  1. VW / Skoda have managed to have BEV's lumbered with Flat batteries. https://briskoda.net/forums/topic/499985-dead-12v-battery Vorsprung Durch Technik = Let the paying public do more R&D and be inconvenienced rather than sort things before launch.
  2. If you accelerate up to 40 mph the turbo is working if not a faulty accuator.
  3. Sitting with the engine running and in N is the obvious time to have the Parking /e-brake applied if your foot is not on the brake pedal. You might do that so that the brake lights are NOT on if you have a model that applies the brake lights when 'Auto hold' is activated. I do wish more people might do that when sitting stopped for a while in gridlock traffic in Fog, Snow Rain, drizzle when vehicles behind. Maybe at traffic works and while waiting for a convoy system.
  4. I think with your 1.0 TSI your turbo operates every time you drive the car unless you are never taking it above 20 mph and just bimbling along. ?
  5. If i have heavy non living stuff on seat i have the seat belts plugged in but if able to i put the plugged in seat belts around the heavy stuff. It might just keep it where it is of there was an accident / heavy braking.
  6. A good looking car in this colour scheme IMO. Inoffensive and has the cloak of Invisibility.
  7. I can not figure out the crazy new one near Edinburgh airport from leaving the airport and passing the Travelodge heading to Newbridge / Glasgow or North. Not been able to see yet what the signs say. EDIT.. Covid19 Emergency measures. https://www.radcc.org/tag/emergency-bus-lane-a8/ 'Temporary' A8 westbound. https://edinburgh.gov.uk/news/article/13141/significant-progress-made-on-temporary-bus-priority-measures-across-south-east-scotland
  8. Press cars maybe used like Fleet / Lease drivers might use them. As some might charge.
  9. They really must be very efficient. Where has it gone so wrong with EV's since then? If Ioniq drivers were just doing rapid charging to 80% to have Rapid / Quick charge sessions then that would be 20 kWh only of a 28 kWh usable battery. If the car did do 5.5 miles per kWh then that would be a 110 mile range, if the were charging and having 25 kWh of use then 137.5. Lovely stuff. A very efficient car. If as efficient with maybe 4 adults or in cold weather then fantastic. ...................... an Ioniq 30 kWh is 1,498 kg, 4,470 mm long, 1,450 mm high, & a 2,700 mm Wheel Base. a Corsa-e 50 kWh, 1,530 kg, 4,060 mm long, 1,433 mm high & a 2,538 mm Wheel Base. Yesterday my Corsa-e did a 40 mile run at 0*oC, 18 miles up into the Angus Glens and back home with just me in the car and the average speed was 33.7 mph going and that was getting 2.7 miles per kWh. The return was 22 miles more downhill with more regening was an average 31.5 mph and i got 3.1 miles per kWh. Amazing stuff with the Ioniq.
  10. They are all Fixed Service Interval so 372 days / 9,400 miles so regardless of miles you can choice to do an oil service & servicing or not if the last record is over 12 months ago.
  11. Might be of interest to some. Maybe he had a brain fart. 28 kWh battery getting only 1.5 miles a kWh would be 42 miles EDIT, it was my cloth ears. He means you are getting 1-1.5 mile more per kWh out of that than any other EV. Maybe true.
  12. A grey day.
  13. Getting the @ 3 years and only 13,000 miles and saying an oil change was a big error on anyone at a service desk. It is not that confusing really that the Skoda petrol or diesel DSG cars from 2009 with 150 ps max and 250 Nm or less and FWD are all DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG's. (Citigo were ASG's so different!)
  14. @chicken93 Just remember that the Full Warranty has T&C's and exclusions. The Warranty is not with the Branch they are Approved Repairers, not the Manufacturers Warranty provider / underwriter. If there is a fault with the back window it should be covered, but remember there is stuff that is not covered. SKODA_Warranty_Terms_November_2021 (1).pdf
  15. ? Do you use the Washer Fluid much then in a week & how much do you put in when you do fill it? You must know if it holds next to nothing if you fill it. Your old one would have been filled at each service as well as you filling it. You must have not used it much back then on maybe not had much of a scoosh going on. If you want stuff checked under warranty somethings are only covered for 6 months / 6,500 miles so putting off raising with a Approved Repairer / Dealership is not a good idea.
