  1. @cheezemonkhai In that EV with 320 mile range how far more are you getting if you jump on a 150 kW charger for 18 minutes having gone 310 miles, or even on a 350kW charger? How long on a 150kW one before you are back to having another 320 miles range?
  2. With a 208 / Corsa with any drivetrain so not just the EV you can forget about an adult sitting behind a driver that needs the seat fully back and down unless they are a double lower limb amputee.
  3. Buyers / owners of Used / Pre-loved / not properly developed cars need be aware. With VW Group you sometimes get things as they should have been at launch if you wait long enough or do not give up on the car and move on. If they do not sort things it is never their fault it is the Early Adopters.
  4. '130 miles on a trip read out.' Bl00dy amazing if you are on your own. What we really need to know is how far you get with driver & a Rugby Sevens side in it with their kit.
  5. Google in your friend. Fabia Mk1 1.2 12v Ambiente Kerb Weight. Or the plate on the car with Max Gross Weight etc.
  6. I have only spoken with one driver of these. He got less range than me in a car with the 50kWh battery. No surprise there really. He had the basic one but with the 75kWh battery and he got worst range than me. With quite a lot of equipment in his van he left home charged, had to charge during the day then again before going home and then charging for the next day. He was provided with the van and home charging and energy but expected to charge with CPS during the day or pay himself if he used a non CPS charger.
  7. @lol-lol lots of facts and figures and spread sheets that show how cars are when occupied by just a driver in nearly every case. Relevant to drivers that do drive big or small EV,s on their own with not much in them. Putting 300 kg ballast in each time would be really useful to many wanting a family car to use carrying people and stuff.
  8. @jonty1960 When was that DSG's latest Oil Change, what miles, and what is it at now. ???? Were you charged £220 plus VAT then? *The issue might well be what was done last'. * Maybe an incompetent doing the DSG oil change.* The first 30 minutes of a Diagnostic is £60 including VAT. The Main Sealer Fixed Price Service & Maintenance price at Participating Dealers is £215 including VAT. So not £220 plus VAT. They are maybe a pith taking dealership.
  9. Best check your agreement T&C's. Always makes sense during a lease to have wheels / tyres changed from back to front / front to back. Are the fronts that far gone that they are not safe to move those wheels / tyres to the rear?
  10. Lots of Reps or 'Commercial Travellers' (Travellers) as we called them back in te 70s / 80's when they went about in mostly Fords or Vauxhalls now drive EV's and do 'Admin' work while charging. Making calls / orders / arrangements / appointments / site visit arrangements etc. They can be busy busy busy and might well just sit charging Free as many do in Scotland on not very quick chargers. £15-£20 not actually spent. Now that there are more 'Quicker' more powerful chargers some only have time to grab some food, have a toilet break and then get a move on. £20-£30 spent. It was the Free to use Charge Place Scotland chargers that stopped people putting in Commercial Chargers. Charge Place Scotland and unreliable chargers and pathetic maintenance has more and more EV drivers totally peed off with them and getting on with life and just Splashing the cash and paying to fuel their 'Work Tool' / Transportation.
  11. Charged the car at home to 99% and have unplugged and locked it and going to have it sit for 24 hours before plugging in and seeing what it shows as battery percentage. Not that cold, around 10*oC and in the shade. The car and phone shows the same % when actually working as the car keeps losing Bluetooth connection. Also has failed to show the 'Maintenance' scheduled dates / miles since Arnold Clark last had the car to service it and did nothing but look as there was no EV Technician Available. There must have been some incompetent that plugged it in though and could not complete the 'servicing' information so just left it.
  12. @KenONeillmentions the 'Bomb' thing on occasion and each time i watch for any Hydrogen Fuel Cell vehicles or road tankers being reported as exploding or vehicles with LPG tanks. There are plenty of either on UK roads but so far no reports of catastrophes. I used to sleep & cook next to the LPG Tank in my Land Rover but then i am an idiot. Still alive but still an idiot. When the guy at the Ferry Port wanted to dip the diesel tank and i said there was not one as it was a petrol V8 that only runs on LPG & there is not even a petrol tank he said they would have to open the tank in the back. I never used the 'Bomb' word but told asked if he was a total moron or only half of one. I never got on the ferry that time.
  13. Re Stranraer and PortPatrick and every place else with reported faults. It would help if people getting a charge would report in and let people know when they did last work if they do. 25 pence kWh Stranraer minimum £1 50. Which is fine if you can get a charge. Thankfully there is a Filling Station with a Commercial charger where paying 30 pence a kWh means you will not be in trouble as can happen with Charge Place Scotland who have had £45 million plus to provide an unreliable service.
  14. @AnnoyingPentium Well Girvan 50kWh might be working and might not, might be occupied with people waiting. Ballantrae more liable to not be. Downhill farm will cost you. Turnberry charger does not show on ZapMap or Plugshare. So best of luck at Stranraer or PortPatrick. This is part of the SouthWest 300 and a total joke.
