Winter roads, ice, snow and wet or dry driving in an EV..
-2*oC, not a breath of wind. car pre-heated, roads totally dry apart from black-ice in shaded bits. Heating @ 20*oC but A/C off, heated seat on and heated steering wheel on. Roof bars and bike rack off the roof, Michelin Alpin6's at 40 psi & after a few miles getting an indicated 3.1 miles / kWh. EDIT, temperature up above 10•oC and efficiency right up above 4 miles per kWh, and will be better later heading downhill more than up. Even empty the bars and bike carrier had been greatly reducing range, much more even than passengers carried.

Renault Megane e-Tech, Fully Charged Vid review.
If they were do do a 60kW Renault 5 i would be a very happy person. Some articles say 2024 but if out in 2023 then that would be great.

Renault Megane e-Tech, Fully Charged Vid review.
I really like the look of this. I think i could live with this even the steering wheel. Only issue is my left fingers on touch screens are just not that good.

What happens if you charge a car with a '7kw on board charger', from a domestic 13 amp supply?
It looks like MINI/ BMW are going to have the biggest MINI being quite nippy. https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/new-2023-mini-countryman-phev-be-firms-most-powerful-car All they really need to be doing is giving the range on electric with a cold battery when driving the vehicle at full revenue weight at 0*oC ambient temps and prospective buyers will be a bit better informed. Show the possible Minimums not Maximums.

Shocks
@wd20 I pressed the 'report' button so that a mod will see your post. You can do that yourself if you need help.

Fuel consumption (again?)
The Owner / Keeper was supposed to Sign to accept the Voluntary Recall Action being carried out and get their Peace of Mind Guarantee paperwork covering the vehicle for 2 years with T&C's. Some greedy sods at dealerships just went and did as many as they got away with doing and being paid for doing.

Fuel consumption (again?)
@Bilson When you see where the Oil Temp is showing the indicated temp, check how long until it gets to showing @ 50*oC then up to around 92*oC or over that.

