MK2 Fabia VRS
All a location location location thing. A Mk2 Fabia can be a rusting mess in less than 5 years / 50,000 miles and some of the first ones are still nice. The front drivers springs are prone to snapping. I have pictures of one of the buckets of crap i had. Looked rough, went like sh!te off a a shovel. When i changed springs it was ones that were 'Take offs' from the dealers fitting Eibach at the PDI that i used. The tyres i used were the Dunlop Sportmaxx takeoffs that Skoda had replaced by Pirelli Zero Nero's when they could not sort the Pulling to the Left because of incompetence. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/434438-corroded-rear-silencers Here was a 7 year old vRS.

Oil temperature
@Bob3 Is that 'Overheat' you mean, and is that the Coolant. @brettikivihas a question there about oil temperature. So what is the story with your car and Oil temp. Is the coolant indicated temp getting to the 90*oC or so in the time it should for the weather and then your oil getting to 90*oC indicated in the time it should and going up and coming back to that as it should do?

Delivery lead-time
The need to meet the Average Co2 emissions in the EU might affect how keen Skoda / VW are to get the electrified vehicles first registered. They were desperate in the past 2 years to get more and more registered in the UK as it has the figures separate from the EU but now with partners like MG helping them get the results they are not so desperate. Maybe one thing making a difference will be getting the cars paid for with GBP rather than Euro's or just the Dealerships needs to be shifting more EV's and meeting the demand if the demand is actually still high as government incentives / grants drop.

MK2 Fabia VRS
@Churchyy Sounds positive. When was the replacement engine fitted & the clutch packs replaced? Is there a letter from Skoda confirming the engine replacement? Has the water pump been replaced?

DSG advice request
^^^ Exactly. Especially as the owner / driver was not aware there was an issue and it appears to have been noticed at a service on a road test by whoever. @Andy_Enyaqhas a proper diagnosis been carried out and is the car now off the road, or at the dealers or what is going on. ? Was it the master tech that test drove the car? Mr DEACON or Deacon from SKODA / VW UK Customer Services maybe needs to talk with the Dealerships Master Tech about this very rare or unheard of issue with DQ200 DSG's that Skoda produce in normal times more than 2,200 a day of for the VW Group. Maybe this is the person with the keyboard and communications skills but no degree or experience of Mechanical Engineering.

Delivery times?
@MiniNinjaRob You are posting on this thread and appear happy! Where in the title or the OP is there a clue about this thread being about it being to discuss long delivery times? Is it not about people discussing 'Delivery times' that they are given or when they have received cars? People happy are posting and there are lots of Skoda Owners and prospective owners on this forum. There are lots that are happy on it and there will be many not happy that are not on it. PS Sometimes there are Skoda Employees that come on the forum and do not tell anyone that they are. That happens on the Dealers section occasionally where they say what a great service they get. There used to be a Director Owner of a big Dealership Group that came on with attitude when criticised or posts were negative about their terrible customer service. I never remember him coming on when someone big upped his Organisation. .......................................................................................................... Undecided.
It is 99 g/km as per cars Registration with the DVLA. Check of it has had the 'VW Emissions fix' So new engine management and a flow device fitted. If it shows as Not Affected that probably means it was done. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions

Octavia iV Estate - flat 12v battery
@PhevFunLife When you are locked out and the EV can not start you are locked out. No idea what you mean about the -20, is that degrees celsius? The 12v batteries on some are flat when the weather is not freezing. PS I see now you are in Finland. ? What EV is it you have in mind?

Octavia iV Estate - flat 12v battery
@PhevFunLifeBest do your research then before committing & be aware that even BEV's can suffer from flat 12V batteries and that is not only VW Group ones.

England EV Charging points, a proposal. & location & news on new charging hubs in England & Wales.
I missed what Grant Shapps MP was saying on the telly this morning but it was obviously going to be positive about the future. https://news.sky.com/story/electric-cars-positive-news-for-ev-owners-as-plan-to-boost-number-of-public-charge-points-unveiled-12574519 https://www.gov.uk/government/news/tenfold-expansion-in-chargepoints-by-2030-as-government-drives-ev-revolution

Delivery times?
@Weed0 Welcome to the forum. Can you say what country you are in and maybe even the name of the Dealership which will then give people more of an idea about things. Especially if they have a car ordered from the same place.

