MPH not showing on digital lcd display
@ukgnome Which Mk2 Fabia is this and what kind of dash? EDIT. Sorry i see now it is LCD display. Ignore below. It is just that you get a speedo with a needle, and KPH digital in the dash, but you need to change the KPH to get MPH in digital in the middle instead. (You need to change the setting to Australia using VCDS or whatever.) Personally i have not seen any that display KPH and MPH at the same time. When the Service Display is changed from Variable to Fixed the 'Oil Temperature' readout can be lost and show as dashes.

Newbie looking for comparisons.
They are rare while Skoda Dealerships have not delivered many during periods of locksdown and while dealership employees are not scooting about in them.

Collective Action Octavia First Edition
If matters are Safety Related or Safety Critical you contact the DVSA. As for the UK and Class Actions well we know how that affects the VW Group. Not one little bits, their sales increase. As for BBC Watchdog, Autocar, Auto Express, Which with things like Excessive Oil use of 1.8 / 2.0 TSI's with Audi / VW /SEAT or Skoda, then that is a joke.

Best pressure for large spare tyre
So that is the 'Best plan' to check your spare tyre pressure when you do the other 4. So that was dead simple. If everyone does that then that is 'simply clever'. However many do not, as witnessed if you work someplace where the Spares Pressure or tread gets checked. We are back to the OP and Technicians or others at Dealerships doing whatever or not knowing what is done. Having Inaccurate tyre pressure gauges are a pretty poor show............. Filling station services provided like Air Compressors that you pay 20 pence, 50 pence or whatever to use are maintained and checked by Service Station Maintenance operatives, as any Multi National charging for a service of equipment badly maintained or inaccurate are on a hiding to nothing.

DSG noise
You know it is a DQ200 if the car is from 2009-2021 and FWD with a 180ps engine or less with 250Nm or less. So those are 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.5 or some 1.8TSI's and a 1.4 or 1.6 TDI CR. ( Citigo gets a ASG not a DSG) With the Wet Clutch DSG's and 2.0 TSI / 2.0 TDI's you need to check which it is.

DSG noise
A DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG which has no Schedule / Guidelines or recommendations for services / oil changes.

Best pressure for large spare tyre
Maybe it is mainly female drivers that check tyre pressures at Filling Stations, as that is who i notice commonly doing it. Hopefully there are many enthusiasts and drivers in general that check tyre pressures regularly, reset the TPMS, top up the windscreen wash, check oil and coolant levels and generally make sure their car is serviced and maintained. Very handy, easy to use and easy to let the pressure down a bit and see by how much. I use them all the time when inflating all kinds of tyres onto rims then deflating to the correct pressure, or checking pressures. That is with any car i am going to be driving as i want to know the pressures are safe.

Automatic gearbox oil top up.
@Stan44 Welcome to the forum. Are you asking about a Tiptronic gearbox in a Fabia?

VRS passive dpf regen possible?
TDI's with a DSG can be taken for a drive and do regens and no extra load is happening, no low gear thrashing etc.

Dealerships quote between £3,000 & £5,000 but then you do not want involved in that. The issue is similar to that Ford had with Durashifts. (I had a duff Transit with Durashift.) The DQ200 DSG issues are not on the majority of the cars up to 2015. You want to try driving the cars though. For me a Yeti inner sill does not suit me. Then a Octavia does not suit. If a Roomster is too fugly then check out Mk2 Fabia Estates with a 1.2 TSI & DSG.

How to get the best performance out of a Octavia vrs
Welcome. Service it regularly and to get it to go the quickest it can you push the accelerator down as far as it will go.

Which skoda
No. Only the cars with an engine producing no more than 180ps. 250 Nm from the factory. Tiptronic not fitted after the DSG is introduced. So with Petrols FWD's it is , 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.5 & some 1.8 TSI's, & 1.4 or 1.6 TDI's. Wet Clutch DSG's require oil changes at 40,000 mile intervals. These will be fitted with AWD's and the more powerful engines. With the early Yetis there are things to look at like the possible Zinc Inclusion issue. (Rust) With DQ200 DSG's there was a World Wide Recall 2012 which excluded Europe which got a Service Campaign. So DSG oil changed from Synthetic to Mineral and a software update. '34F7'. That can be on any model of Skoda with a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG from 2009-2012. The another Service Campaign on some from 2013-2015 applies. '34H5' a software update as preventative issues because some had premature failures. Again this covers any model with a DQ200 DSG. That does not mean avoid them as many will have had the Campaign work, or even had replacement boxes or been repaired by this time.

Front wheel drive?
The charging infrastructure is not really an issue around Glasgow and the Central Belt of Scotland. There are Interest Free 6 year loans in Scotland for buying EV's. The free charging at ChargePlace Scotland chargers is starting to be at less places though sadly. There are areas that still are free though. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/465690-government-ev-loans-in-scotland-and-free-no-longer-free-public-charging-places

Which skoda
Welcome to the forum. The Yeti is the car that is easy in and easy out and you might find a 1.2 TSI DSG. Asking prices are at around £5,500 for a 2011 car. You might get one at the £5,000 or a bit less. A Skoda Roomster might be a good bet. There are some nice ones advertised at around the £2,000 mark. It is Easy in and Easy out and has good room. the petrol 1.2 TSI has a 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG that has no service schedule for oil changes, or there are earlier ones with a petrol 1.6 16v with a tiptronic gearbox. examples.

2021 Skoda Kamiq Review
- Front wheel drive?
RWD or AWD only. The RWD will be fine with the right tyres for winter use.- Superb turbocharged oil leak
Welcome. Are they VW Group Specialists? Have you read about the common issues that cause excessive oil use with Euro 5 1.8 TSI's ? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/266114-18tsi-and-20tsi-engine-failures/page/73 It could be the turbo, but best be sure that is what it is.- HAD ENOUGH
The Motoring Journalist and their Editors know very well that VW Group had to get vehicles First Registered in the UK and get the Average C02 g/km average low so as not to face financial penalties so the cars were punted out without the Software Issues being sorted. That is across the brands and includes the VW ID.3's. It is time the poo hit the fan but none of the publications are biting the hand that feeds them. Bob Flavin might tell it as it is, but that is about it really. https://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2020/07/vw-group-hands-software-development-over-to-audi/ https://europe.autonews.com/automakers/vw-recalls-56000-golf-models-software-problem- HAD ENOUGH
There is a problem with 'What Car' / Autocar / Pistonheads and that is Haymarket Media Group that own those publications, and also do work for the VW Group. What Car is liable to make the Skoda Octavia Mk4 'What Car' Car of the year regardless of Owner Feedback because they drove Media Cars and decided they were fantastic.- Extending the Time for Auto Stop/Start
Simply as you are driving have stop/start enabled on not. If you are going to be stopping you can put stop/start off, and when stopped and you want the engine off press the button and have stop/start enabled and the car will switch the engine off.- Best pressure for large spare tyre
Is that really an issue? as the heat issue is unlikely to be that great driving with a spare tyre to get it fixed at 50 mph in the hottest of UK weather. Spare tyre / wheel in the car and left at 40psi and checked regularly when the cars tyres are or even at 35psi. Tyre pressure gauge foer nearly no money in the car to adjust pressure. 3.5 bar / 50 PSI is the pressure that new cars in transit have the tyres at for being strapped down on a transporter.- EV your choice £40k to £90k
