Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
@J.R. If it is a Euro5 2.0TDI then it is rather different from a Euro5 or 6 TSI. There is no EPC that i remember and as for the Yellow or Red Oil can llights they do not come up on the Pre Flight check. Then on MK'2's and maybe mk3's or some of them you get a Low Oil or Low Oil Pressure light as well as a Message on the Maxidot.

Correct oil for my Superb?
It is not using the best Long Life oil, just expensive long life oil & to the spec to get the WLTP / RDE results VW group needed. VW507 00 or VW509 00 are Long Life Oils and used even if on Fixed Services. That is because it has a DPF. Best have a 13 Month MOT done before 3 years old and get any Warranty Work done while there is the manufacturers

Correct oil for my Superb?
? Is the Service Indicator reset and the Service on the Skoda System? The Labour is very reasonable. Only an Oil & oil Filter service though. Not a Oil & Inspection Service. If the car is 2 years old 'MOT Due 22/10/ 2022, then the Pollen Filter needs looked at if not done , area cleaned, vacuum filter or replace. ................................ Blue Chart is 3-10 Fixed Regime Servicing.

Correct oil for my Superb?
PS That is a crazy price per Unit / Litre of Oil. Pure rip off even for VW509 00. The Engine Flush. The Fuel Treatment. Rip off. Why did you pay that and have them top up the AdBlue. Crazy price. Who was this Arnold Clark, Park or West End? The only thing not over priced is the Screen wash. Did they really add screen wash and only charge £1 plus VAT? Usually they charge for Fan Wash made from the tears of virgins.

Correct oil for my Superb?
The oil the car left the factory with is VW 508 00 / 509 00 so 0w 20 FS IV. They all did pre WLTP for the sake of getting the WLTP Certification. That is the VW / Skoda recommended oil for your TDI. VW509 00, 0w 20 FS IV. ........................... Before the VW Group / Skoda went to 0w 20 FS IV the TDI's were using VW504 00 /507 00. so 5w 30 FS III. So there are dealers or garages that still will use VW507 00 for a TDI. Some will use 5w 30 FS III Some 0w 30 FS III It is not the oil your car left the factory using or the VW Recommended oil thoigh.

Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
Then there is also what people call 'The engine light' as in the engine light came on. The one that is the shape of an engine. Pic from my Mk2 Fabia. Top is the Light Check at start up. The bottom is engine light staying on 'Exhaust Emissions', There was a fault. With Misfires or the Water pump / Super charger magnetic clutch one or other of both the EPC & the Engine Light might come on.

The story of the famous DQ200 clutch slip...
Just a small point. There are no 6 speed DQ200's. The DQ200 are 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG's. 2009-2021.

Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
? Were the spark plugs replaced at the Service or previous to that one? ......................................................................... Plenty owners of Mk3 Fabia with DSG's, Have any members here with a DQ200 DSG in a Fabia had an Oil Change carried out on their cars? ...................................................... This is a whole different issue. Here the member did their own oil change. Both Oils. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/439395-the-story-of-the-famous-dq200-clutch-slip/page/15

Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
I would be wanting to know if there was some fault or reason that they did something not required on a DQ200 7 speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG. No harm doing it, but then no reason to do it either. Skoda service says it should be carried out on 6 or 7 speed wet Clutch DSG's @ 40,000 miles, but not clearly on that Blue Service Guide. So not on 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG's which have never had a Schedule or guidelines for changing either of the 2 oils, other than when there was a World Wide recall in 2012 which excluded Europe, but then there was a Service Campaign in 2014 to change the oil from Synthetic to mineral and do a software update on some from 2009-2012. So no Oil Change requirements since then. You would expect Skoda Main Dealer Technicians to know that.

V2G / V2L / V2X for VW MEB platform (including Enaq)
@GaSelle Commenting where VW Group have millions of Euro spent on people spinning what they will do in the future. If they take as long to do things as they have to produce the ID. Buzz the world can wait a while.

Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
Was the DSG Service done under the Service Plan so at no extra cost to you? ? Where the Spark Plugs replaced at that service as part of the Service Plan? This below does not apply to the DQ200 DSG @ 40,000 miles / 4 years as far as an Oil change. Deal with the Dealer Principal only not the Service Manager or Workshop Manager and ask why they serviced your DSG.

I would get that refunded. Did they take £215? They were taking the pith. That can pay for them sorting out this issue.

Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
@Mikerp How much did someone rip you off to service a DQ200 DSG with no Service Schedule / Guidelines for oil changes so no need to service?

Octavia iV Estate - flat 12v battery
2 days only is not the terms of your Manufacturers Warranty. So the stuff that comes out of some of SkodaUK CS, Dealership Staff's mouths or AA employees is just rubbish. Never get landed with a duff car over the festive period. No Dealership staff, or Skoda employees would. As to gunk. If you need to use it, just get the tyre fitter to take the tyre off the rim and let you go away with it for half an hour and you clean off the gunk. If the tyre is a repairable one the gunk never stopped it from being repaired, it is just the fitters or fitting centre policy that they will not clean them. (For a £10 note in the hipper it is amazing how the policy can change some places.)

