Colour
& White cars in hot sunny climes are just simply clever as they reflect the heat unlike dark cars / roofs. Hence caravans used to be white or have white roofs, Safari Land Rovers had white or light roofs. In a snowy country a Red roof is not a bad idea, or orange, and in cold places a dark car.

E-bike
I am waiting on the delivery this week of a new e-Bike that i can carry on the roof of my EV. I was looking for a lighter and simple e-bike, so I ordered an Orbea Gain F40. This is the flat bar bike with just 1x9, i did think about a drop bar one but decided not for me as i would be more on the tops than the drops, but i would not have minded the Gravel Bike version with the wider tyres. 700x40. I have a dropper seat post of the correct size for a Orbea & will use a stem riser as i usually fit. I tried riding my pushbikes last week, fat bike, fattie6 and just 26" trail bike and am really not going to be riding them anymore other than the lightest one i have which can go in the car or on my roof carrier. Getting lazy and like the pedal assist. The Orbea will go in the car easily as well. Many EV charging places have height barriers which means the bike needs to be in the car or on a rear rack. The heavier e-Bikes i have really need carried on a towbar rack as lifting them onto the roof & off is a PITA. They can go in the car with the front wheel off but not always with other stuff being carried. Not me reviewing....

- Unsure about 2019 superb estate
@valley84 Welcome. You had best check not only the Service History but the Warranty History, so was the Water Pump replaced under the Manufacturers Warranty? If so the Warranty on that runs to the end of the Manufacturers Warranty on the car. As to the rear bumper protector. Anyone might fit them, and that will include whoever bought or leased an estate car that might well do high miles carrying stuff that gets lifted in an out the back. Those that carry bikes in the back might well as they do a good job of protecting the paint work, or covering any damage already done.- Fabia Mk2 front wheel removal
People need to think about tightening fasteners to the correct torque settings and if that should be with dry or greased threads. Before fitting studs, bolts or nuts to hold on wheels and correctly tightening a wipe with an oily rag is more than sufficient in Scotland for ever to now. The roads, salt applied, weather etc have not changed that much over the decades. The wheels are fitted to Skoda's in the Czech republic which is not unlike Scotland. Pity that with Skoda Full Main Dealer Servicing a car can go many years and the wheels will never be off the cars since fitted at the factory & until the driver finds that getting them off can be very difficult. The matting faces of wheels and hubs need more attention with a nice grease barrier, especially with dissimilar metals. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/310443-copper-grease-wheels-hubs-yay-or-nay http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/59906-copper-grease-wheel-nut-bolts http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/348610-releasing-stuck-alloy-wheels- Skoda Kodiaq vRS to be removed from sale due to emissions rules
That deals with NZ then which might well be a market that is not that important in the bigger picture. The demise of the Kodiak vRS is about emission regulations in Europe and not RoW. There will always be a need for vehicles that can tow heavy trailers and go longer distances, they just don't need to be tarted up and pretend to be sporty. But then the same applies to the dual use pickups that are more lifestyle than work vehicle.- Scala Row 1 Seat Issue (Manual Seats)
The issue requires Skoda / VW Group to do more than issue a TPI. It could be a 'Safety Critical issue' so Skoda UK need to raise and discuss it with the DVSA. With consideration to a 'Recall' being carried out. If they do not know what vehicles might be concerned an 'Inspection' will be required and not just a Service Recall / Recall action on vehicles that are into Skoda main dealerships. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions- Understanding more about CBZB engine and timing chain replacement
The correct part is the one that was the upgrade required on the 1.2 TSI's up to late 2011. The Service Manager needs to get some training. The Skoda Dealership employees at the Service & Parts desk should know exactly the Kit as it is on the TPI for the 2011 1.2TSI's that required it. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/344005-12tsi-cam-chain-problem/page/6- Kodiaq boot space - from 720 to 835 liters
You need to watch out for when they use the Spare Tyre well volume as included in Boot Space for when Spare Wheels may not be 'Standard Equipment' in models / countries. Then the Spare Wheel may not be included in the 'Kerb weight' for the WLTP / RDE2. From an old thread from another forum not related to this OP.- Citigo Electric

