  1. Well done. Now you just have to get them back on again in a straight line and equally spaced.
  2. That changes things if the noise is engine speed related. When was the cambelt last changed and does the auxiliary drive belt look ro be in good condition and adequately tight? Was the air conditioning turned on at the time that you heard the noise?
  3. It also helps to warm up the letters with a hair dryer to soften the glue. If you use a hot air gun be careful not to overdo it. Read this:-
  4. Are the old ones not reusable?
  5. That would appear to eliminate the engine and gearbox but not the running gear or final drive. By your location you might be testing it on the Chapel-en-le-frith bypass. If so coming back towards Whalley on the downhill bit if you dip the clutch when the noise is at it's peak does it go away?
  6. I have no idea what it could be at the moment. I am just trying to reduce the number of variables so that I, or another member, can suggest what it might be. Remote fault finding is difficult at the best of times. Your noise could be related to engine, gearbox, final drive, tyres or suspension to name a few without further information narrowing things down.
  7. Did you drop down a gear to see whether the noise reduced?
  8. Is the noise purely related to road speed or engine speed? Also does it occur in all of the higher gears or just one?
  9. Margen lives in Tirana, Albania so different rules may apply to him.
  10. Yes you should. I do not think that there is an option to disable the boot microswitch but I may be wrong. You may have a broken wire somewhere or a faulty microswitch. How long have you owned the car for and has the button on the boot never worked?
  11. I had a similar letter from an insurance company a while back saying that my car had been involved in an accident when it hadn't been. Fortunately I had a supermarket receipt that placed me at a location many miles away from the accident site. It still took the best part of a year and a visit from an assessor, to prove that my car had not been damaged, to clear it up. The police were never involved. In your case could it be that someone has noted down the incorrect registration number? I would contact the police and try to get some more information as to the accident and the other vehicle. As far as I know you only have to report an accident if someone is injured or you do not exchange details at the time but I could be wrong. I am surprised that it is a police matter and that you did not get a letter from an insurance company. Are you sure that the letter from the police is genuine?
  12. I have often wondered why when most of the VCDS interface is in the users chosen language, e.g. Enlish in my case, some of the adaption channels are still in German. Could they not be translated by the software?
  13. What is the cost of Car Scanner Pro? Is it a one off payment and free updates like VCDS or pay as you go like some other offerings?
  14. It's funny that you should mention the Roberts Stream 94i as I have been looking at it. It comes up as the best buy for the money in a number of reviews that I have read and I gave even downloaded the instructions. As I do not have a NAS disk I could RIP all of our CDs onto a low profile USB stick and plug that into the back of the 94i. We currently have a Roberts radio in the kitchen. I don't remember the model number but it looks like a bugs head with 2 big eyes. The CD has stopped working, I think that the grease in the air and lack of use have gummed up the mechanism, and the on/off switch needs a bit of a waggle when using the radio otherwise the sound is not very loud. The only problem now is getting a £180 radio through the committee! Being a democracy both my wife and I have one vote each but as she is the chairperson of the kitchen committee she gets the deciding vote in the event of a tie. I think that her questions will be:- a) Is there something else cheaper the will do? b) Is the 94i easy to use?
  15. Unfortunately I do not know where to find second hand Kamiq parts but before you start spending any money are you sure that the damage is purely cosmetic and that there is no structural damage? If you have to buy new parts, or there is structural damage, unless you are able to do the job yourself or very cheaply you may find it cheaper in the long run to use your insurance company. Also as your car is only a year old you may find that the bodywork corrosion guarantee is invalidated if a non Skoda approved body shop, or yourself, does the work.
  16. That would indicate to me that you do not have a genuine version of VCDS and that the software supplied with it is a pirated version. How much did you pay for it?
  17. I do not think that would be the case as biggaz said that the Dance was working as were the rear parking sensors prior to fitting the Admundson although I could be wrong. What confuses me is that the Dance was working correctly before the Admundson was fitted but not when it was reinstalled even though no coding was altered.
  18. Even when the ignition is turned off there is usually a permanent live to the radio so that it can retain it's settings. It is always good practice to disconnect the battery when working on electrical, particularly electronic, components. Can you update your copy of VCDS to the latest version, which is downloadable for free from the Ros-Tech site https://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/download/ and do another auto scan as the latest version of the software may give us more information. Are you sure that you did not change anything with VCDS when you fitted the Admundson as one of the faults in 09: Cent. Electronics is "01300 - Control Module for Navigation with CD-Rom (J401) 49-00 - No Communications" which would appear to indicate that someone has changed the radio module to include a sat-nav and the Dance does not have sat-nav.
  19. biggar, in my opinion the way that you write your posts does not make it easy for people to understand what you have done. As I read it you took the Dance radio out of your Fabia and installed an Admundson. You then had a battery drain problem which you traced back to the new radio. As trickstargee said this is a known problem when fitting some radios to older cars and it requires a more modern CAN gateway fitting and coding to cure the problem. You then removed the Admundson radio and refitted the Dance. If you did not do any coding with VCDS whilst the Admundson was fitted then I can think of no reason why the Dance radio would not work when refitted the same as it did before it was removed. I assume that you disconnected the battery every time you removed and fitted a radio to prevent blowing a fuse or shorting out one of the electronic modules? I would suggest that you clear all of the fault codes and then see which ones return. On the autoscan that you posted the VCDS version is 11.11.6. The current version is 20.12 and I would suggest that you upgrade to the correct version as it includes more functionality. However if you have a pirated version of VCDS, such as can be bought from China, then you will not be able to upgrade it. Pirated versions of VCDS have been known to not work correctly and can cause problems with the coding. It is also Briskoda policy that discussions regarding pirated versions of VCDS are not allowed on the forums.
  20. If you post a copy of the full autoscan and a list of the problems tag you are having then people should be more able you help you.
  21. It would help people if you said which engine (size and code) you have fitted.
  22. Thanks for all the replies. You have given me food for thought.
  23. Welcome to the forum from another Stockportian ( is that a word?). I hope that you enjoy your new car.
  24. Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into it.
