Grinding when accelerator pedal is enagaged
Certainly not covered under a Skoda Main Dealer Service. The Haldex and the Diff oil changes would be 'Extra Charges', as is Brake Fluid change and anything more than an Oil & Filter change and look see and report. There is said to be some topping up done..... Best use a trusted VW Independent.

New Landrover Defender are you up for one?
@shyVRS245 A favour please. Ask the guy you know that works in the JLR Dealership for an idea of the kind of people that are ordering new Defenders and if any are people wanting them as a work vehicle. @Aspman Just this week i was reading about the planned Garden Villages in England and how reliant those living there would be on cars. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-53050801 Grant Shapps, Robert Jenrick (if he lasts) & Rushi Sunak need to get together and get the planning so that there is off street parking and the requirement that properties are ready for EV charging points and EV to grid before planning is allowed. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/452464-england-ev-charging-points-a-proposal

Grinding when accelerator pedal is enagaged
@JakeByrd The bearing needs checking, but you could lift the rear and do that. I was not saying your issue at the rear is the Haldex, but the Haldex Oil change used to be said to be at 4 years, and then 3 and 30,000 miles and some need doing sooner depending on if actually used in mud etc. ? Do you know if the Haldex is actually functioning?

New Landrover Defender are you up for one?
@skomaz You are the one that is tarring them all as being like paupers. Open your eyes. Salt of the earth, hard working individuals. Well there are many of those. There are those that are loaded, having worked hard, or worked the system, & you must know different ones from those that i have meet at 4x4 offroad competition and fishing. I used to go regularly to NI, and the South.

@skomaz There are many different kinds of farmers, tenant or land owner or slipper farmers in NI the same as in the RoUK. You were maybe right though with 'most', also maybe with 'the farmers you know'. But that 'most' just means a majority, and not 'all'. No idea just who you know, but what about those you do not know?

Yeti tyre and rim conundrum
@Schtum ? Which have you on now? They have changed in over the decade plus. There are new Skoda now with Michelin Primacy 5's fitted. (EDIT, Doh, i cant see where someone last week said their new car have Primacy 5 on it, maybe that was a typo. Not out yet.) There are Primacy 3 run flats, & Primacy 4's, Primacy HP's, Speed Ratings are one thing & load ratings, and Michelin Primacy went on the rears of Toyota GT86 / Subaru BRZ with 200bhp and Motoring Journalists big upped how the back end could be swung out as traction was lost. That is the thing with tyres on front wheels or rear wheels of even an under 150PS Hybrid or EV or even maybe just an Auto, you can see the TC / ASR light or feel the electronics cutting power or stopping wheel slip on damp roads, or maybe winter time if you keep on what comes as 'all season / all year tyres' but certainly not that good in all weathers. Those used to a Yeti FWD or AWD that has good tyres fitted will notice soon enough if the Primacy that some EV's / Hybrids are coming with are any good, or driving with even more care than normal is required.

Jaguar Land Rover made things easy for a DIY'er. If you could not fix them with a Screwdriver & hammer there was a box of Swan Vesta in the glove box.

Grinding when accelerator pedal is enagaged
@JakeByrd How many miles has your car done and are you going to a mechanic to get things checked out? Relevant to the Haldex and the rear, but has the Haldex been serviced, and has the rear diff ever had and oil change? Always worth a look underneath to see what you see. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/481392-4x4-rear-propshaft-coupling-damper

- Citigo 2nd service prices
Skoda have a Servicing & Maintenance Site saying what a customer / owner should expect for money paid, so i posted this. There was a member said it was being done. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/478810-citigo-servicing-2-years-and-from-then-on-brake-servicing-question It used to show at Major Services, now it shows with 'Extended Scope' when being paid for.- Citigo Servicing @ 2 years and from then on Brake Servicing question.
Now instead of @ a 'Major Service', Remove Wheels and check brakes is showing as part of the Extended Scope which is an Extra Cost part of Servicing when having a 'Oil and Inspection Service'. @ £59 extra.- medic565
@medic565 Time to get a Tyre Pressure gauge so that you can check the pressures at home when the car is not in a garage and see the actual pressure when tyres are cold in the different seasons. If you drive easily to a Filling Station inflation device really your tyres heated and the pressures will not be that different. Non of it is rocket science really. It can be turned into that though. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/219400-winter-tyre-pressures- medic565

- Yeti tyre and rim conundrum
@Schtum When i have driven the 3 flavours of the Niro's with them on it is obvious that they are fitted to give more range and fuel economy at the expense of grip / traction / friction. It is very obvious when cold and wet. My new EV Corsa also has Primacy fitted, but the Launch car i drove had Michelin Pilot Sport fitted. I have driven 2 demonstrators sister cars as in Peugeot e-208 & e-Corsa and i was disappointed in the difference with the ECO tyres on.- What oil for 1.5 TSI ?
STOP! Ask the chatter, who & where they are and do they know their back end from their elbow. So if your cars recommended oil for Variable Flexible servicing and the car left the factory with VW 508/509 that is 0w 20 FS IV. (Long Life) You could use 5w 30 FS III at the next service. (Long Life) That is VW504/507 (Fixed Servicing could have VW502 used, so 5w 40 FS.) http://volkswagen.co.uk/owners/servicing/regimes Maybe if you own the car and are keeping it for years and doing low annual mileages and changing the oil annually, or you could stick using Long Life oil. 0w 20 FS IV or the 5w 30 FS III. This below is for Variable / Flexible Servicing of TSI's since before the WLTP Approval. The bit at the bottom is because VW Group started using VW508/509 before WLTP Testing and approval. so 0w 20 FS IV- Yeti tyre and rim conundrum
Replacing the Michelin Primacy tyres that are OEM on a Niro is a pretty good move.- MPG. It's taking over my life.
@MiniEggs Anything in a brochure is nothing to do with actual adult people in seats of a vehicle and stuff in the boot and taking them for a drive that is not test conditions on a road or a rolling road. Next year the figures will be totally different with RDE2 if the vehicles are even still being built.- New Sorento
It is me in the orange one parked askew to the post. and the others really could not see the parking markings. The Tractor was actually clearing the snow, but i thought it amusing.- Stop/Start on Turbo charged Engines
Very much changed. Stop / Start was introduced a long time back and there can still be cooling done to an engine when you switch off. If you want just switch off stop / start in a situation like you are mentioning, but i would imagine that you are likely doing no more than 90 down a motorway and not really going to cook the engine / turbo.- Tyre burst even though 4mm tread remained
No issue, they need to be manufactured, distributed and then transported to fitting places. That happens over the weeks and months.- Tyre burst even though 4mm tread remained
^^^ This and iron works / covers at roadworks / ramps marked with a sign on the road saying 'ramp'. Big sheets of have metal placed on the road.- Tyre burst even though 4mm tread remained
Motorways have lots of debris on them from vehicles having blowouts, bodywork etc and also coming off the back of commercial / scrappers vehicles. - Citigo 2nd service prices
