automated manual which actually works ok at slowing the car. Sometimes the brake wear / supposed brake pad and disc wear is more to do with not using the brakes much other than to clean off the rust that is there after each time the car is parked. As to measurements given at a Main Dealer Service that might be given as 80% worn when there is not even 20% of wear. Then there is the advice to change brake pads that a customer gets, yet if they were to trade the car in and buy a car at the dealers their car would get prepped for resale with no new pads fitted.- 1.8TSI and 2.0TSI engine failures
It matters not who produces the 5w 40 FS to VW 502 00 for retailers, be that for Tesco, ASDA, or any discount supermarkets. As long as it is not Long Life oil it will be just fine in a TSI getting fixed service interval oil and filter changes. (Long Life Oils and Euro 5 VW TSI's might mean short life engines. MIGHT!.)- Air induction kit for Octy TSI
For a 1.4 TSI i would avoid a K&N if that is a treated filter than needs / cleaning & re-oiling to get any value / longer life out of them for the silly price. Actually i avoid K&N other than where a filter is exposed to water and dust etc on the likes of offroaders with Cone Filters. There are plenty Performance Filters about, and many are no better with a 1,390 cc TSI with a remap than a good clean standard filter.- Fabia monte carlo eibach springs
Way back in the day. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/196956-my-new-fabia-monte-carlo- H&R or Eibach
- Fabia monte carlo eibach springs
To my memory standard the Monte and vRS were 10 mm lower as per brochures and the dealer fit Eibach were shown as 15mm lower than STANDARD models. At the debates back over 10 years ago I said measure to the roof height as Skoda numbers are fiction. Greenline ground clearance was the tyre circumference difference and under panels. A vRS cover under the engine gave even less clearance than Greenline plastic.- Fabia monte carlo eibach springs
The UK Monte Carlos on Trinity Alloys & 205/40 R 17's,. had and have the same roof height and ground clearance figures as a vRS. These were given as less then the other models. Then the Greenline was less again. This is where Skoda called the Monte and vRS suspension SPORT. The threads are here from 2010 with all the scores on the doors.- Gearbox in emergency mode - no reverse gear
Really the Wet clutch DSG's are reliable and as far as i am concerned a joy. With the 7 speed wets there have been a few reported issues since they became available and really until they are on the roads 4 or 5 years you never know how well VW Group Skoda have got on with them for people wanting 5 year old cars and older as keepers. That is the same with any new introduction or evolution from VW Group. As long as they just face up to any having issues or reasons for them to just put on their big boy trousers and admit they are responsible if the number that might have issues is too high and their fault.- Nissan Ariya.
Hopefully the answer to many peoples EV needs and wants.- Gearbox in emergency mode - no reverse gear
The replacement MCU only has a warranty as long as this Extended Warranty runs so to have 2 years parts and labour warranty on the MCU you need to pay some money towards in, even a couple of quid. Since this is not really possible best you get an extended warranty, All in or any that covers the DSG / MCU. They can not say 'there is a known issue' so Warranty not valid, as they are fixing the car and there is no 'known issue' after repaired.- Air induction kit for Octy TSI
Did whoever did the remap not have any recommendation on better induction from the experience they have of tuning and the cars on the dyno? Are they not a mechanic who can fit it for you?- Diy DSG oil change
OK, just wondered since the Haldex Service is due 10,000 miles before a DSG service. - Nissan Ariya.