  15. I do not think there is a loss just the car needing to use energy as the battery is charging to control stuff and there is the difference of a driver sitting in a car as I am now with stuff like chrome book and phone plugged in heater on etc compared to charging and locking the car. I am charging again this morning having only done 5 miles again since yesterday but a 6% drop in charge. When I get home I am going to charge to 100% and leave the car parked for 24 hours to see the drop in battery percentage. Then I might try 48 hours and if the battery drop is going to be as much as it is the car will be getting left at Arnold Clarks for a few days. Unlikely any software updates will make any difference. Unlikely they can do them anyway regardless of how long they have the car. EDIT. The the 6% indicated less energy in the car. It only takes slightly less than 5kWh to charge back up. So a 50 kWh battery if it is actually that means a 10% used for 5 miles / 24 hours.
  16. My guess is that it is looking after the GPF and getting it hot enough so that there are no issues.
  17. @nevsummer Do you mean you always use E10 since it arrived at UK filling stations in September or you were using it before then?
  18. Benbecula is right up there for vehicle ownership with 1 vehicle for each 2 people, adults and children. Then there is visitors vehicles. They have fairly done well in the past 10 years. So many economically inactive as well. benbecula-profile.pdf
  19. @lol-lolhas forgotten that Scotland does not have reliable Mobile Phone or Internet or even radio reception on some roads and routes in Scotland to even get Road Traffic Alerts. Transport Scotland really is a joke, then the gent that is in charge of the EV Charger Network is sadly a bit deluded in my opinion and experience. To me it is like a Transport Scotland , CPS / Swarco eVolt love in. The Transport Minister and First Minister need to go on a road trip doing the driving and charging themselves if they do drive. Also the co-leaders of the Scottish Green Party.
  20. @lol-lolwhen you have a few days free you should take a trip north and see how you get on at some on or off the CPS network, those on the Electric A9, & chargers or off the main routes for Hub charger stations. Plenty slow chargers about if you have the time to hang about waiting at them if that is not where actually want to be. If another £12 million at least of publics money is being thrown at SWARCO / EVolt this year it really needs to show some improvement over the ridiculous set up they oversee now. PS I Email ZapMap regularly about new chargers still not on their system but in operation and ones a long time out of service, nothing changes. As for the CPS map, that is just rubbish. Months now i have told them a charger 1/2 a mile from me is showing another 1/2 a mile from it's actual location. There are ones exactly the same around Scotland yet they communicate with them by SIM card and their staff maintain them so know where they are.
  21. Using the VIN might show if the Fix is still outstanding.
  22. Maybe you using 95 ron E10 now rather than the 95 ron E5 that was available. You could try a tank of E5 again but that means Super Unleaded. Try Tesco Momentum 99 or Sainburry Super Unleaded (97 ron) The Extra £2.50 it will cost will at least let you see if the E10 is the reason for the worse MPG.
  23. @AnnoyingPentium Man maths. 15 litres of unleaded would cost me £20.46 at present. if i get 10 miles a litre then 150 miles from that with passengers. If i have to charge my e-Corsa in North Ayrshire at 30 pence a kWH that is 45 times 30 pence so only £13.50 and i will get between 120-135 miles & maybe a bit more in good weather. Last winter i was up and down the A90 to Dyce Airport in freezing temps and got around 2.3 miles per kW. so 2.3 X 45 so just over 100 miles. Near 60 miles there and means i have not enough power to get home without following a bus or HGV or charging. OK if free or a cheap home charge setting off, but if paying @ 30 pence a kWh, but if i have to use a InstaVolt charger @ 42 pence, so that is 42 pence x 45 so £18.90 for just over 100 miles. If i was someplace that required me to use an Ionity charger @ 67 pence to get 45 kWh then £30.15. The rapid charger @ Ikea is 30 pence a kWh. Harthill Services BP is 32 pence and ultra rapid 42 pence. We are talking here about fingers crossed the roads stay open and no accidents and diversions adding extra miles on and taking me away from the already unreliable chargers where others in EV's might well be heading for. This is an issue with having a not very large battery capacity or efficient EV.
  24. @lol-lolNot winter yet. When it gets to 2.1 miles per kWh and you have only 45 kWh usable then you do not want to be on roads with snow or floods and possible diversions and chargers out of order. You dont want to get someplace with chargers in Scotland and not get a charge and not be able to get directly home like @AnnoyingPentiummight need to. https://dailyrecord.co.uk/ayrshire/another-ayrshire-council-start-charging-24255374 The less than 5.5 million people in Scotland might well want to know just where the £45 million pound already spent with CPS on Public Charging has all gone! https://fleetnews.co.uk/news/latest-fleet-news/electric-fleet-news/2021/10/13/electric-vehicle-charging-infrastructure-races-ahead-in-scotland Lots spent on Spin Doctors & PR.
  25. As the public chargers in Ayrshire North, South East and West are going to be costing to use the amount of chargers are going to increase. Kilmarnock has good facilities. The price that is going to be charged means an economic ICE vehicle will be cheaper to run. Especially in winter.
