  1. The Brakes make the car stand on it's nose at slow speed. Real care needed or someone will be ramming your rear hard. The range is achievable and when ECO is chosen the AC is not a dead parrot as the heating is not not available. There is the 'massage telling you it is 'limited'. I have not yet been able to tell what it no longer does.

Lots of actually 'Simply Clever' features. Rather nice IMO. Maybe no need for a 'Ice Scraper' / Glass Scratcher in the 'Electric Plug charging point flap' as you can just hear the Interior while plugged in and clear the side glass and screens, or do it with the cars energy. Lets hope Skoda have a Fuel / Charging port on these that does not freeze closed. Maybe they have a wee heater element to prevent this....
  3. OT but if talking Pizza'a they were on the Channel 4 programme Food Unwrapped this week. It should be repeated or available on catch up. They were in a Pizza Factory in Scotland which manufacture Pizza's for the Chilled Cabinets and also Frozen Pizzas. Same bases and toppings. Difference in the MRRP is they are more expensive in the Chiller Cabinet because of the self life and more waste than those that are in the freezer. Full Main Dealer Servicing could be worth the Extra Expense if you could trust that Servicing and maintenance was carried out as required competently and you were being treated with honesty on the advice given on requirements. Sadly Full Main Dealer Servicing Histories often just show how little gets done. Anyone that has to make a Warranty Claim on Paint or Corrosion then get told that body inspections were not done yet they have FMDSH on the car then know that the Employees were not doing part of the job that was being paid for.

Note the starting price / RRP. It was nice and is nice when people have choices.
  5. Re the £200 Protection pack. The Salesperson knows exactly what they need to get buyers to purchase as extras to be earning commission. They do the job 6 days a week.
  6. Very strange list, Extended Scope Inspection'. Are they really checking the lights and glass, tyres, fluid levels etc twice. Once in the Service and then a 2nd time because you paid for the Extended Inspection. Are they really removing wheels to check the brakes visually. 'All belts' do not get checked, just those they can see. Maybe a good idea that a Master Tech re-checks the job the Tech or Fitter just did.
  7. The most outrageous ever has what has been doing for years before now. There was Minor & Major Services about and at each Major Service there could be a pollen filter and at each 2nd Major Service maybe the Air Filter or the Fuel Filter or the Spark Plugs could be changed. Maybe not, maybe not even looked at, but the £289 was being charged just the same if the parts were provided and fitted or not. So now an 'Oil & Inspection Service' and every 3rd year pay for the 'Extended Scope Inspection' if you want, and pay for parts being changed. Then pay VAT on the Parts & Labour of parts actually fitted. With the Fixed £289 Major Service sometimes the Parts were not Supplied, then HMRC never got VAT on the Parts. Parts Suppliers supplied less parts. You were £289 less well off and the Dealership was happy as Larry. Less labour time, less parts and the same price. (Have a Citigo, less oil, 1 less sparkplug, and pay the same as those having a Superb Serviced and the oil quantity of that.) They still are at it with the mark up on parts & fitting now while paying the Labour with the Service or Service with Extended Scope is Outrageous. At least you can clearly see the prices.
  8. @dmus9230 Welcome to the forum. Best get the car to a Dealership and have them check the week old car. Or have them come to you.
  9. Best since you do not know what it is that you go to a specialist that does know about DSG's. So what engine have you and what DSG. ie, age of car, miles of car, servicing the DSG (oil change) has had if any?
  10. @arturoroger That will not stop whoever Skoda UK has as the latest Brand Director if they have found one from VW from telling the press that they have had a very successful year after lock down was lifted with have a selection of new Greener Models with Mild Hybrids and Plug ins. Even though they discontinued the Citigo iV with only 400 imported to the UK. That will be even with some Franchised Dealers with Employees unable to tell potential customers very much about the products or delivery or even how things in them work. It is just how Skoda UK is now, they sell cars to people if they try hard enough to get them. Many now just swerve Skoda Dealers to arrange a purchase and go to Brokers and only pick cars up at dealerships.
  11. @arturoroger Welcome to the forum. Sorry but a bit confused by what you are saying. If Skoda have customers & orders for the cars arriving in the UK then how is it costing sales. That only happens when they get their calculations wrong and have stock or demonstrators / management cars sitting and no buyers. ? Which country are you in, the UK?
  12. @Brin Is the new battery fitted and the car started and the lights out?
  13. @stefanjo You are only going to know if you can by getting a tow bar & fitting it. How much is the Tow Bar and wiring kit & who from?
  14. Just to clarify. If the Castrol Edge is not to VW504 / 507 if it is not 'Long Life'. It will not show as to VW 504 /507. So VW504 for variable or fixed servicing, & to VW502 if just doing fixed servicing is the important bit. Names / Brands not so and not worth a premium in many cases. Multi National Supermarkets get their oils to sell from the Oil Producers that are producing for others.
  15. ^^^ Correct. Issue with the 1.5TSI Manuals that required the various attempts by VW Group to resolve with software updates after the usual denials. Also affecting some with DSG's which they denied for even longer, then also the 1.5TSI's with DSG' got a Software update, then there were those that the issue was a DSG software one which is yet another software update. Confused? Well that is exactly how VW Group and Dealership staff like it. 'They all do that.' Never heard of that. Overblown on forums, we do not listen to forums. All sorted now sir or madam, not that there was anything to fix. How the Social Media and Forums catch out liars at VW Group. The threads are here on Briskoda, in the Karoq Section and any section with models with a 1.5TSI. That should not include the Scala or Kamiq as the issue that never existed was sorted. 'Or was it?'
  16. Welcome. At 3 years the Haldex Service should have been done and at 4 years it is overdue if not done. The Brake Fluid should have been done at 3 years or at least the H2o content tested. The DSG Oil change is due at 40,000 miles. So if it says FULL MAIN DEALER SERVICE HISTORY look at the actual history and see if SERVICED TO THE MANUFACTURERS SCHEDULE OR GUIDELINES.
  17. @WesH Has the Haldex been getting the regular service and maintenance so oil changes and has the rear diff been attended to and had oil changes?
  18. The Long Life is important if you really want Variable Flexible Service Intervals, or you are using VW 504/507 for Fixed Intervals with a 1.2 TSI. So the 5w 30 FS III or even 0w 30 FS III. But then you can use the correct spec and not Long Life & do Fixed Oil Changes @ 9,400 (10,000) miles or 372 days or sooner. So VW502 which will be 5w 40 FS. As to who produces the oil to 0w 40 FS or the 5w 30 FS, the stuff in a COMMA, ASDA, TESCO or any other bottles will do the same job as the Quantum, Castrol, Mobile or whatever. It is not penny pinching not using Long Life, maybe just better No Long Life oil or Servicing and longer lived TSI's.
  19. Putting in N and applying the parking brake at extended stops or not to have the brake lights on is exactly the same as in any car, and according to the UK highway code. (Putting in P means going through N & R to get into and out of P.) When you have a DSG vehicle with Autohold some have the brake lights on and some do not. The car holds where it is and you are still in D and the Stop / Start can have the engine off or on as you choose. You do not need to apply the e-Brake / Parking Brake, autohold is enabled, then it functions by pressing the brake pedal harder than just slowing or stopping.