  16. @SurreyJohn? Is this on a Government press release? The Media were all saying a £1,000 cut to a £1,500 grant. EDIT. Max grant £1,500 £32,000 unless a WAV & then £35,000. https://www.gov.uk/plug-in-car-van-grants Makes total sense to stop encouraging the absolute rip off price being charged for EV versions of vehicles compared to the ICE versions, and then a Family / Business sized EV car can easily be £32,000 and perfectly comfortable and well built and retail for £32,000 in the UK. As can light commercial EV's.
  17. So what age of Yeti, how many miles done, has the AC been serviced. Has the pollen filter been changed. ? Has the anti freeze / summer coolant ever been tested or changed? What is the ambient temperature and what is the temperature being requested in the car? Have you had the car long and last time it was cold did the heater heat the car.
  18. So you might have the V5 and are the registered keeper and bought it but with others money. They own it actually until the finance is paid. @SurreyJohn So important is was it Engine OIl or DSG oil that was leaking. Is the times quoted because of a lack of DSG's or DSG & MCU, back orders etc. Surely not as Skoda CZ have been turning out such a low number of TDI's in this last year because of the ongoing issues. Skoda / VW know if a box and MCU and ECU if required is sitting someplace ready to ship to the UK. Even given Brexit or Covid it is a Gearbox in a crate that is getting delivered from the Skoda Factory or a German one to the UK and not a vehicle and they can get that in in under a week if they bother to do that. The Skoda Factory is closed until the 10th January though, but even so if there is a built DSG sitting then it would be 'Simply Clever' to get it dispatched to arrive in the UK before the end of January.
  19. With a new car if not already done. I would go check the Oil Level now as the car was handed over and see where it is cold without the engine started. Then check again after a trip where the engine was up to operating temp and stopped on the flat, then check after a few minutes. That is 4 or 5 minutes as the Owners Manual just says 'a few' that is not 15 or 20 minutes. It is maybe while the car is stopped getting fuel. (Knowing where it is cold means a check before a trip lets you know there is enough oil.) The owners manual tells you about maybe using more oil in the first 5,000 km. so do not wait for Low Oil or low oil pressure lights or messages. **If you get one and open the bonnet and do nothing, not even check the oil level or top up the Low oil light goes off for maybe 100 km / 62 miles. the oil is still low.** Check the Coolant level cold as it is now after 2 days from hand over. Check again maybe in a week when cold if you are using the car and compare. Check the Tyre Pressures, are they at a sensible pressure. Reset the TPMS. If they are over inflated, the oil or coolant is low or any other signs that the PDI was slap dash have the Dealer Principal have the Master Tech redo the PDI next week. Mention the no Warranty Booklet & the need for them to ensure better PDI's and Hand overs and their need to supervise training of staff.
  20. Happy Christmas. ? Did the cabin reach the temperature you requested? If faulty maybe someone can help. Personally i do not measure the heat coming from each vents or outlets if i have AC / Auto / Climate Control on in a vehicle as i want the temp in the cabin or the zone of the cabin once the system gets the opportunity to bring the air in the cabin up to that temperature or when wanting a cooler interior down to that temperature.
  21. Enjoy the new car. & Happy Christmas. It is a shame that car Sales People who's job is selling cars can not get the hand over procedures as they should be and explaining the warranty is a part of that. Sadly many have no idea about the Manufacturers warranty, T&C's Exclusions etc. If you want a hard copy ask for one. They are important. Dealership staff will often wrongly tell customers about what or what is not covered. They get that info often from another member of staff that have never read a Warranty Booklet. https://skoda.co.uk/owners/warranty SKODA_Warranty_Terms_November_2021.pdf
  22. I remember as well but it was a fire lit or the tubes type greenhouse electric heaters used in the North East of Scotland. To have the oil and diesel liquid.
  23. @RichardLP Are you able to rock up to a PodPoint 7kw charger plug in your own type 2 and get a charge at 6.6-7.2 kWh?
  24. @KenONeill As it should be when you are charged for a bottle of washer fluid & charged VAT. The member that posted the other day that they were charged for the fluid but put the car in full should have asked for 2 bottles from them for trying it on and taking the cost of something not supplied and charging 20% VAT as well which they pocket. I have just picked up something in the past and said i will take this thanks unless you want to refund me double like Tesco do when they wrongly charge you. It is taking money by false pretences. There are those that do it by mistake but there are others that do it on a regular basis.
