  1. Yes, I know that but the question was "Does anyone know when it appeared?". I'm interested because one of my gripes with notifications has been that you are told an update is available without telling you what the update is for.
  2. Seasider replied to a post in a topic in Škoda Kamiq
I have found lane assist is better with the steering wheel vibration option turned off on my Kamiq, and the blind spot protection light is not easy to miss you'll be pleased to know.
  3. But I haven't done that, fingers and thumbs firmly on the steering wheel rim when it has happened. Regarding the imminent collision warning going off twice, I have realised this is because I am using ACC as front assist is inoperative and ACC operates differently as regards warnings compared with front assist.
  4. I noticed this new icon marked "Offers" on the last page of the centre display a couple of days ago. Does anyone know when it appeared?
  5. Two other problems have since appeared. On three occasions, the oil temperature display has disappeared while I have been driving and the mileage range has replaced it. On two occasions, the imminent danger of collision alarm has gone off for no apparent reason.
  6. That was the first thing I checked and it was on. I know it's not working because it does not pick up the presence of vehicles in front. As mentioned in my first post, following the advice in the manual, I washed the front of the car.
  7. Many thanks. I'll check the brake lights again in the light of your answe.
  8. My Kamiq was in for service last Wednesday and driving home afterwards I was driving through very fine but dense snow. At one point a message came up along the lines of "Front sensor impaired; front assist not available". This had happened once before in similar visibility (though in very heavy rain) conditions, so I was not too bothered and, as had happened before, the weather improved and front assist returned. However, since then, front assist has not worked, although if I turn off front assist, the warning messages about do I want to disable front assist and front assist disabled come up. Following the manual, I have washed the front of the car, checked all brake lights are working (they are) and any other guidance, but to no avail. Front assist does not pickup vehicles in front. One thing that I have noticed, is that when the car is first started, the front assist icon and the hour glass symbol (which show front assist is starting up) come on, but whereas before the hour glass was rotating now it is stationary and though the icon and hour glass disappear after a few minutes, front assist isn't there. What is strange, is that if I switch on ACC, that system picks up vehicles ahead! The oil temperature display has also been acting up since the front assist problem started, The oil temperature display comes on, but the temperature shown varies, quickly and often over a large range, e.g. 71C, 51C, 84C, in the time it takes to say 71 51 84. The garage are looking into the problems, but I am still waiting for some news from them. I'm wondering if an earth somewhere is faulty and these two items (front assist and oil temperature display/sensor and, maybe other items I haven't noticed) are affected by this. I say this because on one occasion with my Fabia estate I set off when the bonnet was not fully closed and a number of electrical items/displays were not working. I noticed that the bonnet wasn't fully closed, closed it and all was well.
  9. Yes, I added the variable floor for that reason, easier loading and unloading and a more level space when the seat backs are down.
  10. Thanks for the correction.
  11. I have a 2020 Kamiq SEL with the variable boot floor. It was pre-Covid and so as spec. It came with the tyre repair kit as standard but I replaced this with the spare wheel, and no problem with having the variable boot floor and a spare wheel. Thinking further over lunch, unless Skoda have changed the design the variable boot floor in essence is a shelf slid in above the original boot floor and about 10cm above it (level with the lip of the rear of the boot space) and so does not affect and is not affected by whether or not you have the tyre inflation kit or a spare wheel. The space below the variable boot floor gives you a "secret" area for things like cameras etc., but the big advantage is when it comes to lifting things out as you do not have to lean forward and reach down. See the photos with my post of 1st February, 2021 for a visual explanation.
  12. Yes, it's the same thing.
  13. As regards lane assist, I've had my Kamiq now for over two years and I find that either I've adjusted my driving to it or it has adjusted its actions to my driving. Whichever it is, we are getting on much better together. However, I do find that at this time of the year as the clocks change and the sun is lower, it can mistake shadows from the nearside verge as the edge of the road and react to these
  14. Good choice of model and colour, i.e. the cheapest colour. Looking on the Skoda website, that blue energy looks pretty much the same basic colour as on my 2020 Kamiq SEL DSG. If it is, it's been around quite some time. Looking around around car parks, it seems that pretty well every manufacturer has a colour close to the energy blue one of Skoda, and not just in the VW group. As regards delivery times, it seems that it can be quicker to go hybrid or electric. A friend recently ordered a Nissan Juke petrol version but then when the hybrid came out changed his order to that when he found he could have a hybrid in August as opposed to the petrol one early next year! My physio found, too, that an Enyaq would be available quicker than one of the large petrol Skoda SUVs.
  15. Thanks, gumdrop, that is something I'm looking for. I did buy the boot cum rear of back seat liner for my Kamiq, and though it is useful for protecting the rear of the back seats with the seats folder a long load, it is quite a weight to lug around in the boot all the time. Unfortunately, it's also an awkward thing to store. The one I bought, too, appears to be wrongly put together. It has a mat type side and a rubber treaded side and there is a fold out flap to protect the rear bumper. However, this appears to be in wrong way round as when the mat side is uppermost, the fold out flap is rubber side out and vice-versa,
  16. I had a 1.0 Skoda Fabia estate with DSG for 90,000 miles with no problems. I now have a 1.0 SEL with 13,500 miles on the clock, and, again, all fine. I have found the change very smooth on both cars, often imperceptible, although I agree with poolebob that setting off at junctions there can be some hesitation, although at traffic lights this isn't usually a problem as you can lift your foot off the brake slightly before you need to set off. I find it's when you are first in the queue at a junction and have to go from brake to pressing the accelerator that the hesitation in pulling away occurs. With the Fabia, I did try setting off at a junction in S mode to see if this helped, but it didn't as the pickup was so quick the front wheels spun before moving.
  17. My 2020 Kamiq SEL has dynamic front and rear indicators but I had heard that the front indicators on later models no longer had this because of semi-conductor supply problems. Maybe the supply problem does not affect the rear indicators.
  18. My apologies, but the introduction to your post did make it appear redundant.
  19. Which is exactly why this thread was started, and your height explains why you find the seat height OK.
  20. Thanks for that, it supports my experience. I should imagine that with an extra 2,500 or so miles, your tyres will be the same as mine are now.
  21. I raised the seat height issue with my dealer recently and received this answer: " As for the seat and this sounds daft, but drop the seat all the way down slide it to the most rear position then lift the seat up as far as it goes then move back forward. This does make a difference on the Fabia. They don’t lift as far when they are all the way forward." I have tried this, and it works on the Kamiq too - the seat is higher. Whether it is high enough for everyone's needs, of course, depends on the individual.
  22. This morning the SOS warning came up on my Kamiq. Turned off and on again and it came up again. Set off to town and after about 3/4 of a mile a message "SOS call activated", presumably meaning that the SOS system was now working OK. Ignition has been on and off a number of times since and the problem hasn't recurred.
  23. Thank you for your straightforward answer, which was what I was after, either there is no problem or there is a problem. I have never seen tyre wear like that and so, understandably was concerned and had imagined that another forum member with a Kamiq might have had a similar concern and so could provide an answer.
  24. Effectively, you have posted a picture of the rear tyres, although their tread depth is, understandably, less.
