Annoying beep
My 2020 Kamiq only gives a ping when it first detects I've gone over the limit and after that if I don't slow down it doesn't sound further. As regards a change in speed limit, I have noticed it occasionally give a ping when leaving a limited zone but never known why. Maybe the age of my car is the answer.

Gear number display on Virtual Cockpit
A strange decision. I have a 2020 Kamiq-SEL with DSG and I find o a number of occasions that changing to manual selection I can use a higher and, therefore, ore economical gear.

Notification from My Skoda app to consent to data transfer
Yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon I had a message notification from the MySkoda app asking for consent to data transfer. (There was a grey circle on the app icon to indicate there was a message, as well as the message showing in my 'phone notifications). As the message had some reference in to improving public safety, I assumed Skoda might be planning to reintroduce the Driving Score app and opened the app and checked that I had consented to data transfer. I also noticed that I was asked to select a service partner which puzzled me as I had done this when the app first came out, selectring D M Keith at York. However, I did so again and exited from the app. The grey circle on the app remained however as did the message in my 'phone notifications, so I opened the MySkoda app again and noticed that I was again asked to select a service partner, which I did, as well as checking data transfer consent(s). Exiting the app, the grey circle and message notification were still there and so I opdened the app again and found once more that I was being asked to select a service partner, which I did, also checking data transfer consent(s). This cycle was repeated a number of times and eventually the grey circle and message notification disappeared. Has this happenedf to anyone else?

Driving Score on the Skoda app
Thank you both for your replies which explain why I can no llonger find it in the app. As the driving score was an optional thing, I don't see any problem with data sharing - if you use Driving Score you share data, if you don't, then you don't. After all, in one way or another you share data just driving your car.

Driving Score on the Skoda app
Has anyone tried out the Driving Score option on the Skoda app and what do you think of it?

If you haven't done already, it may be worthwhile having a word with your local dealer.

Lane assist is dangerous
I have noticed that Lane Assist has made me aware of when I am straying towards the edge of my lane, so it is elpful in that respect and it odes sharpen your senses as regards avoiding this before Lane Assist needs to warn you. Maybe, too, we need to remember that it is not just about lane markings, it is about safe boundaries, e.g. getting too close to other "lane markers" such as banks and high verges.

Affichage carte MAP de Carplay/Audroid auto dans le cockpit
Here's an English translation: I have a Skoda Kamiq MC that I imported to North Africa. I would like to know if it's possible to display MAP (GoogleMAP or Waze) from CarPlay/Android Auto instead of the compass on the MOI3 cockpit of the Skoda Kamiq MC. Thank you. Here's my version.

boot lid
Mine is an SE L ordered in January, 2020, with delivery for March, 2020, but actually arrived June 2020, presumably because of Covid situation. There is no indent on the front door handles, so I suppose that supply problems during Covid meant that that bit was omitted. The key fob has buttons for everything locked, lock/unlock boot only and unlock everything.

boot lid
Apologies readily accepted. From my experience with my 2020 Kamiq, locking and unlocking appears to be far less complicated than what has been described, but then I went for the "press the button, lock everything" and similarly for unlocking. There is a boot only button on the key fob my wife sometimes, but I don't.

I think you in part at least miss the point. You apologise to me because you think I was offended, but offer no apology for suggesting that Topbox was not a nice person, while defending your use of capitals, which I have always understood to be the online equivalent of shouting, although maybe you didn't know that. I agree that it would have been useful if Topbox had provided an explanation when he confirmed that the problem had been solved, but all that required from you was an enquiiry as to what the solution was, no need for comments on Topbox's nature or stressing the point by capitals or any other means of emphasis. Face to face with Topbox would you have said what you wrote and stressed it as you did?

Although I agree with you that it would be useful to know what the solution is in this partiocular case for future reference, your tone seems unnecessarily sharp - I am tempted to say that a nice person would have asked more politely and without the "shouting" by the use of block capitals.

Check the handbook, I think you can set the car up for different patterns of locking.

Lane assist is dangerous
So you're agreeing with me?
-
Lane assist is dangerous
And the key words are "hold the wheel lightly" because the tighter you hold it, the more powerful lane assist works, hence the problems people have and how they make it dangerous.

MPG 1.0 vs 1,5 litre engines?
I've seen 63mpg on my 1.0 Kamiq on a 44 mile run from Scarborough to York with town traffic/slow traffic queues either end.

Driver Seat height
Yes, I did this by going to a mobility centre where they specialise in this and other modifications. The job took about an hour and cost (raisers and labour) £200.

Dash cam and permanently live cigarette lighter
It may be a bit of a nuisance, but wouldn't an answer be to just unplug the dashcam from the cigarette lighter when you leave the car?

It might be in the handbook or the service log book.

DSG gear indication
The DSG is not hunting in the circumstances I describe. The engine is running smoothly but the car is in a lower gear than it need be and switching to manual, selecting a higher gear and then switching back to automatic stops this. It is a software matter I imagine in borderline circumstances for selecting a particular gear.
-
DSG gear indication
That change is interesting and raises two points. With my 2020 Kamiq 1.0 S-EL, when D shows in the display when the car is moving, it indicates that it is in Disconnect mode, i.e. the engine has disconnected from the gearbox, the engine revs have dropped to 1,000 rpm and the car is in a form of freewheel. Touching the brake or accelerator reconnects the engine and gearbox in the appropriate gear for the speed of the car. It is a means of reducing emissions by using less fuel. Is this function no longer there now? 2. At low speeds, e.g. in town traffic or when the engine is not warmed up, I've noticed that the D option can select a lower gear than necessary and so I switch to a higher gear using the M option; switching back to D as then uusually remains in the higher gear. Similarly, when braking, the D option can change down to a lower gear than necessary, and, again, switching to M and into a higher gear and then back to D usually allows this to be over-ridden. Both features help reduce emissions and save fuel.
