  1. You might want to edit your listing your listing to state your location.
  2. His death reminded me that I had this from my youth. How many recent rally winners have a commemorative model car made of their exploits although this model is from the 1967 win of Rauno Aaltonen and Henry Liddon not Paddy's 1964 win. Rest in peace Paddy.
  3. How long are they there for?
  4. It looks a bit short to me to be really useful as it fits nearly flush with the filler hole. Why do you want one?
  5. Link doesn't work. It just reloads this page.
  6. Welcome to the forum Brendan.I hope that you find us a friendly bunch. Whereabouts in Australia are you?
  7. This does not appear to be a Rally with timed stages and prizes but a jaunt down the length of Scotland and England in EVs. I do not get what they are trying to prove ax the route will have been carefully planned to ensure that charging points are available some of which, e.g. overnight stops, may not be accessible to the general public.
  8. On my Octavia if you press and hold the unlock button the windows will go down and they will close if you press and hold the lock button. There have been cases of people accidently pressing the unlock button on the keyfob whilst it has been in their pocket and they have sat or bent down. Could that be the case for your wife? I do not know the range of the signals from the keyfob.
  9. On my right hand drive car it is behind the glove box on the left hand side. From the engine bay it is below the battery which you will need to remove and it is on the bulkhead behind the ABS pump.
  10. When I retrofitted indirect TPMS I used a grommet behind the ABS pump for the thin wire. I th8nk that it had multiple openings on it but I could be mistaken.

Why are you not able to say how much you will get. Are the lawyers embarrassed by the amount that they are racking off?
  12. Have you asked for written proof including a copy of the scan? If they cannot provide it, or it does not list the central locking problem as a fault, then I think that you would have a good case in law. If there was a fault then why was it not dealt with before you bought the car?
  13. Do you know what type of plastic it is? If it is ABS then a smear of acetone, which melts ABS, on both halves and then press together should give a strong bond. Otherwise as long as it is a voean break I would try medium viscosity cyanoacrylate and a small amount of "kicker" although the use of kicker can weaken the joint. I am sure you are aware but if you use Gorilla Glue then you need to be very sparing with it and clamp the joint firmly as it foams otherwise it will push the 2 parts apart.
  14. I don't know where in the world you live but that part is cheap here https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/06a103937-top-cowling-stopper-3902.html
  15. @Danvy Do you have a requirement for a particular part? Parts can be modeled and files produced but whether the part is fit for purpose will depend on its intended usage, the material that it is printed in and the way that it is printed. Like others with 3D printers I have modeled replacement parts for various items, not Octavia Mk1 parts, but I have not shared many of my files.
  16. Welcome to the forum from Stockport although I am originally from Lincoln. We have owned our Octavia estate from new and it has served us well. As you say there is plenty of space in the boot and plenty of storage space around the cabin for a growing family and holiday stuff. I hope that yours serves you well.
  17. Can you jack the rear of the car up each side, remove the wheels and have a look at the springs?
  18. Most may but without knowing the facts in my case your statement as to the reason that I did not notice is false. The MAD spring was taking the load as mine fractured in the middle.
  19. I have the MAD helper springs fitted to my Octavia II Estate. I fitted them for when we were towing our caravan, which we have now sold. If I remember correctly they did raise the rear of the car a little but the overall ride was not much different. Even with a boot load of holiday stuff and the caravan on the back I never had the car bottom out. At one MOT recently the car failed due to a broken rear spring. I had not noticed as the MAD helper spring must have been taking the load and the car had not been loaded fully recently prior to the MOT.
  20. Glad you have got it sorted with Lloyds. However it still appears that you have to get Aviva to remove the spurious cliam from CUE & MID otherwise Lloyds may refuse to pay out. Good luck with Aviva on Monday. I am sure that you are well capable of telling them the error of their ways.
  21. It sounds like somebody at Aviva has not done their job correctly and removed the "accident" details from CUE ( is CUE similar to MID?). I hope that you get it all sorted out quickly and without too much effort from your part.
  22. Welcome to the forum from another Stopfordian.
  23. It is probably a safety feature so that the bonnet cannot be released whilst the car is being driven.
  24. What did the garage say about the battery?
