1.5 DSG MPG horrific
@J.R. The MPG while sitting stationary when it gets down to 11 mpg which many do & is clearly wrong. You can not be getting only 11 mpg. You are not moving so doing 0 MPG, or miles / km per litre or cup full of fuel. No moving so no mileage.

"check oil level" warning
@Jamesmaher63 Here you are. You never came back to your thread. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/497359-oil-consumption-15-tsi. It seems that not only do many not check before driving away they do not see where the oil or coolant is after getting home or top up washer fluid if not done before hand over. Or check anytime after until they get a warning message. If any level is not as it should be on collection or tyre pressures unsafe then the establishments boss is the one that needs spoken to.

Anti Skid Tyre Bocks
The vehicle and the wheels fitted will always back a difference as to how much of a faf the same as with Snow Chains / grips, snow socks. The widest of tyres on wider / bigger wheels might be the ones most needing them fitted to get moving so long arms are needed to get the strap around the tyre and through the wheel.

Kodiaq Service
Goodwill gestures these days are few and far between. Read the VAQ diff failure thread. Car full main dealer service history. The issue is Service Desk staff or work shop not telling the customer that service items are due. Not a surprise really that non technical desk staff are not well trained on what schedules are. A SVQ on keyboard or telecoms is not much help on car servicing if the persons training is poor at a dealership.

Shame about the engines/gearbox
VW cocked up boxes in Up!MiiCitigo manual and ASG,s. But that is really the problem you can get with VW group. Just as well the Electric ones are so nice with 2 pedals. Just a pity they discontinued the Citigo iV in the UK. They messed up charging with them though just to take the guild off lily.

Shame about the engines/gearbox
Usually those that are not regular DSG drivers are the ones that find issues about which gear they are in or not. Decelerating then if you want Just stick back from D to S and off the accelerator has it down 2 gears. That is for corners, junctions etc, winter roads and no brakes used. Real world in UK you are on 60 mph max limit roads or 70 mph A DSG is an automated manual and you just use manual down and up shifts if you want. Use the gearshifter if you think there is a delay with paddles. Mild plug in hybrids and EV,s are now able to know when corners and junctions are coming up as Bentley's have had for a good few years now. Cylinder deactivation etc all part of what is available with cameras, radar and GPS on vehicles. Ps,. Petrol or diesels from 70ps to 245 and 1.0-2.0 then 7 speed dry or 6/7 speed wet DSG,s over the past 12 years or more can not all be summed up as behaving the same. Now with mild and plug ins the DSG,s are different again.

"check oil level" warning
@pragmatix When i do i tell them to go adjust the pressures & if the car has had a PDI the Master Tech can go over the car again. I will wait on them doing that. Then the Email is copied to the Dealer Principal, & the John Clark Directors. That worked and especially with Aberdeen but things must be slipping again.

1.5 DSG MPG horrific
An EV is worth considering. (Especially for a business user but even for private buyers / drivers.) If able to charge a BEV at home or work or free then very much so, and paying 25 pence a kWh and getting 3 miles to the kWh that is 30 miles driven costing £2.50 Even at Public Chargers @ 50 pence a kWh you are @£5. if 3.5-4 miles a kWh is achieved then that is still pretty cheap travelling when away from home.

Anti Skid Tyre Bocks
No. Best just get them and try them. Maybe worth the PITA of getting down and fitting and then taking them off dirty and cleaning later. Saves having more suitable tyres fitted for the odd occasion when you have to tow across grass or that you need towed in or out of sites / fields,

1.5 DSG MPG horrific
@Ggsumo 60,000 miles in 4 years with an average 35 mpg @ petrol at £7 a gallon is under £12,000 Are you getting much under 25 miles from a gallon at the worst of the economy you actually get? . So your figure is on the average of 30 mpg & it is £14,000. *I take it where you drive that winter temperatures are less than 2 years out of 4 years.* Best borrow or hire a hybrid for a few days then before committing to changing. That would be a bit smaller than a Kodiaq i assume which might be good for 20-25 miles of running on electric when charged but not really that great on fuel consumption once you have gone beyond the energy that you put in the car. Fine if you have low tariff offpeak home electric to charge with or workplace but if you are paying 20 pence a kWh or more to charge then 13 kWh is costing you £2.60 to get that 25 miles or so and the price of electric is going up in April and then again later in the year. So is Fossil Fuels though. (If a VW Group Plug in hybrid or some others that will be needing the ICE engines on fixed service regime oil & filter changes.)