Delivery times?
@Jugaroo You might hope or expect a new car and a not repaired one, but that is not how it is very often. Worse is when one is damaged after it arrives at a Dealership and repairs are carried out and no record kept & someone has a paint claim and they are told the car has not a factory paint thickness. .................. Occasionally cars arrive in the UK off a ship and go MIA for a period of time. the clue comes when the In-transit mode was reset and then arrives at the dealers and gets re-set again. When the ECU is investigated the miles covered since manufacture can be seen. They are off to be 'Retested' to see that they meet the WLTP. More often these are VW Group vehicles because they are proven to be the type that will stretch the truth.

Lacquer peel
@Quinny1 Have you had your car since new so know that it is the factory finish? If you have then not much wrong with the lacquer that was applied over 10 years ago until now. Very very likely the hand washers have caused it with whatever product they use? Some cleaner meant for other industrial use and too strong a concentrate mix. Likely a product for brake dust removal on trains or machinery. A 2 1/2 year old Skoda. Not common. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/447732-paint-clear-coat-peeling-or-flaking-off

Enyaq v Kia EV6 test
We can hope and dream. Now that the current boss is moving onward and upward & in comes the current Skoda boss it might be long enough. It will not stop them talking it up and ignoring present problems with the systems.

England EV Charging points, a proposal. & location & news on new charging hubs in England & Wales.
Those staff / handling calls out of the old Michelin Factory in Dundee might stay,. and the AA call centre answering calls when they are not. Maintenance Staff might stay. The SWARCO Management / directors might be off and the IT lot. the ones that are clearly incompetent and have all the excuses under the sun, heid yins on the big money. Now since September i tell them weekly the Phone App has 2 chargers showing local to me in the wrong position and seeing as they have staff at them occasionally can they really not use GPS as well as the SIM in the charger to get them in the right place. Public Money just thrown the way of some that are not held to account and in the end can swan off with their boots filled. https://www.erticonetwork.com/swarco-to-operate-scotland-ev-charging-network/ I will send an Email yet again seeing as Broughty Ferry is 2 miles from them and 17 miles away from me, not 2 miles from me. They might also move the one nearest to me on the map from the wrong position it shows and same users getting directed to totally the wrong place.

Redex Motor oil
@edbostanHow often are you doing or having oil changes as you have a few threads on the subject. Not to save money but to love your engine would you not just well be using VW502 00 rather than VW Groups recommended Long Life oils. (VW's record of long lived Euro 5 TSI's is not great.) Time will tell how those that get VW508 00 since 2018 will get on as the years roll on and maybe cars roll on with engines replaced. ..................... Plenty of the Oils meet and exceed the VW approved VW504 00 507 00. Castrol Long Life as recommended by VW Group is nothing special anyway. German Engines are some of the worst for early death of engines out of warranty. Note that French, South Korean, Japanese, Chinese etccar manufacturers might have other Recommended Oil Manufacturers other than Castrol. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/413293-best-oil-not-5w-30 I got handed my ass here by a knowledgable member. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/479648-tesco-engine-oil-brgains

England EV Charging points, a proposal. & location & news on new charging hubs in England & Wales.
I expect Osprey will be trying / tendering to take over the running of Charge Place Scotland when the contract SWARCO has expires. SWARCO's incompetence is unreal. They have all the excuses under the sun and seem to be able to spin how well they are doing. There are options between Transport Scotland & SWARCO on extensions of the contract. Surely by the time that comes things have got better on the CPS network or SWARCO are out on their ear. Only issue will be that by then the whole of the network will be e-Volt units and SWARCO / e-Volt have raked in millions anyway from the tax payers of Scotland / UK.

Enyaq v Kia EV6 test
@snalbansed Thanks, so i will not be able to charge my bike if i run out of juice unless there is a friendly / generous driver with the car. It will be dead handy once VW Group this on their EV's. The driver can then plug in a battery charger to top up the 12v battery when flat.

Enyaq v Kia EV6 test
@snalbansed the comment on the 3 pin plug was about keeping the environment out of the socket, not really toddlers little fingers or such. Open charge ports in climatic conditions. As to UK sockets, They were necessary at the hotel the other week. They stopped my Granddaughter plugging in her phone charger, the waiter said they needed passed and were sick of guests having wires trailing. If I turned up at a Charge Place Scotland free charger that was blocked by a fully charged EV with a 3 pin socket I might have tried plugging my 3 pin charger into that car. Pity the Merc that was blocking a charger last night had not one. It had been on the charger 4 hours. I did get on a 7kW charger luckily to get enough charge to get me home
