  1. @Powerred I have tripped up the kerb a few times. Enjoy the car.
  2. @Teds There has been a DQ200 DSG safety issue though, and that is for the drivers that have lost drive. So not related to the 'hesitation' but they have had Software Updates to the DSG. There are even member here that got rid of vehicles and lost money because of that.
  3. @AllDaySkoda Someone did a vid to help.
  4. VW will get there eventually with an EV in every class. They talk about them for long enough.
  5. Below are the Test Results / Report for Tesco from 2012 on Momentum for fuel economy & emissions. Comparing their 99 against their 95 and others 95, also their 99 against a competitors that was 99 ron and had just changed from being 98 ron in the UK. The Tesco Fuels are produced by Greenergy who partnered with Royal Dutch Shell importing base fuels. Greenergy also produce and deliver road fuels for ESSO and others, independents etc. 388380a097b04fe693a8c27db8bb4974 (1).pdf 6ca06d648b9541e78fa838fece4a1a23 (1) (3).pdf
  6. @ScoutCJB They did do tests , more than once, & when Shell V-Power was 98 ron before it became 99 ron when changed to V-Power Nitro+ Maybe @shyVRS245 had 98 ron min when dynoing the SEAT Cupra. The Manufacturers figures on BHP / PS & Nm torque are a minimum you should get in the UK when never more than 3,000 feet above sea level and in not extreme weather conditions. I doubt a Dyno in the UK isat more than 2,000 feet above sea level and cold air is blowing at the intercooler. The Max PS / Nm torque should be better than the figures quoted for the car you bought on 95 ron UK fuel, and more on a higher octane. It is always worth those buying fuels knowing what they are getting when and what formulation. Royal Dutch Shell have 102 ron V-Power Nitro+ in pumps at filling stations near some Italian Car Manufacturers Factories and test tracks. https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/need-help/need-help-faqs/fuel Note 2nd Vid. Esso & BP is 97 ron min & Shell V-Power at that time is 98 min. *Tesco Momentum 99 was 99 ron min on sale in the UK at that time.*
  7. @shyVRS245 Was that the actual bhp figures you got the cars were on the dyno with the different fuels of 99 ron minimum being used? Or a seat of the pants dyno reading? Being winter and now the winter formulation road fuels are in filling stations the minimum octane figures can be exceeded, and the 99 ron can be more like the 100+ ron available across the English Chanel on Continental Europe.
  8. @Diljit Why not just put in Tesco Momentum 99 (99 ron min) every tank, or Sainsbury Super Unleaded (97 ron Min) & not waste the extra money on Shell V-Power Nitro +? There is nothing special in the additives / octane booster with the overpriced Royal Dutch Shell Product over the other less expensive Super Unleaded. The other 2 will be the same or less expensive than Shell 95 ron unleaded Fuel Saver.
  9. @KeteCantekIndeed they have changed the Skoda Fixed Price & Maintenance. They changed that in January. As came up in a DSG thread today, they show that pricing as on cars from 3 years old / From first MOT. Spark Plugs are not of much interest to those with a TDI, the fuel filter interval might be.
  10. @Powerred Welcome. The car is lovely. ? Was it in Dundee?

@croquemonsieur LPG is a cheap product and is taken off from the pipeline bringing north sea oil in at Cruden Bay to Grangemouth. INEOS own that pipeline now. (INEOS that are building the new Grenadier 4x4 / the modern Improvement on the LR DEFENDERS.) http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-business-54886707 Skoda do the natural gas engines in the countries with the infrastructure, that is not the UK. In Dundee the Council Grants to run LPG & for conversions were popular & many taxis used LPG for a few years. ( & LPG as used on Farms in grain driers & Home Heating has no marked dye....) I ran V8 Landy's on LPG only without petrol so no Tacho required when towing commercially, & when it was only 50 pence a litre and petrol was £1. but then when the chancellor was putting 2 pence a litre on fuel and ASDA stopped giving 2 pence a litre off with a ASDA credit card i stopped using LPG. It was easy filling up in the North of Scotland by less so as i went south, and pretty poor in England. I had 2 tanks that added up to 220 litres of LPG though in my last 110 4.6 V8 auto that made for pretty cheap towing as i got 2.5 miles to the litre minimum and sometimes as much as 3.5 miles.. I was refused on Ferries to Northern Ireland when they looked in the back. They wanted to open the tank. Luckily i never used the B*MB word, but i still never got to do the crossing.
  12. It is certainly not done in 20 minutes from a tech picking up the keys and worksheet as Nd car onto the ramp and then doing the drain and refill and road-test. But then when the car is getting serviced anyway it is going on the ramp, being plugged in, and supposedly getting a road test. And the brake inspection free, wash and vacuum and body inspection. You can not just keeping adding time and charging £95 plus VAT an hour. As anyone working in a main dealer workshop know how many 'services' fitter / techs can get done in an 8 hour day.
  13. @varaderoguy If you watch a Technician doing the cars service from the viewing area including the DSG oil change and they went and sat with their feet up for 40-60 minutes to stretch out the time / labour so that the job was double the price you would be saying WTF. & the oil is the price the oil is.
  14. @varaderoguy Thanks, i see the T&C's now are still there. Makes little difference what Skoda UK might say. If someone has a under 3 year old car there are dealerships that will do the DSG oil change for £200. Actually there are some that will do over 3 year old ones and were saying it was £229 with a filter and are now saying £249. Money for old rope.
  15. @varaderoguy So what is the 'un-subsidised' price to do a DSG oil change on a 40,000 mile DSG under 3 years old? The Fixed Price Service & Maintenance Menu no longer says anything about cars 3-10 years old.

  17. There are not that many advertised with 73,000 miles on @ 3 years old to make a comparison with. 110,000 though.
  18. The cars 215/45 R18 better fit in the spare tyre well. If your car has passengers and luggage and you need to fit the spare because of tyre / wheel damage it needs to go someplace while the spare is fitted.
  19. @Carlston No idea what you are talking about from what the OP is. It is about buying a Spare Wheel & Kit and no mention of the wrong wheels on the car they have.
  20. @Carlston Are you rolling in money and is that really what you would be doing if you happened to have got a new Kamiq?
  21. PS The car could have had wonderful maintenance and no expense spared, but. You need to look see that it does not need tyres, wiper blades, discs / pads / dampers etc. especially look see that the windscreen has not a million tiny stars (chips) showing when the car is facing the sun.
  22. You can check what the Manufactures Schedule or as they call them guidelines are. Not much on a 3 year old car or even one at 73,000 miles.. Oil & Filter every 24 months or 18,000 to 20,000 Maybe a Pollen filter maybe not in that 3 years. No Air or Fuel filter in 3 years. Brake Fluid @ 3 years, but even Skoda Approved Used Cars might not have that done. Haldex Oil Changes for cars with that should be at 3 years or sooner, and even Skoda Approved Used cars might not have that carried out. DSG Oil changes are at 40,000 miles. Same story, only done if someone paid to have done, Approved Used cars might not have had done. Ignore the prices, that was last years Skoda Fixed Servicing at participating dealers.
  23. @stanian If we only knew who manufactured the wiper blades that are on a Skoda / VW or those that you buy. It will not be Skoda.
  24. @bspman Just like all the Classic Fast Fords and others that i wanted when they were new and were many many times more than i could afford and were not automatics. Currently i have my eye on a Alfa Romeo Giulia that is an Auto, in red and the car i most covet. Only issue is i am £69,000 short to be able to buy it.