What happens if you charge a car with a '7kw on board charger', from a domestic 13 amp supply?
VW did it very well with the Golf GTE and the developments were looking great, and they managed to still cheat emissions for a while with the 1.4 TSI and then finally get figures to suit the WLTP / RDE figures needed. They were doing so well with it all then took Software inhouse and have managed to get them selves in a right mess. So much so that Porsche will be getting floated on the market.

Confused. 'D' and 'B' drive on iV
In theory yes. In practice like me with an EV and hardly ever touching the brake pedal other than to come to a dead stop the brake discs are a rusty red mess and will need replacing soon as will the hardly ever used brake pads. MY Stellantis Group crap discs. VW Group / Skoda are doing something right with Drum Brakes on the rear of EV's. The e-Brake can not be pulled on to clean the rears and if just trying to run with the brakes on to clean them they are that good the car just stops even on a long steep hill. No chance of giving it some accelerator and touching the brake pedal as i have only 1 foot and as it is the power is cut anyway with accelerator and brake. So some fast driving and hard braking time and time again is the only way to clear the rust.

One 12V battery right of top picture. Car will not switch on without it, Lights, horn, radio, door locks, heated seats, heated steering wheel, mirrors, rear screen, phone charging and whatever else. Plenty VW Group EV's were having flat battery problems and that meant no getting in, starting the car. New batteries and software updates required. Ridiculous what happened with this Enyaq on low battery power. No matter powerpack or battery. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/501382-enyaq-warnings-and-information-unavailable-drive-carefully

Lift kit for Fabia mk1
@maccy Really not required because the standard air intake is well above any water it would be wading in.

Our BEV's all have a battery. Never needed to jump start it though. I just open the bonnet to top up the windscreen wash. Or to take a photo or 3.

Enyaq vs Tesla Model Y
Looks like they will stay on a par into the future as the fossil fuel prices are going to be rising rather quickly now and so is the electricity at public chargers from renewables or fossil fuel powered generation.

remap
@GrisnardoWelcome to the forum. Do you have your 1.5 TSI Remapped? There have been plenty members wanting to have theirs done in the past years but nobody appears to have posted they have had theirs done. REVO remaps can be good but then with the 1.4 TSI / TFSI Twinchargers theirs was absolute rubbish but they never wanted to admit to that. The Engines could have issues and the original engine management but others like APR did a good job with Stage 1 & 2 maps.

I am seeing quite a few Jeep Renegade 4xe Hybrids and Kuga Hybrids charging and in the past weeks some brand new Seat Leon e-Hybrids. All have been getting plugged in or unplugged by ladies, none by laddies.

"check oil level" warning
@kodiaqsportline I really wonder what you trained as and work at that you are so trusting of people doing things as they should be and check things, just nosy. Too many get on the job training and that means they might learn from those that were badly trained. I used to work where i checked cars off transporters & ones being bought & sold and going on to dealers , where cars were prepped, i did paint repairs / warranty work and fitted dealer fit options. Of course i check the oil level cold when collecting demonstrators, new cars, hire car, courtesy cars, cars from auctions and cars i take to do work on, and tyre pressures. If i am using the car a bit i check it when at operating temperature. Which is why i am not surprised at those that think a car drinks oil. Why i said to the member to be sure about checking oil when getting a car at Dundee or Perth.

Kodiaq Service
https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/all-in-service-plan There are about 5 threads on this forum about this. @DannylachampDoes that plan have All Servicing coverage then. Pollen Filter @ 2 years & 4 years. Brake Fluid @ 3 Years & 5 years. Haldex Serviced @ 3 years. AC Servicing. DSG Service @ 40,000 miles. This is just an idea of what Skoda UK shows as the servicing from year 3 on. The DSG is not at 4 years it is @ 40,000 miles.

Kodiaq Service
You get Independent VW Specialists with All the gear and more than ideas. Licensed Equipment that get the TPI, Recalls / Service Campaigns and that can even do warranty work and update the system with service / maintenance work done and not just Inspection service / extended scope yet Haldex, brakes or DSG never touched and done when they should be. Likely these independents have Ex Main Dealership Techs / Master Techs that were fed up doing the little work a Main Dealer Service actually involves. So a good Full Service History with receipts and Invoices for stuff actually done is better than a FMDSH that just shows that there was servicing. That is for people wanting a well looked after car. WBAC/ Cazoo etc might just want FMDSH which does not mean they were serviced to the manufacturer's recommendations or guidelines.
