the contis are not directional, but the outside tread is on the outside of the wheel so as steVRs says you gotta put the wheel on back to front to make an **** of the tread direction, totally impossible! cheers for the replies. *goes off to find an alloy

na they aint directional but they do have an outside specific sidewall. sticker looks like its off a space saver, ill get a pic up when my laptop starts working again. simonsheil - thats the first thing i checked, its a W same as the others. and mine is an 05 plate. but no matter two new toyos tomorrw and ill get on the hunt for a single alloy

stuck my full size spare on the car after a pothole incident on tuesday only to be greeted with a big yellow sticker saying limited to 50mph. car was in at queensborough yest getting checked over so i asked why the same conti 205/45/16 was limited. she said it was due to tyre compound compared to the other 4 on the car. wtf? :eek: tyres look exactly the same to me my thinking was that its a steelie and the others are alloy so skoda dont want claim if i crash with a steelie on whilst doing the national spped limit? so my question is should i find a cheap vrs alloy with no tyre and swap the tyre over or was the service lady true in the different compound nonsense? cheers, in advance.. sweet, but i have had mine down to 20 miles to go on the computer (looked like fumes on the fuel guage) and after 2 clicks on the pump i stil only got 39 litres in. are the phase 2 fabias smaller tanks? surely not? je suis confuzzled

mine had that on test drive (05 plate) along with a buggered fuel cap but all was fixed beforre delivery

for us newer members who missed the group buys the last time round: pd160 intake panel filter (green/pipercross and the like) cup holder/coin tray from a vw all for a fabia vrs. im sure there will be a few peeps in the same boat as me!

sorry to dredge here, but this expansion tank you speak of, what exactly does it do, and no prizes for the first answer of "it expands" is it the wee thing that if you push it, it hisses?

bloody hell, cheers for the replies!!! seems im not the only one geting 40odd. just worried me that when i boot it or drive oap style i cant really get it higher which makes oap driving pointless! what does the wee thing in the filler do that hisses? i knocked by accident earlier with the diesel pump and it hssed. what is its reason for being there??

ive done a search of the forums and seen that poeple are getting silly miles out of a tank of derv, one guy even cliamed 700 miles to a tank. :eek: am i the only one who only gets about 420 driving like a dead granny miles to a tank and 45mpg on the computer? car has done 8000 miles so should i expect more mpg in a couple of thousand miles time? daily commute is 12 miles a road with cruise engaged then 4 miles town. then return. can you all let me know realistically what everyone else is getting, and please no "one day on a good day i got 60mpg" jst normal daily driving etc etc to put me mind at rest. cheers boys and girls

i aint a mechanic but did own a pug 206 HDi DTurbo for 20 months. the minute the warranty went out the window is the minute stuff started going wrong... all of it was engine, and i realise that you are not going the HDi engine but the rear beam went after 62K miles as well as eating arb drop links every 20k. did give me a sore back on long jaunts and im a short **** (5'9) cost me £2500 in repairs in those 20 months and this year alone (sonce jan 06) i have used the AA 4 times. i got my fabia on 3 mar and have not used the AA since. but when it did run it was a great wee car, and the wiper thing is the same on the clio and megane/307 etc is it not? EDIT: the 206 gearbox was a bit crap - 2m throw from 2nd to 3rd. quickshift kit quickly sorted that but seemed just fine otherwise just my tuppence worth as an owner and not one of the "go for the skoda cos this is a skoda forum" hope this helps niall

oh and i gave it some beans, (not maxi chat or anything) on the normal commute to see what it was like. had mintx 1144's on my 206. they rocked. nedd to get me some of them in skoda fitment

i picked her up yest. love it, although the debate on the brakes - awesome on normal driving but my normal commute had them faded after a short time. disappointing. loving the cc on the motorway though. very kind to the wallet!!!

its listed on the skoda website in accessories for £99. will be inquiring when i pick up the vrs this week as my griffin itrip is suffering a little now... ill see what info i can get

funny you should say that, the boy at ingram skoda/ingram audi when i test drove the vrs asked what else i was looking at and mentioned a leon fr tdi and he said there was noisy rumours in the vag group that seat was getting the heave ho. so maybe it is all just rumours just now and no one really knows...
