I have ask around here at work as I'm over in Germany at present and they confirmed that you can't repair a y rated tyre due to safety reasons. Maybe it's a German law thing

After gratefully receiving a rather large screw in one of my tyres at the weekend I have just taken it for repair as they are new on in Feb and are 225/40/R18 92Y But the 'nice' man at the garage said they couldn't repair it as it was a Y Is this right ? As a new tyre will not be cheap

I now have a beautiful L&K which everyone thinks is great especially my (now) 2 year old who just points at the sun blind until I open it But I need the best suggestions to get three car seats along the back seat. I personally would of preferred some vibrant colour but everyone seems to just do boring these days. I was tempted by the red but the rosso was no were near the nice bright red of my old 3 series so instead I went for storm blue rather that the black which everyone has or the horrid metallic brown exclusive for my l&k

I went for the storm blue as everyone has the black or brown. I did think about the white but some nuppity at work has just got a white car so that's now a no go. I just wish you could get abetter range of colour like the fabia

I have ordered my new superb L&K and I now just await the phone call. My 3 series lease runs out in Dec so hopefully it won't take too long. But I have a concern I will pick up the car in the UK but then bring it straight back to Berlin where I work. When I originally brought out my Octavia L&K out it was just a quick trip to the dealer to get the lights pointing in the 'wrong' direction but there are conflicting reports as to the procedure with the lights on the Superb

I replace the MAF last weekend and hey presto !! A perfectly running car again.............. But the gate did swing back on the drive this morning and completely take out my wing mirror :(:(:(:(:( So the karma balance is restored

I had a quick look at the MAF housing and air filter on Wed night but could see anything startly wrong. But on Thursday morning the car appeared to run smoth again......BUT with no noticable turbo accelaration. It got to the speed it just took it's bloody time. I looked at it today and I noticed that I had forgotten to reconnect the MAF electrical lead. With the car running as soon as you reconnect this lead it starts it's it old tricks of running like a bag of spanners.Take it off again and it's smooth again. So I'm going to have a crack at giving the MAF a clean over the weekend.

No fault codes ??? Just lots of confused mechanics Took it on my 1½ hr journey to work and it did get better and seemed to handle the motorway criuse OK but still was a little jerky when I got back into the town at the other end, Does anyone know if it normal to get a bit of air in the fuel line for this engine

My L&K estate suddenely last Thursday morning started idling quite strangling. It sounded like it was dropping a cylinder !. I was better when warmed up but still not great with a great deal of heasitation when appliying power and great amounts of smoke issuing from the rear. I've had it to the dealers twice and the first time they replaced the temp sensor and the second time they just looked and although they agreed it wasn't running right they couldn't find anything wrong. Any suggestions ( Because my wife won't let me use her Fabia VRs ):confused::confused:

I had the rust on my 52 L&K but my dealer, Horton's in Lincoln changed it with out batting an eyelid and I didn't even buy it from them. I will keep an eye open around the handle but the only problem I've had is sometimes the lock doesn't always release the boot:confused: from the keys

I've noticed on my car that when I'm on the back roads and at speed my drivers side wing mirror starts to wobble. As far as I can seeit's not going to fall out but can there be something come off behind the glass?

I've just got a '52 Octavia L&K diesel second hand for getting back and forth to my new job. Unfortunately my new job is 95 miles away :( This means I'll be cover about 1000 miles a week, so servicing costs are important. The car has variable servicing but I was wondering what was involved in the 10,000 miles service because my wife has just had her first on her Fabia VRs and it cost an arm and leg. Can it be done DIY on a variable service