Scoping out Superb L&K models - what to look out for?
Welcome, What does the service record show as being done other than Oil & Filter Services? Was the DSG Serviced at 40,000 miles, was the Haldex done in 2019 or at 30,000 miles and again @ 60,000 or before now in 2022?

- vRS Engine Cover Recall
When a Safety Recall in the UK the Manufacturer should contact the DVSA / DfT and as usual persuade them they will deal with it as a Voluntary Recall contacting Keepers they have details from on their system. As usual that might or might not happen soon or later and as usual if Keepers / Drivers fail to hear the DVSA will just not bother.- MK2 Fabia VRS
@Churchyy What is the story with the car you are getting. What age, miles, how long has the owner had it and how many former keepers? ? Has the owner been a member on here? ? What does the past MOT history look like?- DSG advice request
Skoda UK obviously has some Call Handler / Communications Manager in that has no knowledge of Skoda Vehicles, DQ200 DSG's the past history of them or how they are at present. Obviously no knowledge of the Recalls in Australia or the TPI's in Europe. So that is par for the course. They are right as in that the car is out of the Manufacturers Warranty. No idea if Kate Laws is still the Senior Resolutions Manager but if so she seems to have selective memory. They maybe they clear their desks, computers and memories at the end of each shift and there is then nothing to see, nothing ever happened in the past with components premature failures.- vRS Engine Cover Recall
Skoda UK surely have someone that does IT and since they have a TPI then surely updating a VIN Checker for the public is 'Simply Clever'. (But then their IT with Configurators is a bit iffy.) It is good for owners that you posted. THEY CAN CHECK AND SEE IF THE SERVICE DESK STAFF ARE READING TPI's. Because VW Group / Skoda UK do not publish Recall Actions like in some countries. I understand Campaigns and Safety Related 'Recall Actions'. It is just not great where people not visiting a Dealership only hear via Social Media / Forums. That is where some get a Phone Call saying 'There is a Recall', but those not getting a phone call or visiting a dealership do not get a Letter.- MK2 Fabia VRS
Some say they should not be removed, make no difference, make the car unsafe etc. But then many have no idea if they are still fixed on and if modding the car, changing springs, fitting a ARB then why not get the Ballast off. Nobody has ever wanted to add extra weight to the rear left corner of their tuned Mk2 Fabia Monte Carlo. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/223019-removing-rear-weights-mk2-fabia-vrs-tsi-hatch-guide- vRS Engine Cover Recall
If you were not informed formally before the car went in is it not a Service Campaign / Recall Action where Keepers are not getting a letter informing there is a recall. Is your car showing up here as due a Recall Action? http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-recall- New tires needed.
@Inzabasically it is a no brainer if buying new tyres that you go for All Weathers (All Seasons as in all 4 seasons not Summers as VW seem to think as All Season.) There is no downsize for you even if this year is Scorchio all year and the temperature reaches 28*oC for all of 10 hours. The tyres will not melt and the car will not corner like it is on Jelly on 205/60 R 15 All Weathers.- MK2 Fabia VRS
@Churchyy If you just want to drive 60 mph NSL roads at maybe 70 or 80 mph and get around corners then a Stage 1 Remap will help and good tyres and springs and a rear ARB. You can do that with a standard car anyway. There are weights on the rear crash bar unless already removed, the standard brakes are so so and maybe better tyres will be a good move, but then maybe the tyres on it are fine. Try the car and see and if you just drive on public roads at NSL's the car will do just fine in the dry.- Winter roads, ice, snow and wet or dry driving in an EV..
If it can go 200 miles in winter (Around 0*oC) 2 up with the cabin at 18*oC and with winter tyres i would have one in a heartbeat. If it struggles to get 100 miles then not.- Eco mode question
@Routemaster1461Was that a 1.3 Diesel and manual or auto and was that using the D, N. A button if it had one and on 'A'. ?- Fabia monte carlo eibach springs
Maybe best that the OP posts what Monte Carlo they have, petrol or diesel and with petrol there were even 4 69 ps Monte Carlo registered in the UK. EDIT. Only 2 16v Monte Carlo were registered in the UK in 2011 and are still on the road. (We are assuming it is a hatch and not an estate.) Then best they post the numbers / code of the Eibach springs they actually have. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/353801-fabia-advice-two-tone-car - vRS Engine Cover Recall
