  1. Very strange, I'll follow things up with them and thank you for your help.
  2. Yes, I can log into it but data for travelling ends at 3rd September, although there is a health check for today!
  3. But Skoda Essentials has supposedly been discontinued! I have logged into my Skoda Essentials account and find it is stll accessible although at one time it was supposed to have been unavailable from 17th July (there is now a notice saying access to it has been extended beyond that date for a smooth transition to the new MySkoda app). However, there is nothing in my Skoda Essentials app after 3rd September!
  4. I found the Skoda Essentials app very useful in the information it provided by journey though irritating in its tendency not to connect. By contrast, tne new, improved Skoda app is pretty well entirely useless, both in the information provided and in its reliability in providing it and really appears to have been designed, created, tested and approved by someone who has never owned a car and, possibly, has never driven in one. Does anyone really want to know the driving statistics per day rather than the driving statistics per journey, when with the latter you can check back and monitor the car's performance for certain types of journey, about town, medium distance and so on? (I noticed that in reviews of the app online when someone commented on how useful the data by journey was, it was suggested in a reply from Skoda that this information could be recorded by writing down the data from the dashboard display at the end of each journey - a very similar idea to the way I recorded fuel consumption on my VW Beetle 52 years ago! So much for the digital age.) Is the average mileage etc per day of use, (especially when it is wrong) For the period 3rd to 8th September, my total mileage is shown as 22 mile and the average per day as 3 miles. Turning to reliability in providing information, the current app has failed to record journeys (for example, for 3rd to 8th September, only travel for Monday and Tuesday is shown and not for other days of the week) and on occasions has recorded journeys that haven't taken place, for example, on 3rd August, it shows travel of 43 miles when the car was not used! Looking at the opening Car page of the app, top left beneath the words My Kamiq, it shows two arrows and the date and time of 03/09 at 17:03, suggesting that this was the last time it connected with some where, but there is no way I can see of getting the app to repeat this, e.g. by logging out and then logging back in. In the Profile section, there is a Contact Us box and tapping that produces a menu starting with "Report an issue" and tapping on this produces an Issue report from, but when you complete this and submit it, you get the puzzling message "Thank you for informing us about this problem. If you would like to resolve it further, please contact the customer service line"!
  5. Your foot/shoe may seem still, but I've found that a twitch of my foot within my shoe can be "felt" by the system and the engine starts up.
  6. Yes, that happens with me too, for example, if I put the turn indicator on or adjust the heating control as well as moving my foot on the brake pedal.
  7. I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. If I don't want to use stop/start, there is an on/off button.
  8. If there is the slightest movement of your foot on the brake pedal, the system senses it and assumes you are about to set off. It hardly ever works for me and then usually on a hot day and after a long drive, however, as I get good economy without it, I'm not greatly bothered.
  9. Take it back to the dealer you bought it from is the sensible thing to do.
  10. I would have thought your nearest Skoda dealer would have been able to do it.
  11. To me, the fob is the, generally, smallish piece on the key ring with the car name on, but do you mean this? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/176036895359

What sort of speed does it occur at?

That is plenty of time for them to lose 0.3 bar pressure and in my experience unless there is a problem with a tyre or valve or wheel, a set of tyres tend to lose pressure pretty much uniformly. On my Kamiq, for example, when I do a check (about once a month) each tyre is down to 2.4 bar.

It's happened to me for an unknown reason. Overall, the app is slow to load, clunky and of doubtful value, both in the information supplied and what it doesn't supply - for example, it doesn't warn if windows are open as the earlier versions did. For some reason, if you unlock the car after you've already locked it, for example to retrieve an item you forgot and then relock the car, the app recognises the unlocking but not the fact that you've relocked it. The maths is also suspect. Looking at this week's figures, I travelled 31 miles and this was spread over 4 days. The average mileage is shown as 4 miles, which if you assume that that this is mileage divided by days in the week is wrong (7 into 31 is nearer 4.5 miles than 4) but surely if you want an average daily usage you want one referring to the days the car is used, so 7.75 miles (or 8 rounded up). The previous Skoda Essentials and the version before that gave data by journey, not by day, and was really useful. Skoda Essentials had connectivity problems, but if Skoda had solved those rather than developing something else, the world would be a better place.
  15. My 2020 Kamiq SEL (ordered early in the year for Feb/March but only arrived late June because of impact of Covid) came with the torch, but not too long after this the torch disappeared from the spec, presumably impact of Covid on costs and/or parts supplies.

Can things get worse? I have just logged into the app and it tells me that "We are unable to retrieve all the vehicle data. Pull to refresh. If this issue persists, please contact the Info Call Line." I've tried to 'phone the Info Call Lnie, but only get the engaged tone. Presumably, it's a general problem, but if so, why not say so?

Well, I've just downloaded the latest version and it still says my car is unlocked and that it is in motion. Still no mention of windows being closed either or yesterday's travelling.

I found that but it doesn't show the windows info. Its version 7.3.2 so maybe there's a newer version I don't know about. I'll investigate further.

This app is a total load of rubbish. It takes ages to load, doesn't always show the correct information (with my Kamiq it almost invariably comes up with the car being unlocked, the ignition on and the car moving when it is locked, ignition off and stationery on the drive). I use Imperial units, but the mpg figures, although correct for Imperial, are described as US gallons. A whole 106 miles travel for June 20th is missing, but there is 106 miles shown for the following day! Yesterday (8th July), I made a number of short journeys, but nothing on the app for these. As someone else has mentioned, the previous versions of the app showed if windows were open or closed, but this one doesn't. I suspect that there was little input when the app was being specified, written and tested (if the last happened at all) from car owners (indeed, I suspect that none of the people involved in the production of the app actually have ever owned a car).
  20. Seasider replied to leckman's topic in Škoda Kamiq
Yes, you can, but the app still describes Imp gallons as US ones.
  21. Approach Skoda UK on this.
  22. Sadly, only too true. Keep us uptodate, please.
  23. I've just checked my 2020 SEL and with the air/con or off (but with fan going) air does go through to the rear area, maybe not a lot at auto settings, but direct the airflow downwards or turn the fan speed up and it becomes more noticeable. In the instruction book, it refers to how to adjust the various vents for most effective operation and I imagine that the system is such that the circulation of the air overall in the car at those settings and with the rear vents open is such that the passenger area as a whole is warm in the UK and similar climatic areas of Europe and the rear, third control zone is useful in more northerly areas. Certainly, though, air is getting through to the rear passenger area in my Kamiq.
  24. I see you have the SE-L. Isn't the heater/air con controlled via the display panel as regards which cabin area is heated?
  25. Seasider replied to leckman's topic in Škoda Kamiq
That's the Skoda Essentials app, the one I prefer to use. I was writing about the new Skoda app.
