  1. This is February & maybe not the most dry or salt free time of the year. But dry bare metal and etch primer or rust inhibitor and job done before covering it up is easy enough.
  2. If the Recall action / Service Campaign or Skoda Secret Service Campaign concerns someones vehicle it should be here. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions @revnethdoes yours come up here with you VIN number?
  3. The warranty is only for holed panels anyway and if you have not and not going to have that then no issues. I am just pointing out if underseal is missing where it never happened because of someone being careless then show the area to an Approved Repairer and have Skoda pay to get he area covered up. Or you just DIY and know it is done and if any issue then Skoda / VW will have someone not blind spot there was repairs / treatments done.
  4. You would hope so. They know exactly, it is VW Group software and hardware. You might find threads in any Skoda Models forum. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/493505-brand-new-scala-emergency-call-fault
  5. Yes there is. Just look closely. The level might even drop a bit more from MAX. This is OK and why the markings are MIN & MAX and not FILL TO THIS LINE.
  6. Best remember that if applying your own Rust Inhibitors or Underseal that you make sure there is no rust / corrosion and the correct treatment is done. (Then keep an eye on that area into the future. This is why some use Rust Inhibitor then Clear Waxoyl.) You will invalidate the Corrosion Warranty for that area and any near it. Repair not to Factory Spec by an Authorised repairer. Not that Skoda Main Dealers do the Body Inspections to keep the Corrosion Warranty Valid and the T&C's of the Warranty does not require Annual or Bi-annual checks. Skoda UK do whoever knock back Warranty Claims because no Body Inspections were carried out. They know who it is not doing them though. SKODA_Warranty_Terms_November_2021 (1).pdf
  7. It is amazing how screen wash that is not produced using the Tears of an angel will spray from fan nozzles and does not invalidate a VW Group Manufacturers Warranty.
  8. They know to behave. Hyundai / Kia are a big manufacturer in Europe and Globally and know not to cheat or be caught cheating. Especially by South Korea. No surprises with the German Owned Companies & the EU and the WLTP or the tests before as they were on 'a model' without options on a rolling road or dyno and fiction anyway as the tyres could be over inflated. Then VW Group brands SEAT, AUDI or VW were doing their own testing and there might well have been diesel in the engine oil of TDI's. RDE & RDE2 have caught then out so they had to mess with the Engine Management of 1.5 TSI's and the DSG's to get WLTP figures and have had to mess about since to make the vehicles drivable and meet the Original Test results or not as the case is for some with early WLTP Certificated cars. Hyundai / KIA know that cheating or inaccurate fuel consumption figures can really cost them as Hyundai - KIA found out in North America and Canada years back. They ended up after a court bent them over having to give owners Fuel Cards. VW Group get a kicking in the US for being cheats but the EU says on you go we will give you a new test regime that you can find grey areas with and if we catch you with Implausible C02 emissions then that is just a snagging issue.
  9. @brettikivi I do so wish that others would sit the wheel with tyre on a bathroom scale or any scale that is good for at least 23 kg so that they do know the difference from ones they are changing. (as well as putting a tape measure around the tyre.) Same with Spare Wheels & tool kits etc.
  10. 3.6 kW was what was needed to top back up to where i was yesterday and having driven 3 miles. 35 minutes on the 7 kW charger as charge confirmed after plugging in and getting back into car. (Driven 1 mile since charging to 99%)
  11. @Q102 Did you actually run a tape measure around the different tyre to be sure the Total Circumference is identical and the mileometer is reading the same for the different tyres? (Rather than going by a tyre calculator.)
  12. Estimates is totally nail on the head. Sales executives can be as much treated like 🍄 as customers. In the dark and shovelled sh!the. Or some are just the keeper of the shovel..
  13. Ford is a global corporation. Skoda is just part of the VW Group and really low in any priority with VW group after Porsche, Audi, VW and maybe even Bentley before you get to SEAT / Cupra and eventually Skoda.
  14. You could have Skoda Assist arrange a car that suits your needs delivered to you tomorrow so that you are not more out of pocket. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/500371-4-weeks-old-car-and-gearbox-fault
  15. @Defenderben He has changed to this one.
  16. @Legion The issue with 'In theory' is that you are better going by fact. You need to know what you actually are buying. In the UK the 95 ron E5 might have as much as 5% bio in it up til last year, and then it had to be E10 with as much as 10% bio in. Neither amount had to be in, it was how much could be added. Then the E5 Super Unleaded 97/99 ron min in the UK can have Up to 5% Bio / Ethanol in it. There are some brands with Zero Bio / Ethanol in in some areas of the UK. eg ESSO Synergy 99. Maybe even Tesco Momentum 99 at different times & places.
  17. @lol-lolit requires 5 kW a day each day while the weather is at a temp below 10*oC or so regardless of if the car has 10% 20% etc showing in the battery. It was just easier to check with a full battery and compare with a year or so ago when i noticed how much electric was required. Really it does not lose / use more energy because the battery is fuller. What i am comparing is the maybe 6 trips i do most days that sometimes would be on a bike or years ago i did in a Kia Picanto that could manage 42MPG with the same usage. 0.7 miles mostly down hill or flat going and 0.7 miles back on the flat & uphill. Only difference ever is ambient temp, rain, snow, wind etc. SITTING ON A 7KW Charger and getting 6.6 kW in the car is the same if the car is locked and no one in or if the Heater is up to 28*oC and the radio on and a phone plugged in and charging. Same going in, 6.6kW for the cars battery. I have tried to see more than a few times. ........................................ Out of town and different speeds is a whole different kettle or renewable electricity use.
  18. Fantastic if the only difference before and after is the change of coolant.
  19. @lol-lol The figure now with cold nights is as i had seen in the past. So 5kW required to recharge for having driven less than 5 miles over a 24 hour period with the car parked about 23 1/4 hours of that, some of that on a charger. 50 minutes to recharge on a 7kW AC charger. If @ Home Charging at 21 pence a kWh we are talking £1.05. (Lots better obviously with a lower tariff...) So a bit cheaper than a Petrol of Diesel doing 6 cold start journeys under 1 mile. 7 days and 36 miles covered would maybe be around £7. If using petrol and getting 36 mpg with a petrol doing these cold start short journeys maybe £6.60.
  20. There is an article in the Farmers Weekly. A young farmer ordered 2 new Defenders. The dealership canceled the orders because they say the farmer is connected to the motor trade and an agreement with Land Rover means that they can not supply them. The reason being they believe they are being bought to resell within 6 months for a profit. The family connection to The Motor Trade is one that might be questionable. Plenty Vloggers that might be Farmers are also Car collectors and even Dealers and might even have Trade Plates they use. EDIT. Correction after rereading the article. 21. @Legion. What is it that E10 should only be 3% worse than? Do you mean worse than E5 95 Ron or E5 super unleaded in anything from 97-102 octane?
  22. If seriously doubt the coolant was causing more fuel use in the city. But really you would need to say how many km you drive after a cold start. Was it 10 km before the engines coolant and oil was at an efficient operating temp or 20 km? This is like Groundhog Day. Good if all is finally sorted.
  23. @szking If you get a puncture the TPMS will give a warning. So put on the tyre / wheel which is an emergency spare and reset the TPMS just as you do if you adjust tyre pressures, fit new tyres or refit the punctured one. That should be it logged to not give a warning, if it does try again. It is the Skoda standard spare tyre size and what is supplied to fit and you to be able to use without a warning. Just the one the Dealer got you is the wrong one.
  24. OK. About 13*oC higher than in Death Valley USA. Maybe we lost something in translation.
