  1. There is good reasons the paint is what it is these days and different when i started out as a car painter more than 4 decades ago. Many do not faff around with PPF and have lovely paintwork even with what leaves car factories in 2020.
  2. Guest_ replied to vrskeith's topic in Skoda Enyaq
The ID.3 / ID.4 or the Enyaq will not arrive in the UK with all Season Tyres that might suit the use all year from the length and breadth of the UK, so to get the snow performance it might well be a tyre change required. Then as far as Heat Pumps, there can be very different weather / winter conditions around the UK where the EV's might be used. I have All Season Tyres on my e-Corsa now because Michelin Primacy 4 are just a nonsense on an EV IMO. Maybe fine for WLTP Figures. But then the AC needs to be on or the car steams up, and that reduces range. A Heat Pump is there and the instant heating is a wonderful thing IMO.
  3. No idea where your part of the world is. If you say it might help. http://paisleyfreight.co.uk
  4. Actually everything is not free with NHS Scotland but there are things that can be that may not be in England. University Fees might be free for some in Scotland but that does not include everyone from other parts of the UK.
  5. Important to note that there are 4 different NHS's in the UK, and NHS England is only one of those.
  6. Clear Screen / Rain X are not a problem. My cars are sitting with it applied and refreshed regularly, new ones and old ones and summer or winter. I was a car sprayer and i use the stuff in the picture to rinse cars, then clean the glass of vehicles, but i use Meths so that it is handy and i can drink it if no Brasso is available.
  7. He says he has, but if that was before the last wash and wax it needs doing again.
  8. Are you serious about the smell of vinegar? I would not bother then. You wet a cloth with vinegar and wipe the window and it cleans it. Or kitchen towel. Just as you did surely with the Halfords Glass Cleaner. Your Dads and others might not have what ever was used on your screen. I would be getting the windscreen wash out that you have and fill with what you usually use so you know what is what.
  9. Looks like your Wash & Wax from the car wash means you need to be really cleaning your windscreen after using it. I would try Vinegar if there is any in the house to cleanse the screen well.
  10. ? What do you wash your car with something like Wash & Wax, or Hi-Wax Rinser? ? Have you cleaned the screen yet with Vinegar or Glass Cleaner? ? What Screen Wash is there used, and have you mixed with what was in the car when you got it? If it was Rain X or similar you can drive in the rain and the water just clears off the screen when freshly done. The likes of this on the screen can cause problems and needs removed.
  11. Is it a 87 litre tank, so a few gallon still in before filling?
  12. The Nm Torque and PS is the minimum you should gets and that you are paying for in the worst of conditions. So in the UK you will not be more than 3,000 ft above sea level, not in air temps above 40*oc or lower than -30*oC, and the 95 octane fuel minimum will be 95 octane minimum so there is going to be better power produced than the figure that the car should achieve in adverse conditions.
  13. I think the idea is to save some paying the correct VED band for what the vehicles actually produce in emissions. Then to reduce the bill by Millions or Billions in Health Care and the penalties for not meeting Co2 reduction that the Governments signed up to.
  14. Welcome. Valid MOT, VED & Insurance, fit a towbar and electrics & have a Driving Licence that allows you to tow, and maybe best get some Towing Instruction if you have never done any towing before.
  15. If you get a shorter life than with the Stop / Start battery given how short the life some on this forum get with OEM Stop / Start batteries as fitted by Skoda then that is really pretty crap IMO.
  16. Since the do not getting a VW Caddy Life or whatever makes sense for carrying bikes in. Or a Seat Alhambra / VW Sharan, sliding side doors.
  17. They feel like you are driving a taller Fabia Estate. Which you kind of are. They can be modded just like a Fabia wheel / suspension wise and be used as campers as members have and as shown in the Roomster & Roomster Project sections.

  19. Twice this week at different chargers there have been Tesla's on type 2 chargers and i parked next to them and used the CCS chargers. Each of the drivers when they returned said the chargers would not start charging on the CCS so they used the type 2. Neither of them thought on calling the number on the charger to get it started and had ever done that in the past having had the same issue often and saying the cars have an issue. I would say the issue could be that they lack the common sense they were born with.
  20. The penny / euro pinching would be fine if they were available from the price the Autocar article title says they are from. The truth is they are near 9 grand more but then you can buy for 3-4 grand less than the RRP's.
  21. Toyota RAV 4 & the Suzuki are just badge engineering. So have Suzuki really managed to get away with the New Jimny's high emissions by now doing a Jimny Commercial (van) for the UK. Back with the last Jimny there was a 1.5 Diesel that was for the RoI. https://www.parkers.co.uk/vans-pickups/news/2020/suzuki-jimny-van
  22. @croquemonsieur As i said safety first for me what ever the season and i have tyres to select from for traction and handling. Noise, comfort or economy just do not enter the equation with me.
