  1. Sept 2014 - March 2015. So yes Jan 2015 a 64 plate. They tried to get all Mk2 First Registered before March, but there are some on 15 plates. Mk 3's were just arriving to customers in 2015, some were late 2014 in Dealerships as Demonstrators. PS SE64 Aberdeen / Aberdeenshire.
  2. Very common front drivers side with UK Mk2 Fabia vRS. If replacing a new pair of fronts be sure to check when they arrive they are a pair, i have seen TPS deliver wrong ones, and OEM can be silly priced more expensive than decent after market ones. Same goes with the rears. Maybe best upgrading all round. These are standard not Dealer fit options which were Eibach.
  3. What a shame that the Service books that were showing services and body checks if filled in stopped going in cars during the production years of Mk2 Fabia. @geochr Welcome to the forum. There were Mk2 Fabia still being first registered in the UK in 2015 no matter when they were built. ? Where was your car Registered. So what are the 2 letters at the start of the Reg Number?
  4. Stories of EGR failures put off some buyers and people that do not want diesels and because of the government demonising them, but 2008/9 - 2016 TDI's still sell and the trade still take them in as trade ins.
  5. Re Washable / Treatable Performance filters. If a replaceable paper filter is dirty enough at 10,000 or 20,000 or 30,000 miles to need replaced then the 'Performance filter' would also be dirty enough to be reducing performance and wasting fuel as well, maybe even sooner than the paper filter. So cleaning or cleaning and treating required.
  6. The 80,000 miles comes from a particular 7 speed wet clutch DSG. The DQ381 The DQ200 Twin dry clutch DSG has 2 oils, in the MCU and in the box, different oils. There is no Service Schedule / Recommendations for changing.
  7. The issue is that they were only tweaked so that if they were tested under test conditions they could meet the kidology results on rolling roads, and they are not actually emitting less emissions on the roads. But then the Government accepted a million and a bit from VW and then never got the rest and no cars had to go off the UK roads.
  8. Surely nothing for those that have purchased a Euro 5 TDI since mid 2016 given that the Scandal broke late 2015 and VW had admitted to 11 Million vehicles having defeat devices by Summer 2016. It is a shame for those that have vehicles with the VW Emissions fix out of the 24 month peace of mind guarantee period and that failed on them.
  9. Maybe because you are on a hard shoulder, require recovery, and more than one or two vehicles are damaged in the same place in a few days or weeks, even if there is a pretence that there was not. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/272686-motorway-blowout-2-tyre-wrecked-evergreen-fitted-oh-dear Different as not a Motorway but a Dual Carriageway Aberdeen - Dundee /A90 and maintained by BEAR Scotland. BEAR being a company paid from the public purse to inspect, maintain and car for the Trunk routes, not a charity, they will pay dividends to Share Holders and Investors and to, CEO, to Senior and Junior managers and the manual workers and others. http://bearscot.com
  10. @Avvers Welcome to the forum. ? Have you checked the Pothole website to see if others have had incidents / accidents at the same location and any reports? http://potholes.co.uk
  11. Maybe they will be good enough then to do it for less money than they would charge to do a Skoda Superb.
  12. The car will be happy as Larry with a new clean paper filter if you are not going offroad or wading.
  13. Rory Reid has to tap out as going 60 mph is just too much for him.... Backed off to 50 maybe.
  14. @RickW The Manufacturers Warranty is valid if the Servicing is at a VAT Registered Premises (still is if not VAT Registered) & using OEM Parts. Maybe there is a VW Specialist near you with all the gear, so licensed equipment with TPI's and access to put the Service on the system, & more than just an idea. Service record of stuff done with invoices worth more to many buyers than a FMDSH/ Full Main Dealer Service History that shows how little they did. Not a FMDSH is only an issue when a Main Dealer is taking in a car, funnily when selling one not so. Simpsons 'Goodwill gestures' out of Warranty are likely not worth much anyway.
  15. The Battery is a consumable, but the car has to be fit for purpose. Press the switch and put Stop / Start off when it could be a nuisance like at a Car Park barrier.

  17. ^^^ A standard 90 / 110 Defender could not tackle tracks like that.
  18. Best guess, driven by a person that wore a kilt and sporran. So a Bagpipers daily drive.
  19. I hate to think what was done that caused that then, the mind boggles. Dealership staff might have more of an idea....
  20. Just asking the obvious. ? Does the driver have a ring or rings on the left hand, and is there wear on the right side of the wheel and any rings on that hand?
  21. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/438015-alternative-tyre-size-on-vrs More rubber on the road with the 215/40 R 17 that the 205/40 R 17, and 215 was / is the standard size on the Polo GTI, Seat Ibiza & Audi A1 Twinchargers. No down side really. 205/45 R 17 is OK as well. I have used all 3 sizes and liked the 215 in the right tyre at any time of the year, and 205/45R 17 was fine as well. More accurate speed on the speedo and not under reading by much if any.
  22. @Strite Welcome to the forum. Plenty have a tow bar / ball for bike racks and trailers. The Michelin CrossClimate look fine if all 4 are the same. Best see what the Service & Warranty records say, and if anything on the timing chain and tensioner, or budget for that. (If the Dealer can not get the Service History from the VW System you can from a Skoda Dealer or Customer Services.) Any invoices and receipts from a garage is good as a Service History. The past MOT's look OK, just the advisories on the front dampers which is not uncommon. Ask the seller how many former keepers are on the V5 now. (That does not guarantee that all there was are showing.)