@Isaidtwistnotpull Any chance you can say which years of DQ200's DSG's were having these 'Early Failures'? ? Is this a relevant or current issue with DQ200's built this year or last? There were the various issues, the World Wide Recall excluding Europe that got Service Campaign '34F7' which is to do with the Synthetic Oil. 2009-2012. Then '34H5' for 2013-2015. The Australian latest Recall now from 2009-2015/16. The 'Famous DQ200 DSG Slipping Clutch from 2015 as featured in the Fabia Mk2 sections. There are TPI's, Uprated Clutches and Software Updates. The issue some with the DQ200's & 1.5TSI's of the past 2 years. Again a Software Update.- Citigo Electric
https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-news/industry-news/skoda/skoda-drops-the-citigo-city-car Skoda / VW employees will spin a story and journalists will publish some of the car they spout. What might interest some is what the 'Waiting list' is like to buy / lease a Mii Electric or a e-Up! in the UK. How long from ordering a factory build until delivery or are any in Stock or in transit and can be purchased?- Octavia upgrades

- Oil quality/ service intervals from backstreet garage
@fingerz Why not just ask what the 'Bulk' oil is that they have. It may be 'Quantum' / Fuchs', Comma or one of many other oils used in garages which is perfectly good considering that Castrol is nothing special and not VW UK's choice anymore. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/476057-vag-independent-uses-fusch-oils- 'Simply Clever' Stop Start - new discovery
There is no 'DSG slipping clutch' if you are stopped and using 'Autohold' or if you do not want the brake lights on if your car has the brake lights on as some do when in 'Autohold' just put in 'N' and use the 'E-brake'. (In the Kamiq / Scala the manual parking brake.)- Karoq oil change reqired
Or,. Showing 'oil change due' and Service in 9,300 miles because as usual an AC tech / fitter messed up resetting the car from 'in transit'. If variable / flexible servicing was requested the car arrived at AC on that setting. One thing, unlikely, but your car was taken for WLTP retesting when it arrived in the UK. Some are retested and go missing in action for a week or 3.- Karoq oil change reqired
You best look at your service plan and see if it is 4 services at 'Fixed Service Intervals, it must be. Service 1 at Year 1 or 9,400 miles. 1st Mot at 3 years, 2nd at 4 years. There is no way they were doing to be doing 2 year intervals & the 4th service in 2028.- Karoq oil change reqired
@snowie55 Welcome. Do you mean you have done 8,000 miles since January, but not 9,300 miles? If the car was new in January it arrived at the dealers of Variable / Flexible Servicing. Did you ask to have it changed to Fixed Servicing, so @ 9,400 miles / 372 days, what ever comes first? The oil does not need changed at 8,000 or 9,000 miles as it is long life oil suitable for 18,000-20,000 miles. But, If on Fixed Servicing on the Service Interval Indicator you best have a Oil & Filter change, or discuss with the Dealership you got it from why it is on Fixed Servicing. Sorry but no idea why your Mileometer should have added miles if that is what has happened.- extreme oil use
@stonyb1 The engines with issues were Euro 5 emissions ones. Oil issues, 1.4 TSI 132 kW Twinchargers 2010-2012, then some till 2014. & 1.8 & 2.0 TSI's. The 1.2 issue was timing chain tensioners to late 2011. @weasley I just spotted your post. A litre of engine oil weighs 856 grams, and that is the weight Skoda accepts it weighs at 15*oC so used for Official Oil Consumption tests..- New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..

'Skoda Assist' need a rollicking as well. The car should have been uplifted and a 'courtesy car' or hire car delivered. Car was potentially dangerous to drive after one attempt to rectify the fault.- DSG noise
So they were talking rubbish. The DQ200 has 2 oils, in the Box and in the MCU. There is no Service Schedule / Guidelines for changing the Oil and never has been. (There was a World Wide Recall 2012/13 and Service Campaign in Europe 2014 to change the Factory Synthetic Oil to Mineral.) So no oil changes. VW / Skoda are dropping 1.0 TSI / 1.5 TSI FWD's with DQ200 DSG's soon and what you will get is just Mild Hybrids with the e-DQ200, cars start moving on electric.- DSG noise
Welcome to the forum. A 1.6TDI has a DQ200 DSG just the same. Software different. Those with non noisy DQ200 DSG's are surely feeling cheated if the Dealers Technician was telling the truth. Not that he or she was. They have been producing DQ200 DSG's for over a decade and it is unbelievable the carp spoken by Dealership Employees or Customer Services Staff. - Unsure about 2019 superb estate