the truth about electric cars
- Fuel consumption (again?)
@BisonAre you not looking at the Coolant Gauge that gets to a 90*oC indicated. EDIT. Is there no oil temp in the Maxidot? Please read about The Fix and some peoples experiences and increased fuel consumption. The Fix can be rolled back and a remap done and the flow device removed if there.- Should the brake fluid be replaced when a rear brake calliper is replaced by a Skoda dealer?
@Tony_Stachnicki. What engine does your car have and what did they charge for the DSG oil change back when that was done? How many miles has your car done?- 1.5 tsi Monte Carlo
No. It is a manual gearbox, your right foot is what chooses if you are driving economically, normally or sportingly.- Fuel consumption (again?)
You have to take into account with a TDI that fuel consumption can be good or look good then there is regens and fuel is wastefully used and the average consumption drops. @Bisonhow many miles has your car done and are you aware of how often it regens now?- 1.5 tsi Monte Carlo
Expect the replacement springs not to be covered if a warranty claim is made and even the dampers not to be covered. With Mk2 Fabia vRS the Eibach springs were an option you made when ordering and then they were fitted at the dealership at the PDI and then covered under the warranty, but then the warranty is just on manufacturing or material faults.- Fuel consumption (again?)
@BisonWelcome. Was your car one that was part of the Defeat Device Scandal and that might have been eligible & had 'The fix' carried out? So a Flow Device put in the air intake and revised engine management. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions- EV real world range and cost to charge
I charged at my local council charger for the first time since it went to 23 pence a kWh & it cost me £6.22. Another driver was telling me that more often than not his account is not debited for the charging he does. Yet another one was telling me he has had Parking Fines 3 times now because the charger had cut out and the Parking Warden counts that as parked in an electric car bay. He won 2 appeals nut not the third. It took less in than i got free yesterday which was arriving with a cold battery. I have decided if i had the money or the inclination to have a large EV it would be the BMW.- 1.5 DSG MPG horrific
@Ggsumohave you or anyone looked at the Air Filter to see the condition of that and if there is anything in the airbox that should not be there? A fresh clean air filter can do wonders if a clogged dirty one is currently installed.- New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
More chargers being installed at Broxden Park & Ride Charging Hub Perth. Including Rapid chargers which is great, so as long as they are kept properly maintained and promptly repaired if out of service & not sitting broken as one Rapid did for over a year.- Munro Mk1, Fully electric 4x4 designed and built in the UK.
Some of us will have known Ibex 4x4's or even have driven in them. http://munro-ev.com- What happens if you charge a car with a '7kw on board charger', from a domestic 13 amp supply?
There is a 'Massive Taiwan blackout leaving many without power'. following an accident at a power station. In the UK/ Europe / EU there might well be outages coming and maybe even petrol & diesel rationing might be required so non essential workers / driver might be those getting fuel first. It is good that the NHS, Social Work and various local authorities and utility companies have hybrids and EV's that can be getting charged at cheap / off peak charging or just when electricity is available and this can keep essential workers moblie. Also Doctors and nurses with e-Bikes to get out and about locally to patients. https://alloaadvertiser.com/news/18112747.eco-friendly-gps-bring-e-bikes-house-calls Large Scale Battery Storage locally for electricity from renewables produced locally is going to be necessary going into the future and more storage using vehicles battery capacities. Energy produced locally stored and used locally from windfarms, solar farms, bio mass generation etc as well as power going to the national grid. There is still lots of renewable electricity generated or that can be generated rather than companies being paid to stop generating it in parts of the UK that does not go to the National Grid or that is not getting used to produce hydrogen or being stored.- What kWh does an Enyaq charging on AC 43 kW chargers get, & why use one when there are plenty 22 kW chargers available?
At this Charging Hub and other similar ones that are still free to charge it is happening because using Rapid Chargers is costing them nothing rather than using just fast ones and the rapids do not have a £1 a minute overstay charge after 45 or 70 minutes as it is in some Council Areas in Scotland. The Slow / Fast chargers allow a lot longer time on the chargers at a lower cost when you do have to pay. Lots of EV driving people are like ICE driving people, they know little about the vehicle they drive and could not care less as long as they get about and are doing their own thing. Many will not check tyre pressures unless there is a warning, or top up screen wash or check anything between services or MOT's. It is going to be an issue really as EV ownership increases and there is not the best of charging infrastucture that people do not bother to find out or care about not making things more awkward for others when a little consideration for others can make a big difference. More chargers for Perth's Park & Ride which is still free to charge at and abused by EV's or Hybrids that park for hours on the Rapids not of all which work all the time. .......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................- What happens if you charge a car with a '7kw on board charger', from a domestic 13 amp supply?
If you are in a town and popping to the shops then 15 minutes on the charger charging free without even checking in on an app might be all the time needed to put in the energy you used getting there and going home with you shopping, or you might spend 30 minutes. EV's and hybrids can be lifestyle changers or maybe just suit your life work balance. Lots of people with a Motability Car are now driving Plug in Hybrids or EV's, so less than £10 a day for a car under 3 years old, no extra costs and maybe not even paying for Fuel or Electric. There are thousands of Motability cars on UK roads as they are the biggest group buyer / owner. (in the region of 650,000 cars owned by them at any one time. 200,000 cars a year bought then sold at 3 or sometimes 5 year old) Hybrid drivers on a journey tend not to be sitting charging to get the good fuel economy, but then there are people with lots of time on their hands that might well do like Robert Llewellyn. It is good to have the choice to charge free at places so travel free if you have a vehicle and do short stints between charging. I know someone with an old Nissan Leaf and he is skint and he hops about 50 miles between chargers and sleeps in the car and cycles while the car charges. It takes him a few days to get from home to Glasgow and back and when he went to London he was 10 days there and back but used only free chargers. All the time in the world, no job, little money and the UK is his oyster.- What happens if you charge a car with a '7kw on board charger', from a domestic 13 amp supply?
Maybe check the tyre pressures to see if they are over inflated to give better range rather than safety with grip / traction and not feeling skittery. Even at a sensible pressure if it is the Michelin Primacy 4's that are fitted they are just horrible tyres IME that get fitted to Hybrids & EV's and really are just summer tyres.- Ken block
White makes total sense for taking to the mountains in the snow. - Fuel consumption (again?)
